While I don’t currently play Necromunda (may in the future-def would pick Escher) and just starting in 40K with CSM your hobby tips are a great help! Thank you for showing steps of conversion. Very helpful. Wish the box came with a grenade launcher, but the AM weapon on the chem thrower is good conversion. Using 2 boxes of Escher gang, one upgrade pack for heavy stubber/extra heads and hair, and the two AM grenade launchers to make 20 unique CSM cultists. Lot better looking kit than the official chaos cultists imo.

Bolter/needlers can be decent. Costs a bit more than a bolter, but still cheaper than a plasmagun. However the fact you have to run out of ammo twice, means by the time your out of ammo, the game is already over. Also a nice choice of gun for someone more close combat focused if the creds are going well, since it leave two slots open, but punches plenty well in a long ranged shoot out.

i got the delaque/escher starter ages back, decided to build delaque as my main, got the weapons sprue and they were set, the escher however, after getting my hands on house of blades and looking through weapons lists, seems am gonna have to convert the leaders combi needler to a combi plasma for my specialist, and the guard bits boxes spare grenade launchers i have will finally come in handy for my leader :) (this is to say i agree the options in book vs options available for wargear load out is frustrating, and am glad i can convert, a bunch of newcomers to game could find this more frustrating)
