This panel can put out close to 100 watts ru-vid.comUgkxOqI2yqX0XVrhR2BMJciTWrHJpG8FhJyg when positioned in the appropriate southernly direction, tilted to the optimal angle for your latitude/date, and connected to a higher capacity device than a 500. The built in kickstand angle is a fixed at 50 degrees. Up to 20% more power can be output by selecting the actual date and latitude optimal angle.The 500 will only input 3.5A maximum at 18 volts for 63 watts. Some of the excess power from the panel can be fed into a USB battery bank, charged directly from the panel while also charging a 500. This will allow you to harvest as much as 63 + 15 = 78 watts.If this panel is used to charge a larger device, such as the power station, then its full output potential can be realized.

I've just ordered 2 of these batteries for my vw campervan but an auto electrician worried me by saying because they are so cheap, they may not be such good quality and infact maybe dangerous. I'm happier now and also seeing all the positive comments from others.

Thanks for watching & taking time to comment. My own batteries have been doing well, but I did upgrade the BMS units for Bluetooth capabilities. I am surprised they have essentially kept their batteries very basic, no low temperature charge protection, Bluetooth or self heating (Not an issue if your in warmer climates or are using a decent solar charge controller with Low temp cut off) but the Ganfeng cells are certainly holding up. I recently looked at the DC HOUSE battery which is a re-branded Eco-Worthy and are even less expensive. The overall build quality was good, but it did go below 10V before it cut out but took a charge no issue. Would i buy another? With the prices these days its still value for money and just don't expect after sales service to be great with any budget brand battery company, bit of a lottery!

@extendedp1 Personally, I like to know what each cell is doing from time to time instead of relying on voltages alone for battery health status. For me, it is useful data to have in my various tests, but for many people, it is not that big of a deal. I have no doubts there will be some good deals on the horizon for lifepo4 batteries under £200

Thanks for doing this! I saw someone tear down a smaller one from this brand, and it was made out of pouch cells. I know there are other cheapo-brands out there filling lead-acid shaped battery cases with dozens of pouches... But this one is actually prismatic cells. Plus a BMS with temperature protection. So I guess I can buy one in good conscience.

Their 50Ah battery used the pouch cells, but they do use prismatic in the larger units. Take a look at dchouse too, they are re branded eco worthy units and cost less!

Hi pal, yes me too I'm considering to buy a 50ah for my trolling Bison motor for Marina4, I think a 50ah would be fine for 2 to 3 hours running time stopping & starting when fishing on medium speed, whats your thoughts? :-)

I'm using Eco-Worthy 100Ah for 36lb trolling motor. Seems to work well. I'd suspect 50Ah battery would be plenty. Only issue might be peak amp draw for your trolling motor relative to max amps allowed by 50Ah battery BMS.

The batteries I opened had prismatic cells but others have received pouch cells with theirs.

@jab376 There is really no way of telling unless the supplier states what they are using on their marketing info. Sometimes, weight is an indicator as pouch cells are usually lighter than prismatic.

Does the BMS have low temperature protection on this?

The ones I originally purchased only had over temperature but I ended up swapping the bms for updated jbd units. I think the newer ones will have low temp protection but best to double check before buying and also look at dchouse as they are rebranded eco-worthy units but retail for less.

Is the orientation at 5:30 the same as the orientation as it would sit in the battery? I drilled about 6mm into the battery. It still works so I am trying to figure out if I just drilled into the foam or not

@@DCGUY around where the E and W are in "ECO WORTHY" on the front sticker near top left corner when looking at the front sticker. The E hole seems like empty space so I think I'm ok. The W hole I'm more worried about. I think maybe I just hit foam? Battery charges/discharges normally

The front of the battery casing is the base of the cells (they sit on their sides inside the box) and they have foam padding, Sounds like a lucky escape. If you'd hit a cell you'd have soon known (would smell and smoke).

Yes, you'd lose very noticeable voltage.

Can these be used in series to make a 24V system? Is it just a case of periodically checking the voltage of each battery? Also, as I am planning to build a small system to power some of my home circuits, it would be great if you had some videos of what you use, what you prefer and the decisions you made to get your system up and running.

Thanks for taking time to comment. Yes they can be used in either series or parallel but no more than 4 due to BMS limitations. If you feel capable you could also consider a self build using raw cells and a BMS. My web site is a work in progress where i hope to give information and sources of info. I've been unwell but hope to get some more videos completed that will show my own system. A battery shunt / monitor is also a useful tool for keeping an eye on the battery status.

Hi, The Model number is JBD-HP28SA 100A . You can find them on various websites including aliexpress. They are very similar to overkill BMS. I'm running various tests on the BMS & will upload my findings when done. Thanks for your comment.

Great videos you have on this battery. With the JBD BMS I watched a video on the Off-Grid Garage channel called "Here is the catch with the Ciabatta 'JBD' BMS. Watch this before you buy one!". He shows some conditions where the BMS may not be able to balance the cells mainly because the default is for the cells to balance only while charging and its only capable of 60ma per cell balance current. That said if you have the bluetooth module you can change the parameters and tell the BMS to balance all the time even when not charging. Not sure if the JBD 100amp BMS are all the same and have a plug for the bluetooth or if the one in the Eco Worthy battery is different. Might be a handy upgrade to have the Bluetooth module and gain some functionally with this battery as the cells age.

Yes another viewer mentioned that, while I've nothing against pouch cells, people do prefer the prismatic cells despite them being the same chemistry.

What an absolutely useless video! What insightful information would we gleen from taking a battery out of the box and tearing it apart? Normal people usually want to know about the battery's reliability, recharging and stuff like that. E.g. If I buy a car I don't need to know what the inside of the engine looks like!

When people spend good money on a very expensive battery they actually do like to know what they are getting.Not all Lifepo4 batteries are equal. Regarding the comparison to a car, there's many cars with terrible engines. Anyway thanks for taking time to comment.
