a bank with 8 scenes you can play back with fade. choose the bank hit the aut button and put the speed fader up till you like and then the fade Button. job done.
Thanks for these vids :) Do you know if I can program some LED battens with two chases (probably 3 scenes in each) then manually operate my Chauvet Geyser?? Or do you think I might need a better desk for this? Lighting certainly isn't my strength and I'd like to possibly add a smoke machine and a moving head to what we do!
+Chimp Media You could get by and run the chases from the consoles buttons, then use the faders for the Geyser - as you suggested. However, if/when you add more fixtures and/or moving fixtures, you'll want to upgrade to a different console - perhaps Enttec's DMXIS or Chauvet's ShowXpress
you prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Lee Marcus Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Ive been asked to do lighting for a play at a middle school that has 96 channels and well of 100 fixtures. is there a way that i can use this console as a secondary board while setting lights?
Hey John - this video is just an overview of the Obey 40 - here is the video on recording scenes: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mzU4SaKPms8.html Thanks! -David
The lack of fade time availability made me hate this controller. Since I had been sick, I had to find another controller to use in a hurry for a production.
So, I have 12 fixtures and want them each in 7 channel mode. On the back of each fixture, I set them to 7 channel mode and give them an address of 1, 13, 25, 37, 49, etc. So my question is, when I select "Fixture 1" on the board, does it select my first fixture with the address of "1' and also automatically allow faders 1-7 to be used for that fixture (i.e. R-G-B-Dimmer-Strobe, etc.) If I then deselect "Fixture 1" and select "Fixture 2," would faders 1-7 then be used for the same R-G-B-Dimmer-Strobe, etc. on Fixture 2? Thanks so much. I feel I have almost wrapped my head around this and I am ready to dive in!
They need to line up perfectly with the Obey40 channels for it to work that way, so you would address them at 1, 17, 33, etc (every 16 channels). When you do it this way, then you can select either fixture 1 or 2 or BOTH and get meaningful control.
@@LearnStageLighting I have one more simple question: Can I address multiple fixtures to Dmx channel 1 so that “fixture 1” on this console will control these fixtures simultaneously? Thanks!!
+Siro Vergari IF the controller offers DMX input, than yes, you can. However, most software-based controllers, if they allow external control, use MIDI controllers as faders instead.
Question: if each fixture allows 16 channels for attributes, and there is only 12 fixtures... the math comes to 192... How do you go into addresses higher than 193? If you can't... then why is it called a 512 channel mixer???
We are sorry to hear that. This is just a overview video, feel free to take a look at the Obey 40 training videos on our page that will show you how to program scenes and chases.
