You're a part of the problem. The vast majority of TBL in the US are good, don't let the few bad apples ruin it for everyone. Plus, the situation in the US is COMPLETELY different than in NZ so it's unfair to compare.

das wright NZ police do not routinely carry firearms. They carry pepper spray, tasers and batons. All are trained in the use of use of the Glock pistol and Bushmaster rifle and wear a holster attachment for the pistol to enable carriage of the firearm if necessary. Firearms are stored in safes in the boot of their vehicles and can be used with a supervisor’s permission. After the mosques shootings all NZ police carried arms for a time in response. At the end of this month Armed Response Teams are being trialled in 3 areas in NZ. These teams will be routinely armed and support frontline officers. NZ citizens have not been disarmed. You can still apply for a firearms licence and buy firearms.
