I bought my 2020 R at the beginning of December. Love it. I've been on motorcycles since 1973. It was beginning to be a chore to throw my leg over my ultra glide..I did make it easy for my family to get Christmas gifts for me this year. I have used my bike to travel for my youtube channel. Going sling
Lloyd, Are you thinking about a top? I live in the south like you and I know the sun can be quite harsh during the summer months. It would be good to get a bit of relief when sitting still in traffic or on the road for a while. I also come from a motorcycle background and I’m sure it’s similar in sun exposure but no options on a bike.
Actually yes I am definitely getting a top. Problem is I have not decided on which one. I also like idea of a rollbar. I am leaning towards the gull wing type.
@@jerrymcnabb622 yes it does slightly. I either look under the edge of the top or through the tinted plastic window made into the top depending upon the distance I stop from the traffic light. However, this doesn’t bother me….I just had to get adjusted to it. You might find a better hard top, but having a top definitely increases the comfort level by keeping the sun from beating down on you.
That's a really nice ride! I've been debating getting a Indian Challenger or Polaris Slingshot. It's a tough choice. I see you bought the male version, 5 speed manual. LOL!!
I have riden street bikes, cruisers, Harley, scooters and I have had a Goldwing. All were great. I am almost 50 and it hurts to ride for long anymore so I decided to try the Slingshot. This by far has been the most fun!
@@polarisslingshotmechanic1447 I joined the 50 club a couple years ago. I haven't owned a motorcycle in 10 years. I'm getting the itch again. I've had my fair share of sport-bikes & a couple Harleys. I test drove a Slingshot in I believe 2015. The brakes were horrible!!
@@gixxr2busa The 2022 have a Brembo brake system available. I have the 2021 R and I drive it hard. It stops well. I do have plans to try the higher level of performance brake pads offered for my model. BUT......I will eventually end up with the Brembo upgrade.
@@polarisslingshotmechanic1447 I prefer the 2021 R model. How much should I be looking to spend on a leftover 2021 R 5 speed manual? It's not many 5 speed manual in the Illinois area.
@@gixxr2busa I paid 30k cash price. Brembo upgrade is 2k if you install it yourself. Then this thing would be perfect. But honestly I drive hard and the brakes have been fine. I am waiting on more "go fast" options to become available. Then I will need better stopping power. The new 2.0 prostar engine doesn't have a lot of performance options yet in the R model.
