I think she really spoke more. After watching the video and I really did watched all of it I subscribed to her channel but I haven't subscribed to his. I haven't watched her videos yet but I'm more inclined to believe I would like them. Mean while I similarly haven't watched his and while I can get behind what he is doing (it hits very personally to me and I believe its wonderful) I'm hesitant to check his channel out. Entp : ehh Idk I talk and stuff Intp: I'm doing this really proactive thing to empower and better ppl. Me: I'll check the entp out. I'm sure the intp guy probably has alot of really cool and formulated insights and the entp girl is just sorta saying whatever comes to mind. That being said what she did say "spoke" much more than what he *stated* and I think thats a difference. Speaking is more so an action with huge implict participation where as stating carries a non participant non interactive mood to it. The former eliciting interaction in the immediate and contemplation in the forecoming where as the latter amounting to an interesting and you don't say. So to say the into "spoke" the most....i think he address that specific meme best when saying "it only sounds that way cause I had time to think". Just saying. Also point to note at the start of the video I actually didn't like the entp she seemed Idk. And the INTP had my attention, I low key checked the video out to see if I found INTP interesting? Funny how that got flipped around very early into the video at least for me.
I watch a lot of Christians videos on RU-vid and he is such a great guy. He is the one who helps me to finally realize being an INTP. His channel really has helped me with some of the INTP stuff along with just learning to get out of the house and push myself more in order to gain a different energy and grab new ideas. Something he is doing with the mental health and diagnosis is what I advocate for on my channel. Also I just enjoy watching enTP and jaycee is awesome. I totally get what she saying about working in specific fields. This is a great episode.
I agree that INTPs should not focus too much on the type of path that works with Ni users. Instead, we have Si and it's about the process. Whether you have the specific Ni endgoal in your mind or whether you take steps that fit you as a person, both will guide you. Also someone else once said that INTPs should focus on movement rather than actually knowing whether they really know they are moving in the right direction in advance. The INTP functions will let you know where you have to tweak your path naturally, without effort as long as you just keep moving (which is the hardest)
Yess!! Another option is brainstorming an end goal/grand vision with a Ni user. :) I love the idea of outsourcing skills that are less natural to us to others who like it and find it easy. But yes one hundred percent. Movement is key. You don't need to know where; Just keep the momentum.
@@JoyceMeng22 Ni user brainstorming: gets one particular idea out of it - soon wants to stop the brainstorming Ne user: gets tons of ideas, but not a particular one that seems outstanding to them - wants to keep brainstorming However, the Ni user and Ne user might not agree about the ultimate thing
Wow, thanks so much for that comment. So helpful. Do you have, or have you ever considered having a channel or podcast about this stuff? I have no use for flattery but I see a lot of your comments on INTP-related videos and find your thoughts quite valuable and interesting. I think a lot of other INTPs would agree.
Thanks so much for your contribution Christian. So inspiring and helpful to me. You definitely made an impact doing this talk! I'm heading over to your channel to check it out! :)
*Some other some related thoughts I had from watching this video about Ne and typical goals* Ne types are not helped by a clean vision or goal because on themself they are too disconnected from reality. A vision is an internal thing that neither excists in the sensory world and neither is an external abstract entity either. If it's not either one of those, then it's Ni. The thing is that Ne needs to build from a foundation. Ne is like a bridge that can not excist without starting point. After all, a bridge can not just excist in the sky on it's own. It needs a foundation in reality or an *external* foundation in the abstract. It needs something at least. The bridge does not have to be be build towards a specific goal, but it does need a foundation. However, if there is a foundation and possibly an endpoint, Ne's power lies in the creativity to build a bridge from any point to any other point. That is the strength of Ne. While Ni thrives in emptyness, Ne dies in emptyness. While Ni can live on it's own, Ne can not. Just like Te requires a goal to be activated, Ne needs something to become inspired. Ne does not have a desire on itself without anything else. To Ne asking what they want, is like asking which part in an empty place of nothing they prefer to go to. Of course they do not know. Ni is fully separated from reality. It is both internal and abstract. This is why it can excist without external world. The ideas of a baby that is not born yet, will likely be more Ni than Ne. Ne is like the dreams that involve the people you know in a totally mixed up enviroment. Your bother than similarly be your father in your dream. There are no limits how reality can be twisted there. That is basically Ne.
"Ne types are not helped by a clean vision or goal because on themself they are too disconnected from reality." Yes so to contrast that with my experience as a Ni user, I feel like the human embodiment of a clear vision. I have an innate sense of clarity that is just there. I can't imagine being Ne. 🤯Blows my mind to read about needing foundation. I speculate that all extroverted functions need some sort of "bridge-building." They cannot exist on their own but need an external tether. Your comparison of Ni versus Ne at the end is so good. You should consider writing a book. Heck, I'd totally write a book with you about Ne vs Ni. (Being serious haha, you can message me at joyce.meng@ryerson.ca if you ever want to be a part of my Ni grand vision) This is so amazingly said :)!!
Excellent. I experience this with design. It's so much harder for me to start with a blank slate. I need something there first to work with and figure out what the best way to solve some problem with what already exists there in some logical and artistic way. Your explanation of Ne vs Ni here explains all that for me. Did you take Joyce up on her book collab offer? Might be a great opportunity for movement in a great direction...I'm routing for you dude!! :)
Thank you so much for doing this talk Jaycee! This was such a helpful talk for me and I loved the conversation and your thoughtful contributions to it! One of the many things I appreciated was what you said about your career path...I've been concerned for a long time about being stuck in a career path and then being interested in so many other things, so any tips regarding this was really helpful to hear! :))
ENTP here: I have come to learn to appreciate the monorail as I’ve gotten older. A framework of stability that is sort of imposed on me is fine provided that I have flexibility within it. Ultimately one has to be in an environment where their strengths can be free. For the ENTP, they have to have space to explore possibilities just as the ISFJ needs to have space to recall the facts of the day and reconcile them with their social network. *It is a need.* But we have other needs as well. The ENTP also needs to organize those thoughts, show care for others, and have a foundation of stability to know where he’s coming from. Looking at these things as needs in right proportion is really changing how I approach myself and others.
It is a need; that's a great way of putting it, Mike. There's definitely a magnetism we have towards using our dominant function. The monorail can seem at opposition with Ne, so it can be hard to integrate. Nice work with accepting more of that Si in your life!
The best shortcut for an INTP: *Get Fe-dom girlfriend* - They love your Ti-insights (you will feel appreciated) - They will have friends that you can give Ti-advice to (especially other Fe-Ti friends will typically like that - you feel appreciated even more) - Easier to meet new people with them - Movement/action will be easier since they're more action orientated In other words: Your weakness will be somewhat balanced out. Sure, you can and should fight your shortcomings, but achieve this and your life will be easier *Bonus add on* - No more basement - they will typically have a house
1. You have an incredible sense of humor 2. This is a great recommendation (Good case backed up by solid reasons! Even though any type can be with any type; Fe dom seems like a good match after reading this) 3. Now we need INTPs to try this and get back to us 😂... For science.
Wow Joyce, I can't tell you how inspiring and helpful this video is! So glad I stumbled on it. Your work is having an impact on so many I'm sure!! Thank you so much, and thank you also to Jaycee and Christian for your contributions! :))
Been binging on your content for the past three days all because I am confused whether I am an INTP or INTJ. Took the test three times this month and the first time I got INTP and second and third time INTJ.
Yeah it can be pretty tricky figuring it out and it can take a lot of patience and time! It took me about 5 years to finally settle on one type! 1st test INTJ, then a few INFJs, then back and forth between INFP, INFJ and INTP, then INTP. I had to learn the cognitive functions and watch a ton of videos before I understood how and why I was testing the way I was. People you're raised by, the jobs you've had, the life situation you're in (parent/care-giver or not), gender, etc, can have a big impact on how you test in a lot of these behavioural-based tests. I found CS Joseph's personality test very useful and different compared to the typical personality test. Definitely one of the aha moments for me. Joyce's type talk have also been very useful, and the many type comparison videos if you're trying to narrow down between 2 types! I'm sure you can figure out your type sooner than I did though, especially if you end up getting profiled by Joyce or another good, certified profiler.
PS - I just subscribe to Christian's channel and on his website he has a free course called "Are you really an INTP?". Within that course there's a video called "INTP or INTJ?" that's 19min long. Maybe that will be useful to you?
Doesn't that mean it's useful? Not directly to the world, but if your worldview change you into a better person that's still useful nonetheless. Te worldview is often too shallow.
I had to do a censor yesterday by the goverment , every one or get fined £1000..it takes 10 mins , thats all.. and my ex Te intj texts me , I have to do it.. and it pissed me off so much with feeling controlled by the goverment and the ex.. in the end I did it but jesus.. the hate I felt for authority was so hard..30 mins it took me in the end.
