Smith and Wesson made a 32 top break 125 years ago .... (Joe might remember it but I don't 😉). Anyway, after building 22's for decades don't you want to step up a level and bring those 32's back. With your modern manufacturing and excellent quality, I'm sure they would be better than before!!

@@deucedeuce1572You honesty think that a Rounded Ring is no less snaggy than a Pointed Spur??...😏
@deucedeuce1572
@deucedeuce1572 3 месяца назад
@@aldousorwell3807 Not if there's an entire channel of area for something to get snagger. Besides that, the large almost flat area of a round ring, having grooves even gives a good area for things to get snagged on. If you don't have the capacity to picture even the most basic of objects in your mind, then I'm not sure you'd understand my poor ability to explain without writing an entire paragraph. Regardless of the shape of the hammer spur, there's still a large, low area there for shit to snag on. Having a rounded hammer spur will barely make any difference at all. There's a reason that snag free frames completely remove the hammer spur and are DA only. None of them ever have a round hammer spur, because it does very little to nothing to stop snagging. (Because there's a large cavity below the hammer spur either way. Yeah, it may help reduce the hammer spur from snagging on clothing as long as it's not a large fold, but it will do nothing at all to stop other things from snagging on the hammer at all). It's pointless to have that if being snag free is your goal. There's more than enough material in just about any pocket to fold over and snag onto a round hammer spur in the exact manner it would fold over and snag on a pointed one.
@aldousorwell3807
@aldousorwell3807 3 месяца назад
@@deucedeuce1572 I have the CaPaCiTy to picture it just fine.😂 ...And even after all of your paragraphs, I picture a long pointed-tipped spur being far more likely to snag on anything and everything imaginable. ...And since this is a SA gun, the point of some DAO guns having the spur removed completely is Not An Option.
@deucedeuce1572
@deucedeuce1572 3 месяца назад
@@aldousorwell3807 Good point on that. Would be retarded to remove a spur on an SAO. Comparatively, I'm sure it's better... but not by much. There's no doubt it would be less likely to snag on a shorter piece of thread and stuff like that... but when it comes to cords/threads/strings and clothing, they're not very snag free at all. I get in the habit on thinking self defense, pocket carry and all that and rarely deal with SAO guns, except NAA revolvers on occasions. That whole area behind the grip from the top of where your hand or web of your thumb would be and the whole area above that is one big channel for crap to get snagged on... and having a rounded hammer just isn't going to stop anything from getting into that "crevice" there and snagging. The way clothing (especially pockets) pleats also will get snagged to a rounded hammer almost as bad as a pointed one. It's something I've tested myself before (the pocket/cloth folding and snagging on hammer spurs). I can't say it was just as bad as the pointed one's, because the pointed one's were harder and took longer to unsnag... but the rounded hammer spurs got caught almost as often and almost as bad in most cases. I never checked with strings and cords, but it's obvious to see how strings and cords will get snagged regardless of the shape of the hammer spur.

I know many people have wanted to see a swing-out or break-top mini-revolver with a good set of sights and here it is. I think this is the best model for carrying extra ammo for reloads. It's great to see desirable features combined into one model. I'm pleased with the variety of models from NAA. I'd love to see features like these offered in the .22LR frame, my favorite, especially the XS sights. I prefer the .22LR frame and a good factory sighting option would be highly useful. The current best off-the-shelf option is (discontinued?) laser sight grips. But using them I can't pick out my favorite grips and use styles like boot grips or rubber grips or holster grips. I think those XS sights are a great match for small pocket handguns like these. Maybe I'll gunsmith them on, or at least a rear sight, but a factory option, even if just for dovetail cuts to mount sights to, would be very appealing.

Make this model in a 22LR frame and a 22 Mag frame and offer both in a variety of barrel lengths, grip choices. a convertible model in 22LR/22Mag, and site choices. MSRP the gun at $299.00 and they will sell very well. I know I've written in before about this but how about a 4 shot model in 32ACP? Maybe it derives from the days when you had to pull the pin out and remove the cylinder completely for a reload? Perhaps the ergonomics for that required the cylinder to swing out to the right (for 90% of the population)? I'm just spit-balling here. 😉 I have an SP101, LCR, a Taurus Judge, and two NAA's, and I must admit I never noticed the aberrancy of the NAAs swinging to the right. I always regarded the NAAs as oddball weapons that colored outside of the lines. They look like revolvers, but somehow, they aren't. At first, with the pin system, it was implicit that you were only going to get 5 shots. The Sidewinder was my second NAA purchase. As most people know, the Sidewinder does have ejection problems. No, EJECTION problems you morons! It doesn't need viagra! Despite the clumsiness of the new design, it is still much faster than the pin system. I think NAA has listened carefully to the market. I might look into the latest iteration.

I bought a NAA Earl (3"barrel) about a year ago just to have something to carry .22 snakeshot on property. The more I played with that gun the more I liked it. It takes lots of dry firing (with cyl. out of gun) to get a good grip down, I basically hold the grip with my middle finger and my ring finger under grip. The second time shooting my accuracy was much improved. I noticed different ammo brands would hit slightly different in relation to the sight, but was thrilled when I realized the CCI Maxi-mag .22 wmr hit's exactly where the sight is aiming out of the .22 wmr cyl. (Federal was centered but tad bit high) It has now become my out in public carry gun, so light and slim I forget it's in my pocket. I wouldn't pull it out for a gunfight, but in the right situation it could be a lifesaver. I'm pretty confident I could make a good head shot at 5 yards or less, hopefully closer when bad guy is distracted. I feel like 5 shots is plenty.

They're excellent self defense weapons. Yeah, they're not a 15rd 9mm... but they do precisely what they're intended to do. I just have to add though, that you never want to dry fire these without snap caps in the cylinders. The shock of the steel hammer slamming into the steel frame (not being cushioned by a bullet/rim) can cause the steel to work harden... which cause it to crystallize and become brittle. Then the firing pins on the hammers either chip, break or break off entirely. Most modern revolvers have a floating firing pin, but these have a fixed firing pin on the hammer. It's a nice, thick, solid firing pin that's far less likely to break than many of the older, very thin/pointy firing pins... but they can/will still break if constantly dry fired. They can be found online for fairly cheap, but it can be difficult to know which one's to buy. Some last a very long time (many 1000s of dry fires) while others can fall apart after just a couple... The aluminum one's with the rubber primer work the best (for me) when it comes to center-fire snap caps... but I haven't found many good rimfire snap caps. The one's that work the best by far for me (so far) have been 3d printed one's made out of PLA+. Dry wall anchors are okay too and they're very, very cheap... but you don't get that many hammer drops on each one. They wear out pretty fast. You can get 50 or 100 of them for just a couple bucks though... so many people consider them a fair investment. Forgive the rant. I've made the mistake of not using snap caps myself and have had to pay for it. I'm not assuming that you don't use them, but just wanted to (at least) add it for anyone else reading that doesn't know. I been around guns and worked on them my entire life and didn't know until I was in my 20's.

Using snap caps could cause a problem if rims rub frame and put any stress on the lever that turns cyl. those are some tiny delicate parts. What's worse for this gun is trying to put dozens of rounds through it between cleanings. Does it keyhole every shot like my Pug?
@deniskozlowski9370
@deniskozlowski9370 3 месяца назад
Had a NAA about fifteen years ago. It shot fine with 22lr but every other round of 22 mag would keyhole. A gunsmith told me that there wasn't enough rifling in that tiny barrel to stabilize the round in flight. The 22 mag was originally designed as a rifle round.

Try a different grain bullet, if you're using thirty grains say, go to forty or fifty. Im guessing it would like shorter bullets. I had to play around with ammo choices for a bit. Found the right brand, bullet etc. Im pretty accurate out to thirty yds with my LR cylinder. Mag cylinder didn't matter much for me. I'm doing load development now on new rifle I built. I believe if it continues, notify NAA

@@deniskozlowski9370because of the limited rifling, I wonder how .22 short would perform? If I had the LR cylinder, I'd try it. Probably CCI.

Nice. My 4" 22mag minimaster is the ultimate pocket edc. The 4" length is perfect in a jeans front pocket without the short barrell shift of a black widow, imo. Pleeze make a 16" mini carbine pleezeeee.

The only concern I would have with this as a defensive revolver is the minimal movement of the ejector rod; certainly, it will back the cases out of the chambers, but you'll probably still be picking them out by hand (especially .22 mag). I do not think that you will ever be able to his the ejector hard enough to clear the chambers with how short the rod is, but I am more than happy to be proven wrong. (Maybe not _only_ concern, but definitely the most visible)
@hornmonk3zit
@hornmonk3zit 3 месяца назад
Why is reloading a tiny .22 revolver in the middle of a gunfight your first concern and not the fact that it's a single action like it's still the 1840's. The fact it takes longer to draw and shoot this as a backup gun than to just reload your main gun should be the main point of contention here, these could be muzzle loaded and they'd be more practical if they were at least double action. I don't think anyone was asking to make these easier to reload for extended shooting sessions at the range, and nobody's gonna be fumbling around in a dark alley with a Barbie sized gun and a handful of loose .22's when the guy robbing them has a converted machine pistol with a 33 round magazine.

I scored a Gator over at Collectors last year, swapped the grips for the rosewood bird's head and love it. It's not my EDC, but when I can't get away with something more substantial, the gun you're carrying always beats the gun you left at home. Something like this looks pretty cool and really addresses the only shortcomings of the Gator.

They still make the Guardian semi-autos in .32 ACP, .380 ACP, and a couple of proprietary cartridges. I suspect they don't make bigger little revolvers because that would put them directly into competition with companies like S&W, Ruger, and Charter Arms.

I bought a NAA standard 22LR 1-1/8" 31 years ago... great little, quality revolver. I bought a PUG 3 years ago that didn't even function out of the box, it jammed after every shot. I sent it back to NAA, whom stated they didn't know when they'd get to the repair, and didn't have a replacement to send out. I asked NAA for my money back, they said NO. My lawyer got involved, getting my money back very quickly. I'm hard pressed to ever purchase another NAA firearm. Nice looking Sentinel, but I just can't put trust in a company that didn't take care of an existing customer. Good luck.

I’ve had the pug for many years and practice with it as much or more than other pistols. I like the sentinel better but not enough to get another. Why? Neither the pug or sentinel are designed for detailed aiming. Second, no one using the pug is planning on reloading in an emergency. 5 shots of 22wmr is just going to have to finish the job, and probably will. Quicker reloading won’t help. If you worry about that, get a bigger gun. A Glock 42 with an extra mag might work for many people. I like mine and I’m not a block guy. I also like the beretta 32, although it’s heavy.

Couple of comments about using for home defense. 1. It requires an extremely firm grip to be reasonably accurate; in order to achieve this you'd need to install the fold-away/fold-out pocket grip. 2. Home invasions these days aren't limited to one person. Even if they are, you're still dealing with darkness, just waking up out of a sound sleep, and an adrenaline rush. Tactical shotgun (18 or 18.5" barrel) with an attached LED light using bird or buck shot is a better alternative.

@RIPPER334
@RIPPER334 3 месяца назад
22 mag, even the "hotter" rounds are barely 22LR ballistically speaking, out of a 2" barrel. 800-850FPS is about all you'll get without going to 30 grains or less... And a barrel length of 1 1/8", drops those numbers by almost a 1/3rd. At that point, you're in low to mid range pellet gun specs. It's better than a sharp stick, but I wouldn't call it a serious round when shooting it from such a short barrel. It's a deterrent at best, and shouldn't be relied on for a serious defensive situation.
