Theres actually no compromise when it comes to blunt force with this armor. Its solidly inside the NIJ safe zone and provides the same protection as much thicker armor!

As long it have backface deformation less than 44mm it will hurt like hell but, broke your ribs but won't actually kill you (not sure it's a good or a bad thing though).

Dont forget about FRAS Hyperline! Both of these are a wayyyy out but they are being planned! The Plus model will likely consist of a very thin upgrade insert to go in front of the standard Hyperline panel. So if you go for the current Hyperline you can upgrade it later!

Something i would like to see is a dedicated carrier for soft+hard armor. Sure, you can stuff some hard plates in the SafeLife 3a vests or go FRAS, but that's not what i mean. More like a regular plate carrier, plus some very flexible 3a for a cummerbund and lower upper body, like the groin danglers but 360 degree. The military might not be concerned about pistol rounds or gut shots because they have medevac choppers, but i don't. SHTF and you don't even have a hospital at all. So for civilians and LEOs, a comfortable everyday soft+hard vest would be really cool. And this thin stuff would make for a great "gut protection ring" below hard plates on your chest.

I currently have the 3a+. The plan was to wait for it to expire and get the fras with a uniform vest style carrier so I could just wear it as a every day vest 🤷🏻‍♂️. I think this line with the fras insert plate that is being planned would be way better though. I’m excited to see what’s next.

I'm sure you've done your market research, but as a civilian just looking for no so much daily protection so much as real bad situation protection, its a hard sell on non-rifle rated armor at that price. I'm am glad to see you always developing new and great armor and glad its out there for those such as LE that need it. Own and love your FRAS as well as your 3a+ and look forward to what you come up with in the future with the hyperline. Keep up the great work. PS: have you though of a "long" size line? Give an extra couple inches of length for us dudes that are tall and a bit lanky?

I am a civilian. I understand the price is a challenge but for me it’s worth it because it’s so thin and I can carry it outside in some situations. For example at the times of the riots I had to drive to a destination and I felt should have had something like this on me. Also older age people who don’t feel like carrying some 20+ pounds on their back.

@Brock Hankins Those vests are designed to protect the vitals (lungs and heart). Shutters aim there. Safelife has some 20% more coverage because it goes around the sides too. Call them about your unique situation. I am sure they will give you the best possible solution. I am 6.2feet and it was too high and I returned it and got a xxLarge. It didn’t arrive yet so we shell see. They told me what to do.

We are working on a Hyperline Plus model! It will be a while before its out. We are thinking since this is so thin we can make an insert that simply goes in front of the standard hyperline model to reach our levels of plus protection. So if you want to get in on the Hyperline system now is the time for sure!

My biggest question is back face deformation. Something so thin has to put a lot of force through to the wearer. Don't get me wrong I think it's great for fully concealed plain clothes protection, but I'm not sure I'd use it in uniform...(I'm an armed security officer)

This is incredible work you guys are doing. I already know your flexible armor plates are the future of body armor, but this has incredible potential to save lives from fragmentation. There is Russian FORT manufacture and a Ukrainian UARM company already producing kevlar lined uniforms that are fragmentation and small arms rated. Do you see any interest in exploring this field? Are you selling them in a set of two or just one plate?

It is slash rated but not stab. For the stab upgrade we are thinking of having an additional insert that could be added to this Hyperline. Since its so thin and tolerances are so tight it would be as if it was still one panel!

They have pushed the release back two or more months I'm very disappointed I made my order mid December and now I have to wait. Sometimes it may look that way at a glace but definitely not. The back of the armor just had some marks form rubbing against the rubber. Nothing even came close to getting through. Maybe we will do a video on Facebook/Insta live showing it. If youre ever in Vegas stop by and come check it out for yourself! Its currently on display.

I am not a security person and it still worth the money for a few reasons : 1. Safelife Defense cover the sides which can save your life where others don’t. 2. The thinnest and lightest. Which can be easily concealed if I am out of home to a place I consider dangerous, for example traveling at times of riots. 3. Because it thin it’s easy to add trauma pads or other plates to improve without making it extra thick. 4. Customer Service. They helped me return and replace and get a perfect measurement. Good people is a sign of a good company. I hope I will never have to test it but “disasters usually happen to those who are unprepared! Not to the fully prepared.”

It can handle light stabs but it is not NIj rated for stab protection. We havent tested tasers yet like our iiia+ model but I dont think it would defend against it. We are planning to make a secondary insert (very thin) to work with this armor to stop both those threats!

The BFD ratings are solidly inside the NIJ Safe zone and ratings outperform most other iiia vests on the market! Blunt force is not a problem. It is AMAZING armor.

Hello! I get your company emails, and have followed you for a couple of years. I am a tall person (6'3") with a long torso, and would be interested in your products if they had more coverage - At least to the navel. I think if you were to offer a extra length model, you would appeal to a larger portion of the market. I know others who feel the same, and have not purchased from you because of this issue. Hey Jon! We don't offer a long model as our standard sizes are already longer than most other armor. We fit people at your height all the time! Give it a shot and I am willing to bet it will be the fit youre looking for.

Why'd you use subsonic ammo? If you could show full power ammo using fmj and hollow point then sure if believe you . But now it looks like your hiding something. How many criminals know about suppressors and subsonic ammo this feels like a huge red flag

It wasn’t subsonic it was standard gold dot duty ammo. We just used a suppressor to avoid needing ears for the video. Check out the Free Field Training video in Hyperline! He truly tortures the armor. We will eventually do our own video with various ammo as well. This was just the first one! You can also find lab reports using .44 mag on our site.

@@SafeLifeDefenseBodyArmor regardless of what you say is true I advise to not use anything with suppressors because that's my first thoughts and I would think blasting that to RU-vid ads might not be the best reaction to your potential customer base. I hold my opinion until I see another video with other weapons/ammo

That is a reasonable assumption but not the case! This is well within the NIJ Safe Zone and provides the same and in many cases blunt force protection than other iiia armor! Its truly a revolutionary armor!
