Introducing the next evolution of the 90 Series - the 92XI. The 92XI brings the long-awaited frame mounted safety to the standard 92 family of products, as well as a single action only variant and various ergonomic enhancements. Featuring a flat trigger profile for consistent engagement, a lightweight skeletonized hammer, Vertec style frame built for comfort, heavily-checkered frame, fiber optic front sight for faster sight acquisition, and the option for MRDS optics mounting makes this a high performing, reliable choice for personal defense and competition.

Some where in a weapons locker, a 1911 met an M9, they became close, bonded over time and a few years later the 92x was born.

Safety, single action, shoulda had a straight back trigger pull....then for modernization a rotating barrel(PX4) Lack of grip safety should make dropping the hammer easier..... there's an ammo store does videos, the guy dropping hammer on 1911 is hilarious Being a 1911 guy since 79 I've discovered double action and decockers to be handy, and my 1911 has half cocked safety

It is actually a return to form. The very old Model 92s had frame mounted safties. The first version of the 92 to have a slide mounted is this one sitting on my desk here, the Model 92S. It was a request from law enforcment. Not sure why really. The Taurus pistols were modeled after the original 92, so they kept producing with frame mounted till this day. Anyway, if I have a chance, I am sure I will get one of these. Round out fo 92 collection...and just have a good handgun to shot.

I'm hoping Beretta innovates one day and gives us a special trigger that allows us to switch between frame mounted decockers and safety, similar to CZ's omega trigger. I hope that one day they select some of their iconic pistols and make kits that are in different calibers for those pistols. Simple slide swap and mag swap. I used a 92 as my concealed carry for years - I always carried it with hammer down, decocker in the fire position. With the length of pull required in DA and the trigger guard entirely covered by holster, I am confident is not a safety hazard to carry in that condition. Probably one of the best 92 version. It will be interesting even the "brigadier" reinforced slide. Personally I prefer closed light conventional slide. Stainless steel, shorter barrel, fiber optic 1.5mm and light rail are positive aspects. Shape of the trigger is nice, maybe the break point should be 2mm sooner, from the video. SAO is best operating system for me. A compact 4 inches model will be nice also. Remove firing pin safety, no deckocker and keep minimalistic internal mechanics. 🇮🇹 Italy

I chose a TDA pistol for a reason and for that I prefer the decocker out of the way, on the slide. Neverthesless, it seems that the majority of people who like Berettas but have less interest in the TDA manual or arms would have preferred if Beretta would have moved the safety/decocker to the frame but kept the double action, allowing the pistol to be carried in Condition 1 - following the 80X rather than the 1911. The optimization potential for the 92 trigger is the highest of the TDA pistols, but not quite at the 1911 level. Therefore, creating a TDA pistol that can be carried in Condition 1 would have had an advantage over 1911/2011s with the second strike capability.
