The reveal of Armand might not be that impactful for you who maybe haven't read the books but he is a BIG DEAL. Like Louis hasn't learned anything from his toxic relationship with Lestat if he's dating Armand 😭 SEASON 2 COMING OUT MAY 12TH!!!

Armand is basically another drama queen who is going to shake things up in season two with his coven of vampires, who are a bunch of theater kids living off art and being ruthless in Paris lol Louis Lestat and Armand have a very strong dynamic in the story, and even Daniel is in this mess!

This series is so beautifully rendered. Toxic, violent, passionate, and complex. Jacob (Louis) and Sam (Lestat) have such great chemistry. That balcony and dance scene is stunning. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds in season two.

Cutting Lestats throat may have actually helped him by letting the poisoned blood out. I think Louis knew what he was doing. He just wanted to incompacitate Lestat so he and Claudia could make their escape. Knowing that Rashid is actually Armand puts the whole interview in question. Armand can be very manipulative, and he and Lestat have a very antagonistic and complicated relationship. It's likely that this luxury apartment is probably a type of prison owned by Armand to "save Louis from himself". You already pointed out that the bookshelves were elevated, and we know that Louis does not possess the cloud gift, which leaves Armand in control of what Louis reads. And we know Louis likes to read. This whole interview was carefully controlled by Armand, who stepped in or lingered every time the interview started to go somewhere he didn't want it to. It's also possible that he is manipulating Louis memories.

If you are interested in more Sam Reid (Lestat), I highly recommend "The Newsreader", it's an examination of being queer and closeted in the 80s in Australia. It's a fabulous series I can't recommend highly enough.

I love The Newsreader too. The fact that Sam Reid filmed The Newsreader, then IwtV, then The Newsreader again, and then IwtV again is such a testament to his acting skills because Dale Jennings and Lestat are such different characters but both are so fully realized.

@@ethnolushx_thishouseisacircus Yes he did when Louis mentioned Greece while he was playing the piano. Those who must be kept are Akasha and Enkill, who are the original vampires. Now living marble statues. But the vampire we met in season one that is older than Armand is Dr. Fareed Bhansali. He was companion to Seth, Akasha's son. 🙂😉 He is in fact also Lestat's doctor. Remember he came to administer Daniel's treatment.

In Re: Armand -- much like with Claudia and Louis, "Armand/Rashid" is a degree reconceptualized in this vs the books. (If you ever read IWtV, Louis actually spends almost twice as long with Armand than he does with Lestat but it's "blue booked", so to speak, covering over a century of time they are together in just so many pages vs the bulk of the book with Lestat. (Armand is, in effect, Louis' rebound relationship after Lestat.) But yeah -- the details are different here, but I like the changes.

Armand isn't the OG.. the OG is Akasha but I doubt that will be part of this series. So happy they're making a 2nd season cuz they're doing this sort of remake pretty damn well.

“Six Feet Under, I would say..” Which is a great show js ❤ Anyway, I’m so excited for the France era of IWTV. Also, while Bailey Bass was a great Claudia, I still think that nothing can beat Kirsten Dunst (I do acknowledge that her being 11 years old makes it even creepier & more spectacular) ❤

I loved this show and how much they played around with and changed things from the books. I also went into it ready for a new take on this story, so I wasn't mad about the many changes. For me the show was like fun and cool fanfiction, hehe The one thing I do think is a shame, is that I think the Armand reveal at the end is the one moment where you really needed to know the books, to realise how much of a gag moment that was :D :D Since I think people should be able to watch the show on its own terms. But Armand being there like this and Louis saying that at the end, is a huge change from the books and I'm so curious about what they will do with that :D

Yeah...the bookshelfs being up in the air... And Louis LOVES to read but Louis cannot use the cloud gift whereas clearly Armand can... It's a foreshadowing into how controlling and abusive Armand ALSO is, probably... I've not read the books but from what book readers have told me Aemand is also a piece of work that's potentially even WORSE than Lestat... Louis jumped from one abusive relationship to the next. 😬

You guys are so cute and hilarious! Very squeamish though! LOL! I mean they are murderous, blood thirsty vampires! You've got to expect some gore! And be nicer to Lestat! He is such a beautiful misunderstood creature! And remember, all of this has been from Louis' and Claudias' point of view so some things we've seen may or may not have actually gone down like we were shown. In any case, I've loved your reactions and you made me LOL numerous times! I hope you'll be back for Season 2! May 12 can't get here soon enough for me! This show is my life, my love, and my religion!!!!

Yes! Such a great series and gets better at every rewatch. S2 is back on May 12th 🙌🏼 There is some stuff already released: Teaser 1, first look (part of a scene) and a second teaser was just released yesterday! They're on AMC+ channel. I'd be great to see your reaction to them!

I love this show so much. When it arrived on BBC iPlayer I thought I wasn't going to be hooked, after episode 1, I was hooked. I hope we don't have a huge wait for us in the UK to get to see season two. Love your reactions to these guys. Same reactions I had.

Rashid was actually Armond, who is also Marius I believe, who is a character from the books who taught Lestat who/what he is, and how to survive as a Vampire. And left him after Lestat drank from the Queen of the Damned; Akasha. It doesn't mean much to those who know nothing about the books but for us book readers hearing he was Armond really made us excited, I watched this with my dad (who was uncomfortable with the gay scenes but watched it never-the-less) read all the books when he was younger, he told me when watching the movies that it was way more gay in the books, not just that but their 'sexual' relationship was all internal and mental but they still were deeply in love, Lestat being Bisexual and Louis being full gay. And Louis and Armond do end up together I think, and Lestat ends up with a girl named Jesse who was human and was turned by Lestat. That was in more recent times.

In the books, I always very much loved Armand. Sadly, neither the films nor this show do him justice. He's supposed to be a teen - one of the oldest, and most beautiful of the vampires.

I found Armand's book boring but that's my opinion of reading the entire series... He most definitely is one the ancients gathered in "Queen Of The Damned".... The movie was saved by Aaliyah s phenomenal protrayl along with Stuart Townsend.....Lestat is an evolution and later part of a revolution....
