how to be a successful synth company? just listen to your clients and and do even better than they dreamed by the way do you have any granular synthesis product?
When that classic trance sounding melody starts at around 7:51 my mind was blown and I immediately felt a sense of happiness. This thing is brilliant !
more videos like this please! Very practical. You can picture how you can use it in this. rather than just capabilities and weird sounds. This was more composed in a way
I am a guitarist who fell a bit out of love with my instrument. I however am fascinated by synths. Perhaps this one will be my first ? This product sounds great.
Been playing MIDI guitar for 30 years. Go get a 13 pin Godin equipped MIDI guitar or what I use is the Fishman Triple PLay wireless MIDI pickup. I can play my Moog synth using my guitar not the keys on the Moog. Same with plugins in Ableton especially the dope cool ones like Omnisphere, Serum etc. I have Komplete 13 Ultimate which has like 50 virtual synths or some crazy number like that so that takes your guitar to places you never could have imagined. Yep.....gotta drop $400 for Fishman pickup and also need a sound engine. Fishman makes an app for Ipad that people use playing live and a foot pedal to switch between patches. Worth checking out like the Casio but this is wireless solution and can go on almost any guitar with perfect tracking and intonation (at least perfect for me). worth checking out.
Got mine this week. The is the best bang for the buck you can find. Impressive sound, quite easy to use (was able to build some sequences without reading doc...). The patch points are a definitive big plus. Sad they didn't use something else than a 3.5 jack for sound output !
Brilliant!!!! As a proud owner of all released Behringer synths you have a new fanboy over here! Now please rack FX. Deepmind has probably the best FX ever built in in a synth. Shame I cant use them with other gear.
Deepmind has TC electronic FX right? TC and Behringer are both part of the Music Tribe company. TC sells rack FX starting at €120 iirc. If Behringer does the same (or even cheaper) they'll compete with their sister company. That's why TC makes quality stompboxes for around €120 and Behringer makes plasticy (but still pretty nice) fx for €20-40. I don't even thibk they make V-amp multi FX boxes anymore (also came in rack form).
I literally just ordered the Odyssey. And NOW you guys already have me wanting to get this next!!! My first Synth with you guys was the neutron. Thank you so much for your work Behringer!!!!
I'm pretty sure that within 2 years I'll have at least 6 or 7 Behringer analog synths. I have a model D and am already in line to buy a DM12, UBXa, Crave, 303 and 909 clones, and Pro 1. I'll probably have those before this time next year if they all become available. I think I'm the most stoked for the OBXa and 303 clones though. Gearlust is strong. Behringer is an awesome company when it comes to listening to what the customers want! I have an OB-6 but still can't wait to hear the UBXa..
@@lorensteele2962 you really think so? I have 7 of the Roland Boutiques, SH-01A being one, it's pretty great and from what I've heard on RU-vid the MS-1 doesn't seem that great. Maybe I just haven't heard a good demo yet.
the crave is a super nice synth and if you get multiple you can get very creative. on big thing i miss, is the option to change the patterns after they finished the current run. if i change patterns, ins immediate and most of the time it results in sync problems with my other devices. since this sequencer is in many of your products, you should definetly implement this feature, since wiht would contribute much to the playability of you instruments and helps a lot with playing live. live sequencing is another thing, that would be much appreciated. peace
@Behringer Would be awesome to get sequencer direction controls (much like it's M-flavored inspiration) for playing sequence forward, backwards, pendulum and especially random steps. Would take it to another level of generative possibilities, thanks for a great synth!
I've been waiting for this since it was first announced. It's a great companion to my Neutron. Although I was "craving" this thing for months, you guys took so long to release it, I ended up buying a 42hp 3+1U eurorack case and 6 modules for it since then. Can't afford to buy the Crave anymore lol I still say this is a great companion to a Neutron especially if you're new to modular synths like me.
@@ftj4441 I think the Crave is a good companion to the Neutron if you're new to modular because they are both very affordable, having a 3rd (simpler) OSC of the same type is great, another different filter is useful, plus having an extra LFO+envelope for more modulation helps to expand your patches. Then there's the sequencer section that can be used with the Neutron. So I see the Crave as a Neutron Expander. That's also the direction I went with my small eurorack case, I call it my Neutron Expander
@@ftj4441 for sure the Crave can't be beat for that price. Thinking about the money I'd save if I'd buy the Crave was worth the wait. Though after continuing research on modular (Patch&Tweak, great book) I realized that I wanted to start exploring different more exotic stuff like wavefolding and ring modulation. That's why I went with a eurorack, to further advance my modular exploration. About pedals, I use them through my mixer's effects send, that way there's no problem with signal levels. It's more flexible than going from synth into pedal, especially for having a blend control.
@@ftj4441 and you can keep the Neutron inside it's own case to save on the expense of HP, unless you're building your own case for cheap. Eurorack cases alone are pretty expensive.
Just got mine and had a quick play and all seems to work so far. Sounded very nice. Only gripe is the plug. It has a changeable PSU but no 3 pin fitting, so I'm stuck with an EU 2 pin and adapter. Hate that! 😕 Any idea if I can get the 3 pin adapter for the PSU? Other than that seems good. 👍
Have you thought about including a live recording function in the next Firmware update? It would make the seq so much more jam compadiable, if I would be able to record while the seq is playing :D
I have one of these on the way and have a feeling that my life in music is going to be split between before and after it arrived. Berlin School is now do-able. I'll be in the shed.
Hello. I get one for 3 weeks ago, since that i try to update with the behringer synth tool, but the side is stil under maintaining... how long i got to wait? Also i got now answer about my musictribe ticket, so i try my luck here. your help is welcome :-
Hey, can you please fix the bugs in the next firmware update: When deactivating steps or putting rests in a sequence, there is still a sound coming, even when deactivating every step you get a sound and the filter cutoff and LFO speed input doesn't track probably in V/Oct. It's an analog LFO so probably not really fixable. Thanks!
@sbmphr sorry to give my point of view: synth anatomy is only giving feedback, i can tell it, he just wrote our questions, word by word ;) thanx to him. I found this issues too, as a happy "first batcher" from thomann. ... this is a thread of interest, to me.
Thanks for your comment. The Synth team are already working on the next version firmware to address these points. It will be uploaded to the website of course as soon as it is ready. Many thanks.
theinvisibleman RU-vid 'superstars' 😂 they all seem to miss bugs on all gear though eh, but don't forget they are after all neutral, cough cough Like a bloody politician that is 😂
@@theanonymouszero7757 the powesupply you get is universal, it works in all regions, it's like 100-240 volts. U just need to use a travel adapter with it
Need some help....how do i connect up my new Crave to TD3 and RD6?? Which cables- into what and what order, and also which MIDI/ Trig/ INT settings?? Many thanks as i am clueless??
Over a year later, still loving the Crave. Also still baffled as to why this wasn't released as an eurorack compatible module like Neutron, Model D etc. were.
Yeah imagine the racks you could make with this thing, the possibilities would be endless! Oh and also, is the crave a good synth to have as a first? I've wanted to jump into hardware synthesis for a while and like this synth. Thanks and sorry for the question!
@@sedij2358 Well if you're looking for an analog semimodular synth then Crave is the right one for you, especially for the price and because it has it's own one octave keyboard. Note that you can't save patches, and it's monophonic, so if you want a cheap everymans workhorse then something like Microkorg or Mininova would be great as a first synth. With those you can play chords, save patches and use a vocoder. You can get some seriously good sounds with some tweaking from them, but if it's analog and modular you're looking for then definitely go for Crave.
You may not be loopop, but you're doing pretty well with this video. I just would like some oscilloscope action from time to time in synth demo videos.
How are people layering multiple sequences of this synths?? Someone made an entire song on ONE of these with multiple tracks all in perfect sync. Can anyone enlighten me ? I appreciate it!
Was really skeptical considering the price but wow this sounds amazing. Its only a matter of time now before behringer steps in to the eurorack format.
Is it possible that the arturia keystep is the only rather cheapand useful keyboard to use with the crave? Or do you know an alternative? I think the clicky buttons are horrible
