Introduction to the Otamatone 

I love how he takes this instrument seriously. I adore my Otamatone but it will forever still be a joke to me.

Thank you I’ve been looking for a lesson to the Otamatone, my grandfather just passed and I told him i would learn the otamatone to make him proud. I remember long nights by the camp fire and my grandpa reaches for his otamatone to play my favorite church hymn AC/DC thunderstruck for great harmonic singing so, I’m definitely gonna practice and hopefully by next week I can continue the tradition, so thank you.

I just got the Kirby Otamatone in the mail today so thanks for making this tutorial! I play Guitar, Clarinet and I'm decent at learning music by ear so hopefully I can pick up on this quickly!

Every video: So this is kind of a joke it’s not really worth it This guy: this is a really good instrument you can play any note and a lot of songs. Good thing I saw this video because all of the other ones are calling it a joke and this guys actually playing it, and it made me want one. I got a blue one.

I'm a violinist, so I think this should start as hard at first, but when I practice a little bit more on this strange instrument, I might get the hang of it. I hope I might get this instrument pretty soon!

Well done. I’m a guitarist and I’m considering one. You’ve convinced me to get a deluxe model. The only thing I disagreed with is playing the slide register part with your dominant hand.

Note: Get the regular otamatone if you don’t want to play it seriously. Get the deluxe if you want to play it more seriously like in an orchestral form, but otherwise, get the regular.

I have not played violin since third grade but i remember that i used my left hand on the violin and right hand on the bow (fyi im in high school as of wrighting so its been some time) im getting an otamatone and im going to see how well i remember the violin

A year after recording this video, you can no longer find cheap Otamatone Deluxes on Amazon. However, I did find a $45 Deluxe on Bazaaa. No promises it doesn't charge $100 for shipping, but this might be an option.

The otamatone sounds like a good instrument to start out of if you're wanting to violin but want to start out slowly.

i've been working my way up instruments so i can finally pick up violin easily, i'm a natural pianist and keyboard percussionist and i play ukulele. i feel like this is the last instrument i'll have to master (the small otamatone) before starting violin.

Man, I knew I shoulda saved up for the deluxe..! Cheapest one I could find was over $100, but I guess in a way it's a good thing I got the cheaper one. If I figure out I suck at the otomatone, then it's not really that much of a waste of money. Also wow, there's a lot of negative comments on this.

I just got one, and I have to say, with no finger chart or anything, it’s hard. You just have to judge the the notes!
