Talk about a little more for the 16". I just bought the 12" off Amazon for $329. It gets delivered tomorrow. Looked today to get a few dimensions and seen they have the 16" for under $300. Thinking I need to send 12 back when it gets here and order the 16.
I would love to see a slow mo view of how your pumps are all hooked up. I started watching your videos when I got my pool two years ago. Loved the window tips! But I need exact visuals on trying to hook up all my filters 🤣 I think I’ve purchased everything you have! Sunshades are the bomb!!!
When I release the 16" pump review next week, it will have a very detailed diagram of the setup. Thanks for the note. Lots of content coming over the next few weeks.
Well let agree to disagree? :) Recomending a 300$ sand-pump is easy, but I would argue its not the right thing for most people. There are few considerations to be made: 1.For moderate climate where swim season is only 3-4 months. It just don't make sense to throw 300$ for e pump. Paper cartriges can last from expirience a month if taken care of! Even if we change it every 2 weeks that's 12 to 16 pieces at most! So 60-80$ per season. You'll need 4 seasons at least to make the difference to the sand-pump. Which lead me to the second point... 2.Longevity! In my decade of using Intex, never ever a cartrige pump failed me! I still had very old ones(as a reserve), since every new pool comes with the new pump. Many people can attest to this. While for the sand-pumps(I havent used them to be honest),many people complains that their pumps brokes after 2-3 years on average. And we already concluded that 4 season is the time just to broke even with it over the cartriges. 3.Third point I want to make is'nt going to be about money or investment, but rather useful expirience with the pumps. One 1000 gallons/hour pump can and will filter and maintain cristal clear water for any pool up to and including 15ft one! I know it from expirience. And if anyone is complaining that it cannot do that, than... that person must be doing something wrong,or is just too lazy to maintain a pool! (And let be honest, many intex owners are like this) 4.As larger pools comes kited with the sand-pumps,the only pools left in the middle would be the 18-21ft ones which (future owners)may find it usefull to know beforehand that they need to invest in large capacity sand-pump. Cheers
I must love your comment as it is well written as extremely well thought out. Even though you and I may disagree, I appreciate intellectual comments. You, my friend, are awesome. I'll be the first to admit that I'm. not always right and I rely on people like you to help keep an even platform. Great COMMENT
Thank you for your channel! We purchased the 12" filter after watching your reviews and absolutely love it. For the 16" pump, the price will be hit or miss with Amazon. Currently the price is at $379. Im sure you purchased it when it was only $189. I would suggest anyone looking to buy it to just be patient and wait for the price to drop. Do not buy unless it is at the $189 price point. The 12" pump is more than enough for my 18x48" Coleman.
@@sweetnsassy681 In your case, I would go for the 16" pump. You have a lot more water to move and it would be the most efficient option in your case. Im sure the 14" can handle it, but the 16" will save you more in the long run. Please wait for the sale on Amazon. It dropped to $189 on May 13th again. I would not buy it for any more than that. Just check everyday and wait for the price to drop down to $189 from the $366 price its at now.
Thank you for all of your super valuable info! I am reading some horror stories about people who have had the sand enter the pool because it was too small of a grain. They said they are using official pool sand- zeosand, fairmount minerals,#20 grade. I see you used Polmetto sand- i saw it on amazon but it didnt have any reviews. Is that my best bet? I ordered the Intex 2800 sand filter and a Bestway Power steel Vista 18 feet pool. This will be our first pool, I have been watching your videos. Just trying to give the kids something to do during the quarantine
I've been waiting for more pool videos! Lol. I've been telling my wife how most of the things I've been doing is from ideas you have. I showed her one of your older videos with the waterfall and she's debating about it or having me rig up since other type of feature. Plan to use the junk pump to run the water feature
I'm a bit of a fluid dynamics nerd myself. I got the pool for the wife and kids, but the pump setup is for me. I would like to see a video on your pump setup. Thanks! Keep putting out the good info on these bestway pools.
Love your videos ~ I hope your pool has held up better than ours. We got 2 seasons out of it ~ those windows are the death of these pools. Also, we just purchased a Blackstone for camping and home as well. Stay safe 😊
Hate to hear that about the pool, Lisa. Happy CAMPING! I love camping almost as much as banana pudding. I had a 27' coach until 2 years ago. My city said I had to move it so I sold it.
Real Life Reviews We have a 2001 27 ft Fleetwood Wilderness ~ she’s an old gal that we’ve renovated. We love her and can’t wait to camp this year, but alas we are closed until May 31. So June it is. Banana pudding is pretty awesome 😊😊
Greetings from Tampa! We just set up the same pool you have and your videos have been so helpful. We have been getting sand blown in pool when we first turn on the pump (2800 intex sand filter) after reading and researching videos I think we may have found the issue. We got the Clorox filter sand thinking it would be great. This lady has described our issue to a t, so we are going to empty our sand filter and put new sand in, the #20 it states to use to begin with. Curious where did you purchase your sand and how much did you put in yours?
I have the same pool as you have in your video except my pool came with the skimmer.I bought the 12in sand pump and it seems to struggle with moving the water in this size pool would the 14in sand pump do a better job? Not really trying to buy a 16in..
Thanks for your reviews, they are very helpfull, Do you have a video about the maintenance you do for your pool, we have the same pool and I am wondering about what quemicals and how often should we use them
I have a question. I am trying to decide on a filter for my stock tank pool. I am looking at the 10" and the 12". It is a 8' x 2' tank. Will the 12" be too much? Will the 10" be ok? It is a .25 HP. I've calculated it at 752 gallons.
Thank you for your videos! So now that the 12" pump is sold out everywhere - or jacked way up in price - I don't even know what the pre-pandemic price was...can you give me an idea? And if I can't find one before summer, would something like 'The Circulator' work with the existing pump?
I'm going to buy the 16 in,it will be my first sand filter.my question is: how does the Harsco glass media $44. forty pound bag work with this model? price is fine for me
Quick question... I have the same as you, big pump and same pool. After a quick dust storm, the dirt in the bottom can’t be vacuumed up. When I try, the dirt just goes through the pump and blows back out into the pool making things worse. How can I vacuum the pool? Any suggestions?
Would the 1.25 to 1.5 adapter restrict water flow enough to cause a performance issue or would it be better to just cut hole for the 1.5 line? My pool is the 15’x48” Intex at 4,440 gallons at 90 percent and was looking at the 14” sand pump. enjoyed the reviews very informative.
Here's the deal: restricting the water flow on either side, whether its suction or discharge will eventually take its toll on the pump. The pump will succumb to heat, not because it's how outside, but because the limiters can never become satisfied trying to meet the capacity the pump is capable of. If you restrict on the discharge, its not as bad, BUT, you're still causing internal stressors. I'm posting content about this in 2 weeks.
@@aliceinchains5243 I have removed the hard pipe and went back to hoses because of my new 3 pump set up. I posted this about a week ago. I knew about the 90° issues and never really cared for it. I used 22.5° angles on my dust collection in my shop. It completely removes the restriction if air flow.
Just found you, thoroughly enjoying your videos. Question, have you ever converted your pool into Salt water? Is salt water OK to use with the Coleman Vista to pool. We bought the same size you have. Just got it for days ago. :-) getting ready to set up probably the next couple days.
I just posted a set up video last night. As far as the salt is concerned, a lot of my subs have converted, but I haven't because I just haven't done that much research. That's a hot topic that is coming up pretty soon.
Real Life Reviews other friends of mine I converted there’s using the InTEXT saltwater system. Which runs about $145-$200 depending on how you catch it on sale at Amazon. I thought about picking one up. Well thanks for getting back to me. Looking looking forward to see your comments down the road. :-)
PS. The reason I’m interested in it, I hear it’s less maintenance. And cost less than the long run. :-) Not sure if all this is true. But what I understand it is. This is why I’m looking forward to your opinion. It also has lots of benefits like, less fighting of your swimwear, you don’t smell like chlorine when you get out. :-)
@@tateluck58 I agree with everyone of those points and I'm 51% convinced, but I need a touch more research before I take the bait. I get real serious when it comes to saving bucks, so its definitely on my active radar. I have it on my plate to decide within the next three weeks if I'm going to do it this year.
Pool noob here. I just purchased the 14" intex pump for my 18' by 48" pool. Once I get it all setup, do I still use chlorine? Or is the sand enough? Thanks.
I ordered the 16in Intex sand pump with the digital timer. They did not send me the new model but the 2018 model without the digital timer. It will take another two weeks to get the one with the digital timer. Is the digital timer that much better than the 2018 model?
How do you feel about Hayward? They have a comparable 12" sand pump/filter for under $300 would really like to know if you have experience and/or what you think about them. Is the price difference worth it, is Hayward junk compared to Intex? Thanks in advance dude!
I am having a problem with my intex sand filter, on backwash it comes fast then drops low barely coming , on rinse full power high water coming out , can you pls help me tyvm
We have the 18ft Coleman pool as well and I just ordered the 12in Intex filter you recommended, but will this just hook right up or are there any adapters I will need?
Real Life Reviews if I put the original one on and want to switch to the one that came with the 16, how would I do that if it is hooked up and running? Thanks!
Do not use this stuff. It goes right through Intex filters. There's a ton of videos about it out there. www.amazon.com/dp/B00JJ5GXSK/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_ziFYEbERWMSHD
LMAO, If you want the link to the little pump, you gonna have to go to someone else"s video. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Gotta love our Southern Brothers (strait shooters).
