You can customize your key to centre in the model if F9 is colliding with your recording software. Window>Tools and Docking Windows>Customise. Select keyboard and the category Vector. In that command list you will find "Centre in Model" to select the new key. Looks like most of the shortcuts can be customized.

Nice video! Thank you. You said near the end of the video that this program is much easier to use than the one you were using before. If you don't mind me asking, which one were you using before? I've been working with Fusion 360, and it isn't very easy.
@ChrisPowellFSD
@ChrisPowellFSD 2 года назад
Carbide Create. It’s a simple program, it you have to do a lot to get it to do anything besides basic stuff. Carveco Maker just has a lot more options. Fusion is a pain. I could never get the CAM part figured out.
@clintwhitsett
@clintwhitsett Год назад
I really enjoyed the video but it left me wondering what the next step is. You briefly mentioned something at the end about selecting a post processor and Carbide Motion..."load up Carbide Motion, initialize your machine, load that program and you'd be ready to go." I'm new to this so it sounds like I would need a couple different programs from different companies to string this all together. I have a background working in Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, Blender and a little SolidWorks so it shouldn't be too hard for me to get up to speed on Carveco Maker. What's confusing is the next steps after you finished this video. I'm asking because I'm about to pull the trigger on a Onefinity Journeyman as my first cnc. I'm creating a shopping list of all the "other stuff" I'll need to buy to get up and running. Software is my missing link. Thanks very much!

Great video Chris, are you done doing CC tutorials? The reason I ask is I had to download a new version of CC because the one I was using crashed. Chris: I'm having trouble grasping CNC/Carveco Maker. Example: I am trying to follow along and do what you do in the video. One of the first things when you click on the OK button on the New Model screen the new model pops up along with a Project/Model Panel on the right side. I have looked every where and cannot find out to display that panel. It is these kind of things that get me confused. Can you/anyone help?

Chris, I've been looking for an alternative program that will do more than what CC can provide. Doesn't seem to have a huge learning curve so I might be able to handle this. Thanks
@ChrisPowellFSD
@ChrisPowellFSD 3 года назад
I was a little intimidated when I first looked at it. Now that I’ve actually started using it though, it seems very natural. The layout is logical, and the buttons mostly do what I expect. It’s also nice having the message pop up telling you what a button means. They have a lot of tutorials on it already, which has been helpful.
