Interview with the Vampire Season 2 Episode 7 “I Could Not Prevent It” - Spoiler Review 

It is an absolute crime that this show, Jakob, or Sam Reid hasn’t been awarded a Globe or Emmy for this work.

I just didn't appreciate that Lestat portrayed Louie like he was Mister from "The Color Purple"... We know Louie don't carry himself that way. 💅🏾

Not only did this episode get me in my feels, but also your great review, especially the end - New Subscriber.

Armand used Santiago’s trial as a scapegoat to punish Lestat. He wanted to emotionally cut Louis and Lestat’s ties by having Claudia executed because of their bond. Lestat even tried to say he was just as guilty as them but Santiago didn’t want to hear it. It’s very likely that Armand has held Lestat captive this entire time like he did in the books. I think that Dubai penthouse is getting flipped next week after we see Louis light up that Coven.

You are so right about Claudia’s last look at Lestat. The way her eyes softened to him in her last moments, I was on the floor balling my eyes out😭

I thought the same as you. Armand had a way bigger role in this. I also think Armand finally is getting his lick back at Lestat. He’s using this trial for all of that bc he’s just too powerful not to be able to know what was going on.

Claudia deserved better it's sad what happened to her

2:30 I know Armand was an accomplice in Claudia's death but I hate how people are not acknowledging how Louis and Lestat where as if not more responsibile for her death 😢. Granted Louis had indirectly caused her death but had he ran away with Claudia when she begged him too she'd still be alive 😮‍💨. Oh and not to forget Louis is power hungry there was a point in time where he wanted to be Màitra and Armand did beg him to run away with him 🤷🏽‍♀️. Louis don't love nobody but himself 🥴. His spent prolonged one on one periods with Lestat, Cladiua and now Armand and he still could not love them 🤕. Louis ain't 💩. Lestat directly planned their death with the covern he had plenty of chances to escape with his "Family" before the trial even began 😮‍💨. So if we are going to grant Lestat grace then we should grant Armand the same grace too 😌. Still Armand's #1 STAN even though he is messy🤭

The books are great, but the show is it's own thing. The books are a seasoning of happy foreboding sprinkled through these series but so different at the same time. This Armand and Daniel are NOT getting together LOL

After this season, I think it's my last time watching. 💔

It fell flat to me

Armand was involved IDGAD WHAT NOBODY SAYS....This worked out wayyyy too perfectly for him....I calling it now...The last episode ALL LIES WILL BE EXSPOSED....Armand was tired of being thee Master of the coven but also did not want to give up his position...he also wanted Louis ALL TO HIMSELF but Claudia was in the way....Keep in mind Armand had been teaching Louis the fire gift and Loyis has said multiple times how he struggled to master it he only seemed to be able to tap into it when he's pissed off....Armand figured he could kill 2 birds with one stone he gave up Claudia not only in but he also gave control of the coven to Santiago in exchange for Louis life with the condition that they make it look like Armand was also a victim when really he's a co conspiriter...He KNEW Claudia would be put to death...and He KNEW Louis would snap wiping out the entire coven in a fit of rage...Armand is a MASTER MANIPULATOR!!!

Great recap and take! I feel I’ve been waiting to see how this incident would play out since the start of season 1 episode 1! You are so right, Claudia deserved more from this world, and the actress Delainey ate that final episode 🙌🏾🙌🏾

I have absolutely been loving your content and your great commentary on this and other shows. I could not agree with you more that this iteration of "Interview With The Vampire" far surpasses the film. The performances by the actors is top tier and YES it is unfortunate that not a single cast member seems to be nominated for some form of award. Delaney Hayes as Claudia simply broke my heart with her passion, braver, wit, strength and vulnerability.

The art projected on the wall was next level. So theatrical. I kept laughing during such a sad episode.

The way Claudia was shielding Madeleine with her arms was like the reverse of the 1994 movie. In the movie it made sense that Madeleine would shield Claudia as a mother would a daughter. I think it is so beautiful how they did in the show. You could see how much they loved each other, how they CHOSE each other, in their final moments and then Claudia also showed her strength, defiance and courage to the end. It was heartbreakingly tragic and I cry on every rewatch.

Louis did love Claudia. He failed her over and over again and he made her out of selfishness but that does not mean he didn’t love her.

No book reader can spoil this because this has diverged from the book completely! When the trial happens in the book, everyone still believes Lestat is dead. He doesn't resurface until the 1980s. Sam Reid's acting was so good, I'm questioning everything I saw in season one! I excited to see where they take this story now, because it's straying further from the books in fascinating ways!
