Gracie you are a genius. I cannot begin to tell you how much your videos help. Instead of learning chords and trying to remember them ' Parrot Fashion' I now break them down into Roman Numerals as you have suggested in previous videos. It makes it so much easier once you get used to it. I did this on a song called Louis Louis by the Kingsmen. It works. This lesson has taught me so much more. I have never heard of 5 of 5 but always wondered where these 'odd' 7ths came in as they were not in a pure Diatonic Scale. Every time I watch your videos I learn so much. Your Circle of fifths is such an eye opener I recommend it to any and everyone. Cannot thank you enough. Have a great Christmas and a wonderful new year. Alan

Merci for your videos. You have a great teaching method for beginners (like moi) so that we aren't beginners anymore. Too many teachers expect a deep understanding of music theory and aren't cut out at teaching at a beginner level. It's a gift and you share that with the world and it is well appreciated. I am working on learning what I can in all chords in every key. I'm doing like you recommend and doing one key per day. I sat through all of your classes and so I know the keys, but masterning them is the practical part. I don't want to miss out on the basics.

I;fyou learn the order of the diatonic chords, it's a bit easier. The order of diatonic chords goes like this: Maj, Min, Min, Maj, Maj, Min, Dim, Maj (that last is the octave). Also helps to know the order of the intervals of the scale. The intervals of a major scale go like this: Tone, Tone, Semitone, Tone, Tone, Tone, Semitone. If you remember those two sequences, it's easy to find the chords for any key. This does work better on guitar than other instruments simply because the guitar neck is divided into semitones. One fret jump is a semitone, a two fret jump is a tone.

Hello , congratulations on your clear explanation of harmonizing scales and in reverse finding back the related chords ( or a sugestion of). When talking about second dominant chords, can that be related to the Circle of the fifth or is the chord progression of mr Sandman for example also all second dominants (B7 E 7 A7 D7 G7 Cmaj7) I was missing also a bit explanation about "turn arounds" On a lot of sheet music papers you see text and chords but i miss the link between the next verse like a Imaj IIIdim IIm V7 or I VIm IIm V7 (and all the possible substitutions you can try out But my most important question is : what is the model/brandname of your beautiful ukulele

One thing I didn't understand is why you refer to the fifth chord in the scale as "G7" and "D7" (for C+ and G+, respectively) when they're just basic major triads, as opposed to 7th chords...
