Thank you for this informative video. I took a Mokuhunga class years ago and have not done anything woodblock printing using Nori Paste since. What a wonderful idea to use it in many different ways, especially with the gelli plate and watercolors. Hope to see the video of you using watercolors with the plate.

It has a subtle, pleasant smell. Many starch-based pastes use natural extracts and oils as mild preservatives. Some say products in this category smell like almonds or mint, but the water carrier and dextrin binder have no real smell of their own.
We think a workable fixative would be a good option if a patch test showed the past reactivating colors, but it might not be necessary, depending on the paint/paper combination.
