I think that his father being obsessed with horses is a reference to the play Equus which is about a young man whose religious upbringing mixes with his budding hormones and projects onto a horse god he makes up named Equus. A lot of themes of that play are present in the muppet joker’s persona.

UPDATE: This video was so traumatizing for the muppet joker that he was forced into kinning Vriska. His hatred of women is still intact despite now being a women. god truly gives his strongest warriors his strongest battles.

The thing that people who are duped by stories like this forget is that *most stories don't play out so clearly online*. You don't have a Reddit poster AND a Tumblr poster clearly and carefully explaining what's happening for the sake of the reader's enjoyment-unless the story being told is being made up as a creative writing project. The craziest detail about the troll writing is he writes the “uncle” character with an understated implicit misogyny: dismissing SIL’s parenting style entirely and treating her as “too soft” (his concerns are fairly agreeable but laced with this kind of “looking down” tone), to having a pronounced snese of needing to protect his wife. The father character is similarly written to be dismissive of the mother’s parenting styles and feeling like he needs to be harsh to Colten to get him to act right. it almost tries to set up the kind of family background that made the Colter character the way he is

The "Hank Green apologists" is such a layered joke. For one, it's not easy being green, so obviously he's not a true green person. For two, Hank Green is a Batman fan. It's such a great joke.

Oh I went into a deep dive of this guy's tumblr back in April, and it's insane the mixture of genuine mental illness and hilarious tumblr posts that feel so tumblr perfect. Like one of my favorite out of context quotes is from a post of him talking about his hate for Steven Universe and it end with, "[Garnet] has given me an irrational fear that one tall woman may secretly be two lesbians." I haven't been able to get that quote out of my head for the last two months.

im so glad you covered this. i went down the muppet joker rabbit hole a few months ago and i had an amazing time doing it. the lore insane. more lore not included in this video: -he hit his previous therapist with his car at 4mph. he waited for hours outside of the therapists office for this. -hes admitted that his "sessions" with his kermit plush can last up to four hours. -he ate his college roommates soap. the roommate packed up and left shortly after. -he is a flat earther.

I live in the metro Detroit area. On two glorious occasions I've had the privilege of encountering a 20-something year old guy who drives around with one hand on the wheel, and the other inside of a full size Kermit puppet. The first time I met him was when I was working as an afternoon supervisor at Tim Hortons. He pulled up to the drive thru speaker and, in a Kermit impression, said "are y'all closed?" My closer and I rushed to see him through the lobby windows and we were blessed with the sight of this dude controlling a Kermit puppet out of his car window, articulating the Kerm and everything. I greeted Kermit, said that I was sorry but we had closed at 7. I asked him if he wanted any leftover donuts or anything, figuring I could make an exception for Kermit the frog. He said he maybe just wanted a glass of water, but sped off before I could give him one. A bit later, when my closer and I were headed out, we found the Kermit guy sitting in the parking lot. I asked if I could shake Kermit's hand and received a once in a lifetime handshake. We chatter for a minute and then he took off down the main road, going well over the speed limit, Kermit still hanging out the window. I was lucky enough to encounter him again over a year later, during my commute to my college campus. All this to be said: there are certainly people out there who are not afraid to let their freak flag fly when it comes to Kermit the frog. I figured it was worth sharing in the comment section of a video about another, albeit much more problematic, Kermit guy. If you're still out there doing your thing, dude who drives around with Kermit and does a damn good job of bringing him to life, I salute you and I look forward to our next chance encounter. You are an absolute legend, which I mean in a flattering way (but also by which I mean none of my other coworkers would believe my closer and I when we told them about meeting you).

This isn't trolling, it's digital performance art. I can respect the craft. I don't know anything other than what's in the video, but just from this I like how oddly wholesome he is? Like, it seems like the person behind the facade is probably a fairly normal creative person who's been online enough to have witnessed some deeply cursed things, who knows how to utilize sockpuppets and doesn't want to actually hurt anyone. Hence the weird trans-inclusiveness, despite open but shallow misogyny. Shallow to the point of caricature, even. There's an aura of self-awareness that creeps up every so often, and while that ruins the notion of it all being accidentally funny, there's enough that's deliberately funny for me to appreciate. Though "muppet hole" is a phrase that I will never be able to fully erase from my brain, and for that there can be no forgiveness.

For anyone wondering about updates since this video was being made but don't want to venture into Tumblr (valid) -the croaker started a relationship with one of their fans (kermitjokerfannumber4 or smth, refered to as #4). This was short lived however, as #4 got jealous when the croaker posted about missing Ethan. I haven't checked whether #4 is still active, but I believe they want revenge on croaker. Probably either an alt of the croaker or someone else in on the bit. -there are two new players on the scene. One is the Gonzo Batman (NOT the Gonzo kinnie who the polycule replaced Kermit joker with, this is another Gonzo) who vows to take down the croaker. It's been heavily implied the Gonzo batman is someone who knows colter irl. Again, this is probably either the Kermit joker as an alt or someone in on the bit. -as of 3 hours ago, there is also a miss piggy account. This isn't someone kinning miss piggy, but is the wife of miss piggy (who has since disappeared) who also vows to take down the croaker. She seems new and I'm not sure whether she's part of the In Crowd or someone else joining in on the fun. I'm now mutuals with the batman Gonzo. I've never been more proud in my Tumblr career.
