Louis isn't in every book, but they are taking plenty of liberties with the source material, so they will probably find a way to keep the characters consistent even though the seasons will focus on a different character. Jacob, Assad, and Eric have all been confirmed for the season 3 cast.

What broke me was Lestat's question.. "Did you hurt yourself?"... His voice cracks.. and he begins to cry. He loves Louis so much that the idea of him doing that wrecks him. And that is so profoundly beautiful. Also the undertone of suicide as well. But truly it was the beautiful love Lestat shows for Louis. I sobbed.

The first clue that Armand wasn’t the one to actually save Louis was the hesitation Armand had when Louis asked him if he saved him from execution. But when Louis asked him if he got him out the wall, Armand immediately said yes.

Anne Rice says that after writing IWTV, the character Lestat took life and she realized that he was the hero, not the villain. That’s not to say he doesn’t have villainous qualities. What the show writers have done with the show is create a changed narrative to creatively change from Louis’s wounded and betrayed POV to Lestat taking center stage to tell you his history and set the stage for Queen of the Damned.

Thank you for opening up. Louis really embodies someone in deep depression, and how people around us get affected also. That scene with Lestat I watched multiple times.

It was beautiful. Lestat mentioned Akasha and I'm so excited for that reference. I was waiting to see how you'd react when you found out that Armand turned Daniel. The short answer to your question is not so much until you get to a certain book. The show runner for this show understands that these performances are so powerful. Louis is not going away at all, BUT Lestat will be center stage for S3. They’ll be a few more characters in addition to everyone we’ve met so far.

you know Jacob who plays Louis has made music before under the name Raleigh Ritchie in real life .....he can perform onstage in season 3 with Lestat if he has to be there to protect him ...that would be my idea...hope they play around with that idea

Rolin Jones has said the focus of this adaption of TVC is Louis & Lestat's relationship so even though Louis fades out of the picture in the books until halfway through the chronicles and remains a bit of a background character too, I really do think the showrunners will find Louis a new role that Anne Rice did not put him in originally. Personally, I think Louis will be there with Daniel & Lestat during their interview and learning more and more about Lestat will help them reconnect romantically, and also allow Louis to put into perspective things he still does not remember, too. Louis will be just as much as a main character that Daniel was in Season 1 and 2 even though he is only ever shown in the present (with exception to S2 EP5 lol) :-) Lovely reaction BTW I totally relate to being transported to a time in my own past during Lestat asking Louis if he hurt himself and Louis saying I was in a dark way. Beautiful that they can connect with each other to grieve over theirr daughter.

Great reaction❤ It definitely made me cry too since Louis just came from such a dark, tormented place and now he is trying to live his life honestly like good for him ❤ Jacob Anderson did such an amazing job as Louis! The showrunner has said that the heart of the show is Louis and Lestat's relationship so even though Louis is not in some of the books, he will definitely still be a main character in the show.

There must have been a separate director for the season finale, it was amazing! As you said, it captured the vibe of the first season which, unfortunately, most of the second season didn't capture. Side note: I live 2.5 hours from New Orleans. There's so much history, it's a different world down there. You can literally feel the history, vibe, culture and energy of the city when you arrive; like it's alive and knows you're there. I visited the Royal Street townhouse where Lestat & Louis lived in season 1 and also made a stop by Anne Rice's mausoleum to pay my respects. Anne Rice disapproved of every actor's attempt at playing Lestat on screen. She was adamantly opposed to Tom Cruise playing the role. I regret that she was unable to see her greatest creation, Lestat de Lioncourt, come to life on the screen as she wrote him, as she created and envisioned him in her mind. I have no doubt she would have viewed Sam Reid's portrayal of Lestat as basically a birth, as if the creation from her mind had finally been born into a physical form. I know Anne is watching from the other side with approval and a long-awaited sense of satisfaction. Rest in peace, Anne Rice, and thank you for dedicating your life to creating these characters and stories that have captivated the world for decades and will continue to do so for eternity.

I am SO looking forward to more of this Lestat! Louis is only in the first book as a main character. Lestat IS Anne Rices protagonist of protagonists. Personally I can't wait to see Lestat litterally intimidate the devil himself in Memnoch The Devil. Not a spoiler.

It was just heartbreaking. All of the actors were amazing but Sam Reid has become Lestat. He has been flawless in his portrayal of the brat prince. Season 3 seems so far away!

In this version (different from the book) I think Armond was conflicted how could his ex Lestat love Lewie so much over him. I think that Armond was trying to punish Lestat, and I guess after 75 years he fell in love with Lewie, but he did so much shady stuff and lies he couldn't make up for it.

It really took a while for me to get over Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt from my mind... but heck.. Jacob Anderson did a great job but Sam Reid really stole the whole show.. I now love him! The last embrace between them makes my hetrosexual male heart just wanting them to kiss -but I like that they didn't. I accually liked this rendition better than the movie in a way..

Louis is there in the future, however, Lestat is the main character. Louis doesn't really play a major role from here on out until we meet Merrick. Spoilers from there.

Louis does appear in some of the other books lestat is the lead in 10 of the 13 books while Louis is in 2 of the books

Lestat at the end is the REAL Lestat. People don’t seem to grasp that the Lestat that Louis recalled all through season 1 & 2 is not actual Lestat. Armand poisoned Louis mind for 77 years with false recollections of events that did actually happen, but Armand always warped Lestat to be the bad guy when any argument or fight happened. The real Lestat loved Louis. The real Lestat loved Claudia. The real Lestat fed off rats and lived in squalor for over 70 years waiting for Louis to figure out the truth about the trial. Even if Lestat told Louis it was he who saved him, Louis would t have believed him. . Armand had already started seeding his poisonous control over him. Loved the season! And yes season 3 will be adapting The Vampire Lestat all about Lestat’s origins and what Magnus did to him. It’ll be Lestat focused for sure, but Louis will still be present. I think to still have Louis in every episode they should have the season based on Louis interviewing Lestat about his life and then in the finale have Louis give Daniel the interview to write a second book... it’s not how it happened in the book, but I think it would be an awesome way to learn about Lestat and will elaborate on on his origins not only for the audience, but also for Louis to understand why Lestat is the way he is. . his life was tragic and full of pain and loss. Loved the reactions and the season! Onward to season 3!!

Ill admit i was guarded when Louis and Lestat reunited. Cause im thinking, what if hes not upset about Claudia, and hes actually upset about Antoinette. Idk if thats true mind you, but it was my immediate thought. I think it really speaks allot to the writers and acting, that even though i sympathize with Lestat allot, im still suspicious of everything he does. Cause he has shown time and time again he is a liar and selfish. That being said i cannot wait for season 3!
