Wow, thank you for providing the necessary context to so many other EEG videos that I’ve seen! This is such an excellent introduction to the basics - incredibly easy to understand without skimping on the details. Many grateful thanks, Jeremy!
@@bariscanbilgin in medicine you always pursue the most best answer. OP is only offering us the most best answer. There is no need for the condescension as this post was not underhanded in the least, only more correct. .
I show T3 and T4 where you have T7and T8, and T5 and T6 where you have P7 and P8 on the international 10/20 System of electrode placement. Yours are inconsistent of all other 10/20 EEG placements I have seen in over 17 years.
So glad I came across this video! I have an interview with the manager over Seizure Monitoring at this hospital I work at. I really want her to know her how interested I am in the job position and this video will help me out a lot in the interview process!
if there is abnormality in the EEG signal does it always mean that the person is sick? couldnt it be that he's a genius and that part of the brain is superior?
I can find out about what EEG is clearly and also the mechanism. Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that measures electrical impulses in the brain through small metal discs called electrodes attached to the scalp. Electrodes only measure electrical activity coming out of the brain and do not cause pain. thank you🙏
this was an excellent introduction of the eeg! though it did bug me that the amplification of the grass right next to the rocks has been missed as a difference :D
Thank you for taking the time to post these great videos. Could you answer two brief questions, please? I read in the book `Neurological Differential Diagnosis, A Prioritised Approach`. Bhidayasiri, Waters and Giza, (p 463), what looks to be a summary of what the EEG is registering: EEG Normal or nonpathological EEG 1) The rhythmic EEG activity is due to intrinsic membrane properties of various groups of neurons (summated excitatory and inhibitory postsynaptic potentials; EPSPs and IPSPs), the synaptic connections of these neurons, and thalamocortical inputs that lead to synchronisation of this activity. 2) There are basically four EEG frequency ranges. No individual band is normal or abnormal by definition. All are interpreted according to the topographic location, age and conscious state of the patient. Do you feel that the description at `1` is complete? And, would you add any other factors to `2`? If you have the time I would be very interested to hear your ideas, Mr Moeller. Pete
when you were talking about "HOW EEG IS DISPLAYED" when you put 2 waves together, is that showing the average? I know you gave the example of the 2 photos and grabbed the differences and said thats whats happening with the brain waves but I guess I just dont understand that part....I guess I need to see the 2 readings and then see the results of the 2, to really understand.
3:22 this kind of confused me, because after the red difference is over the graph should go back to being in the middle, you had a mistake there, the output is the length of the differance, which means its the distance between the red dot to the blue dot for every given point on the X axis
Questions: I had an abnormal EEG with generalized peaks and recovery shapes a few weeks after a first-ever seizure with COVID. 1. Is there evidence that inflammation due to COVID can cause that sort of EEG? 2. I’m doing great 7 months later, seizure free on very small Keppra dose. Is there evidence that diet and lifestyle changes (keto, supplements, exercise, mindfulness) can reduce those EEG patterns, or at least reduce seizure risk? Many thanks.
you are an excellent teacher. Do you plan to put together a total eeg learning course or a study programme See not every one has the talent of teaching or explaining things to others
Hi, so my lab just got EEG equipment and we are trying to get the configuration for a simple figure tapping experiment over M1 and S1, what electrode placement correlate with this goal?
Do you know where I can buy a cheap EEG? I want to look at my own recordings and so far I found only boring ones that consolidate the data into more user friendly charts
hello everyone am a research scholar from university of Mysore am presently working on EEG signals for different brain computer application can anyone help that where can i collect my EEG data in the form of raw signals which could help my research please suggest me the instrument names thank you
I need to write an analysis program and I don't know what montage there using or why certain pulses in the brain look like squiggles. I need help, what do I do.
im currently getting this as treatment for my impulsive adhd, on my 3rd round of treatment, and have definately noticed a difference in my impulsivity. i can actually catch myself being impulsive and can control my emotions abit better :)
Great video thanks. if you have a paper of article let me know so that i reference it in my MSc. dissertation report since youtube videos cannot be cited.
I love your videos. Is there a book that you used for the intro video??????? I would really like a beginner book to start with in addition to your videos. Thank you!
