Thank you Kat and Ethan for producing this very helpful new puppy series. Although, I’m a lifelong dog owner with training experience, I found this playlist very informative. We will add a new Brittany puppy to our family in February 2022. The ability to watch your playlist with my wife and children to ensure that we are all training to the correct standard was invaluable!

Boy that brings back memories. The squirming around, the bundle of energy. At that stage she had 2 speeds. GO GO go or sleep. We lost our GSH the day after new years but she was close to 15 years old. She hated to have people even touch her feet. Our vet after looking at her nails for a couple of years told us not to worry about it because she seemed to be doing it yourself. The only ones we trimmed was her dew claws.

We adopted a puppy he’s 4 months old He’s a bitter playfully at the start then gets very viscous We are working with him He’s a hard one we haven’t had a puppy like this

I'm taking in all I can about the for a later friend as I had the Jack Russell for the last fifteen years, I do understand the energy package but this will be a much larger companion. However Molly was a true asset to the whole family and a security guard worth her weight in gold. Thanks for a great video 👍

Getting a Field Springer puppy soon! Wondering about the snake toy with the rope through it, no squeaker. I don't see it in either your recommended toys or in your store. Can you provide a link, manufacturer or something I can "go to" to find this? LOVE the clippers idea ... they make so much sense! I've used the guillotine clippers and I'm just not as confident with them as I think I will be with the clippers you feature.

I've read a couple highly recommended "classic" books and they talk about never playing tug of war with a versatile dog due to issues with hard mouth etc when retrieving down the road. Can you explain your differing philosophy a little? Is this something that has changed in general in the modern setting?

Hello please can you help, I have an English pointer puppy he is 14 weeks old, I’m worried about over exercising him. How much would you reccomend for walking / playing with him per day? I currently take him on 1 30 minute walk plus play sessions although I’ve seen conflicting stuff online. Thanks

I don’t think you can over exercise him. If he seems to still have energy than continue to let him play.

This is a behavioral issue that is developed before you even bring your pup home. Different theories include, poor mothering, early weaning, or just improper weaning. Unfortunately we don’t know of any good way to help extinguish the behavior besides removing the things she sucks from her environment... let us know if you do come up with anything that works!

Hi! I highly recommend Kong toys and cow hoofs or any other bone as they will destroy anything else.

I also recommend you have *at least* half an acre of land. I also recommend that your dog not be in the kennel for more than 6 hours a day. (Non-Covid times) They are super great dogs as long as they have the right person.

My last GSP pup was a biter at that age. Sharp puppy teeth, she destroyed all her toys unlike my other GSP's. Grew out of biting by 4 months, but would tear toys apart most of her life. Didn't translate to hard mouthing birds though.

Rinkle no problem. Properly socialized puppies adjust very quickly to new environments! So we move on to good behaviors right away!

Rinkle there isn’t a “how to raise a child the right way” handbook as there are probably 50 different things one does when bringing a puppy home- no two people alike. So I say, to each their own.

Not disputing your philosophy on playing tug (your CV beats mine anyway) but I don't encourage pups to any behavior that I will have to train out later.

Do your females urinate frequently? I've had mine checked out by the vet and they say they (I have two girls, one urinates slightly more often then the other) might grow out of it. Very trepidacious about house training.

The have access to fresh water at all times except bed time. They are both seven months old.

Rocks Corner we typically recommend when struggling with potty training to monitor when water is offered. At this point we would say offer as much water as they would like to drink in the morning and at around noon and in the evening so that you have a better idea of when they will actually need to go to the bathroom.

Rinkle YES! We do trim nails and clean ears right from the beginning. These are regular parts of life and the sooner the pup learns this the easier life will be down the road! Thanks for watching!
