Today we're introducing coturnix quail chicks to the growout hutch!
Today we've got some chicks that have outgrown the brooder and are ready for the growout hutch in my backyard. They have fully featherd out, and will no longer need to be under the heat lamps. I took them outside on a 72° day for reference.

Great timing, I'm just getting ready to move some chicks to the growout. I'll try that vinegar trick! Also, that's a great quail coop. I love the way you painted it!

Awesome channel. You always give good info, I've got 29 in the brooder now that are 9 days old and 35 more ready to hatch Labor Day. I will try this technique when it's time to put them together. Thanks..

What you do in the winter to keep happy and alive. I was raised in Warren, PA in know it gets cold and windy. Good luck with your flock.

Will have to try this vinegar method when we get our next set of quail. I wonder if it would work on chickens? LOL

I just blended 3wk with 6wk. Some disturbance until I took out 2 dominant roosters, quieted right down. I am going to try the vinegar spray next time.

Yeah I noticed my two big roosters were calm but the smallest/loudest one was CRANKY and started going after all the young hens and mounting them. Then pecking the young roos. I took him out and introduced him to freezer camp and everything settled down

Cool vid man. I like the idea of using the apple cider vinegar to confuse them. 😂 Are some of those Manchurian/Tuxedo crosses? And 72 degrees wow. It’s 92 here! 😡

I seen the vinegar water spray used for the first time the other day & was wondering just how well it works. Looks like your guys did pretty good with it. I'll be locking down 39 eggs tonight & in a few weeks will have to introduce them to the breeders or put them in the growout cage. 🤞

I have never used the spray method. I try to put mine in the group very fast so the birds don't have just 1 or two new birds to pick on. I put 10 in at a time and never have an issue because it's such a change.
