Tyler nailed it. Outdoors With The Morgans IS addicting. Your interest in the foundation of the various companies (you feature) is so positive - need more of that these days.
You were right in my backyard! Congrats on the new machine, can't wait to hear about the new products. As always, your channel (and family) is very inspiring.
This is so cool thank you for sharing, it was great meeting you guys! We hope you enjoyed touring our facility and learning more about our equipment. We're super excited for you guys to start using your new All-Fill machine and are looking forward to working together in the future!
Thanks for sharing with us Mike and Melissa, sure glad Tyler reached out to you and you two were able to work out something to help you both with your processing your fire starter sales business. Keep up the good work and great videos stay safe and have fun. Fred.
You're in the big time now! I bet your fire starter buyers are happy to see this addition! Almost everything you do is efficient so this is a natural progression Now you can catch up on other things. When I was in high school my dad and a friend had a company where they designed escapement mechanisms on vibratory bowls to count and orient parts before they were put in bags, very interesting and remotely similar to the machine you just bought. Can't wait to see what is in store for the future. Thanks for sharing with us.
That’s cool to hear Dave! We sell a lot of bowl feed counting machines integrated with Autobaggers. I was mezmorized the first time I saw a bowl fed counter in action
I believe my first view of OWTM was Video #67 with 20k Subs. Who could have predicted the growth of your Channel and the variety of your subject matter. Long ago, youz guyz became a part of my daily routine. ♥️ I am guessing you have never been busier event when you blew things up. All the best to the Morgans from West Central Florida.
Mike I remember when you started with your first video and you said didn't know if it would take off and look at you now! Just shows with your work ethic and drive you can excel. Love your channel. Thanks
This is really Awesome, you will get more product moving. Then you can play with another item. The Ball will be rolling faster. Congratulations to all of you!
I was a pipefitter and worked in a few food plants. From pizza making equipment to fluids(soaps) it all starts with a machine that weights each portion. Can't wait to see it operating.
Wow, isn't it nice when others see that you have a need, and try to help you out. This will make it easier to process the fire starter. Keep them coming.
Having worked in manufacturing I was amazed at all of the automated gear. To Melissa’s point I knew things had to be out there but it is amazing how products are packaged. Nice video, guys!
Some serious equipment. Certainly appears well designed and manufactured. Appears to be all stainless steel for ease of sanitation / processing of edible products. Many companies would never allow cameras in manufacturing. Credit to All-fil and their cooperation. Good luck with your new endeavor and the new products coming?
I want to congratulate you guys. You have easily cemented Levis future in less than a year. Can't wait to see what else you all have up your sleeves next. You have a very very blessed life for all of you to enjoy the health that you do.
Agree with you 100% on controlling ice. Last Winter I had 3 friends in the hospital on the same day due to falling on the ice. One broken hip, one severe concussion, one smashed face.
So cool Mike! Your new loader for your fire starter vibrates just like you vibrate your loader to spread the rock! Good luck to you, Melissa and the rest of the Morgan crew!
You know what? This is so inspirational in so many ways. First, witnessing OWTM continuing to grow! Then getting to see videos Mike creates/shares of other entrepreneurs, small business owners and side-hustlers. Capitalism at its best. Something that happens when people have the freedom to work, create products as well as, create jobs for others. Thank you, Mike for sharing this and strong work, once again.
Mike, I used to work in an oil packaging plant. When I first went to work there, I thought that watching all the different fillers was so interesting. Thanks for bringing back a bunch of great memories. Have a great time using the new equipment. Have a great day.
Love your channel Mike. If you don’t mind I’m curious and have a couple questions. Does this machine only load fire starter into a premade bag or does it make the bag, seal and label it. If not I’m assuming this feature might be able to be added in the future. My last question is the chips you’re using to make the fire starter a byproduct of your business or do you have to buy the wood chips to package.
Mike this brought back some great memories for me. I used to sell pneumatic fittings to some of the packaging industry. Also I can see the portable log splitter being driven to the building to use in filling the hopper.
I started watching Buck N Billy Ray back in 2020 when COVID hit he's a one man force in the wood industry...he inturn turned me on to the Morgans...it's been fun watching your family grow your business IQ grow just about everything you tackle your a success at... you've been àround a lot longer than I've been watching...continued success
Hello! 🙂 Very interesting video today! My first exposure to a packaging machine was a hay baler. It always fascinated me how the baler packs the hay, wraps twine around it, ties a knot in the twine and ejects the bale out the back. Very complicated machine.
I hadn’t thought of a hay baler as a packaging machine, but yeah, you’re right. Ours was an Allis-Chalmers small round bale machine, so we didn’t have to fool with the knotter. I understand fixing those was the majority of service calls. I commented to my dad once that the baler was fantastically complicated, and he reckoned the combine was moreso. It doesn’t package, but it cuts, separates, and cleans. And both machines do this on a mobile platform. Pretty impressive stuff.
Congrats on the new equipment. In my mind increased efficiency is a win-win in terms of lowering cost and improving quality. I am curious about the amount of time it take to position the bags for filling and then removed when full. Is automating that part of the process your next move?
If you take a piece of 2” schedule 40 pipe and split it down the middle you can slide it over the cutting edge and then you can blade gravel driveways without grabbing gravel, rock, unfrozen material. I use the same on my plow in the early winter before things freeze and the spring when things start to thaw out. Makes a huge difference in how much gravel I have to clean off the lawn.
Interesting episode. Being a Electrical Engineer in Manufacturing, I like equipment and automation. It looks like your challenge is going to be getting bulk fire starter into the hopper since it is up so high. Side Bar, there is actually a gas inside potato chip bags to cut down the oxygen level to help reserve them longer. Many times its nitrogen but they do use other inert gases as well. Have a day.
Wow! You guys are moving on up in the manufacturing world. Lol! Love following you guys. You just never know what lies around the corner with you. Keep up the good work!
Congratulations on your new machine and thank you for the cool tour!!! I felt like I was watching "How it's made" 😊. Looking forward to what you have in store for the future!!
As a retired Pharmaceutical mechanic I had many years of exposure to all types of manufacturing and packaging equipment. It’s a world of its own. My wheels were always turning!
@@JWells-mz1jr maintain and repair pharmaceutical production equipment that manufactures safe, pure and effective medicines to ensure it remains in a validated state.
Fantastic video , I enjoy mechanical equipment I use to work as a machinist at a company called AMERICAN OLEAN TILE company in Lansdale PA. .Iwould build a machine called a Chroma-sorter quality control. It would check for many different checks and cast out the tiles that had a defect at a very high rate of speed. The actual machine was very long and required personnel to monitor. Thank You Mike keep up the good work .Charles Fealy
I used to work maintenance at a company that made and packaged dove soap. It was very interesting to see it go from liquid to bar and packaging. It had 4 lines of soap that ran 24/7. Climate controlled year-round and smelled good! lol
👍👍👍👍👍👌Such an eye opening video and interesting back story of how this particular company started by gramps selling augers from his pick up truck, and how the bigger plan was formed by family members always improving the product line, loved it. Thanks for sharing
I suspect they do, but I hope your kids can see the business that Mike and Melissa are building and embrace it so Mom and Dad have something very special to leave them after they depart this life and enter the next.
The bagger is something I would love to see running. I work in production my whole career and I love all types of machinery. So I hope you video the operation when you get it up and running. I will be especially curious as to how you approach filling and sealing the bags.
Anything you get to speed up the process is always a bonus, looking forward to seeing what the next products will be! The machine should make the process more efficient and easier on all of you! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
Really enjoyed this one. Had me thinking about my little boy and his curiosity for how anything and everything works. His intuition is remarkable and he sure keeps me humble. Thanks Mike. Hopefully your investment pays off quickly and I thank you for your time and content .
Mike , I use to work at a potato chip plant . I use to operate one of the drop filling packaging machines . Check out how chips are packaged . I told a friend that’s what you needed awhile back !!!
Morning Mike, new equipment is always exciting, when are you hiring? Just picked up a "new to me" compact tractor with loader... Fun times... Pete from Canada 🇨🇦
Mike maybe bagging the F/S in the future could be changed to a small amount be put in a strip packing (30/40 to a package 1-3/4# package) Then each package could be thrown into the firebox. That way the customer would not have to retie the plastic bag and put it on the shelf. I'm now wondering where you get the wood chips (Jerry) & how will you load the hopper, another video I hope? 😷 ⚾
I knew about the reason for air in bags. But when those bags of UTZ chips make it here at 5600' the bags are so full of air they feel like they're going to pop the bag. In the 70's I worked at the research lab for a food company. We were making a Granola based cereal and we had a vertical bag forming filler. The seal on the vertical portion of the bag didn't form a separate protrusion. I've been trying to remember the manufacturer but no luck. The bags came off the filler and went up a conveyor to a belt on an ADCO cartoner. A person manually inserted the the bags into the formed carton which then continued on to be sealed. That particular machine was a pain in my you know what as it frequently broke down. I was doing maintenance at that time.
This made me laugh. 40 years at Hershey, always worked bulk milk handling/processing. From time to time I would need to go through the finished goods areas. The Kiss, Hugs and Nugget lines had gigantic versions of this type of bucket scale system. Many many more buckets on each machine and a fin seal bagger that moved at breathtaking speed. The only draw back I see with your system...Your hopper is gonna go empty soooooo fast hehehe. I see a conveyor and bulk bin in your future. Once you get a feel for this bucket scale, you will be shocked how fast you go through product. While they are less consumer friendly, you might want to investigate a tape seal machine for your bag closure. Big roll of tape, give the bag a twist and as you push it in the sealer it puts a wrap of tape on the bag and seals it to its self. Good luck....This thing will be a blast to run.
GREAT video, Mike and Melissa! Love the technical and 'behind the scenes' stuff. Neat company and products. The timing was perfect, too. Received 2 bags of fire starter in today's mail 👍🤣 THANKS
Morning from BUCKS county, pa Congrats on the new machine. Looking forward to see how it optimizes the business. Im sure it will be a great piece to the collection. Have a day Morgan's thanks again.
Good analysis Mike. You looked at the bottleneck in your operation and reduced the time at that operation which helps with your over all throughput. Next step is the determine the next operation that slows down the production. An ideal line would have all operations with similar cycle times. for more information, search "Lean Manufacturing" or "Theory of Constraints". (guru Eliyahu M. Goldratt). You are on your way to being an industrial engineer.
Wow, this video was very, very interesting and fun! I had heard that about air in bags before, but does that really work? I mean I still get lots of crumbs! So cool Mike. Boy you sure make great videos. Like Tyler, I became addicted to your channel after maybe 3 videos. When Melissa came and helped you saw on the mill, that cinched it right there. My kind of activity, my kind of man and a beautiful wife that helps!!!? Really, few wives follow their husbands around outside helping him. This channel has been in my #1, top favorite for 5 years now! I can't get out and do now because of my health, but this channel makes up somewhat, idk, just helps me mentally. As always, I can't thank you enough for putting your life and family on RU-vid, giving everyone something real and good! Love all yall! Just can't wait on the next post - hurry!👍🚜❤🇺🇸🇺🇸
