Just bought the Cameo 4 and am excited to finally use it ! I’ve researched this machine for at least 3 years, if not longer. I’m glad I waited for the Cameo 4 in order to cut leather, among other things.
Silhouette Inc. I managed to literally cut up my mat by simply cutting paper, and I followed the instructions!🤣 Talk about trial by fire! I’m off to buy a new mat.🤦🏾♀️
I bought a black cameo 4 today and i had no problems with installing it. The only strange thing about this model for me is that compared to my portrait 2 it uses different cutting settings. While with the portrait 2 i can cut adhesive vinyl like Orafol 751C with knife 1 pressure 4, the cameo 4 need knife 1 pressure 18 ? This is the only negative thing because i have to discover new settings now. Is there a dust cover available for the cameo 4 ?
Hello! What type of cutting blade and paper material should be used if I want to make screenprinting stencil, spray painting stencil, and decals and stickers. Can older models like Sil-Cam 3 or 2 do the same job? Thanks.
You might consider starting with a short description of what genre the Silhouette Cameo 4 is, but the deep dive you chose does have some appeal as well. Does Sstudio work on Linux?
I just received my new Cameo 4. I turned it on all of the lights flash on then the up arrow and down arrow come on and stay on but the bluetooth light will not stay on. it will flash on but will not stay on. Even if i try to push where it is I get nothing. I have completely unplugged it and plugged it back in. Installed firmware and refreshed BT on my laptop.
Unfortunately I cannot find anything about the use of the extra tools supplied with the Cameo 4. How they can be used with the old tools of the Cameo 3
this video should include "how to connect bluetooth" as mine did not automatically connect. if ur having trouble w/ bluetooth - ensure the cameo's bluetooth button glows blue, if it doesn't then touch it until it does (not too rapidly tho - it takes a few seconds), then click on the symbol to the left of the graduation cap. it's located at the bottom of the software window, slightly to the right. after u click, u will then be provided a list of silhouette devices to connect to - one of which contains the bluetooth logo (that "B"). -- hope this helps
I just set up my new cameo 4 and when I go to the send panel and go to pick my machine it says cameo 2 ready now I just disconnected my 2 Why does it not recognize my 4? Am I suppose to delete something ? I’m on a Mac computer business edition version 4.3
I am interested in the Cameo 4--torn between the Cameo 4 and the Circuit explorer-I am a beginner. However, I can't find anywhere how to contact Silhouette except by mail. I see a lot of complaints that people cannot get help and I see that you cannot live chat and it's been down a long time. How can we get help if we have a problem?
I always get a error when doing print and cut how can I fix this? I have tried what it said on website and did not work, finally went and bought a Cricut. Would be nice to fix this problem.
I wish you would have gave more information about the cutting mat. How did you attach the cardstock to the mat? Your paper seems to be stuck to it and the mat that came with the machine doesn't seem to be the same. I put the cardstock in without the mat and it was moving all over the place.
I have Cameo 4. It is nice for cutting paper but it is totally disappointing for thicker materials. Kraft blade is almost useless, I tried several materials with many different settings and works around. It takes a lot of effort adjusting blade each time manually, so it can cut a little bit deeper each time. It almost feels that I could better use scissor than kraft blade. It is very frustrating.
Hi Silhouette, I just purchased a Cameo 4 online but up to now, I haven't registered it yet because I am not sure about my laptop if I am going to use it longer or buy new. So, I just want to ask if I can re-download the software to my new laptop even if I already installed it on my old one? Thanks in advance for your reply.
I just purchased the cameo three literally four months ago and just are going to start to use it and you’re already out with the new machine what’s wrong with the cameo three
It is still the great machine people love. This new one is just faster, quieter and cuts harder things. But probably for everything you want to do, the Cameo 3 will do it ALL. Be happy! You got a good deal!
there is nothing wrong with the C3 but you just bought it at the end of its life cycle, it is already a couple of years old. The smaller portrait 2 was the newest silhouette model before the C4 and that was released in 2017, the Cameo 3 is from 2016. If you are only cutting adhesive vinyl, HTV, paper i would stick to the C3, it has the benefit that it can hold 2 tools at once because of the double port which means you can use the auto blade and a pen without switching. The Cameo 4 has a double port as well but as far as i know the 2nd port is different, it is designed to give you the 5kg of force and that means you can only use special tools in the 2nd port but not the pen for example.
You'll be absolutely happy with the Cameo 3! There's nothing wrong with it. :) The Cameo 4 just has some additional features that users have been asking for. All of these Silhouette 101 classes are filmed with the Cameo 3, so I'd start here. ru-vid.com/group/PL6euVBZ4QfhynrYzTsXdO-LdLlR2QdNe3
I have a cameo 4. I have had so many issued with the cameo blades and have wasted SO MUCH material !! I wish I had gotten the Cricut :( The pre set settings arn't right, I am always having to adjust. I cant get the premium blade to fit the housing no matter how many videos I watch/ how many ways I try. The autoblade doesn't cut half the time, yes I have cleaned it a hundred times. Or it rips the paper up, and vinyl. There's no in between. The amount of time I have spent getting the machine to cut okay, is ridiculous. Even then I have to go back over everything with a kraft knife.. which leaves me wondering why I don't just return this machine. People keep asking me if I recommend this machine and I have to be honest with them. No.
Just switched from cricut and I'm not happy how unnecessarily complicated and non user friendly the print and cut feature is. I don't even know what I'm doing wrong and it's hard as hell to find a video specifically for this feature. It won't find my registration mark or it marks it way off. How do I fix this? I thought I was upgrading switching to silhouette now I'm not so sure
Can the software be use for designs without connecting to the machine? In other words, if I'm at the airport can i do design even though the silhouette is at my house?
@@MrHoarses I would think so since there program isnt set for each model, but they might not be putting in a fix for our older machines. It is kind of frustrating.
Is there a reason why this will not find the dam registration mark? Over 20 tries, and the only time it found it correctly is just freezes half way through the cut for no reason
Good luck. I'm done with this machine. I am having the same issue trying to cut a simple cut file! I just posted a rant and within 2 minutes instead of answering me, they deleted my comment!
Except it doesn't cut? It reads the marks and spits it back out without even attempting to cut. The blades locked in and everything. You should really include a very thorough manual with this machine.
You are so right. To have to search youtube to find the basics is just ridiculous. I've just bought a machine and have been so frustrated - absolutely nothing comes with the machine except a list of what's in the box.
I just got my Cameo 4 yesterday and the card stock paper keeps getting stuck. I cannot believe there is no customer service. I have read, read and watched videos, trying to figure it out, can someone try and help? Thanks
You dont go over the unboxing process honestly. you should explain how to take all the tape off it.. what happens if i miss one of the tapes? that sounds bad
What icons does it come with, why didn't you show this.....why should I buy this product if I don't even know what I can cut and draw....oh but you advised me how I can upgrade. Money first people second what a shame
The Cricut's last year mistake about the 20 upload only BS makes me wanna buy a Silhouette for starting out and i am about to order one. 😂 Idk how they thought they can get away with limiting people on how many times they can use their machine. That's like you buy a printer and you can only print 20 designs like wtf? 🤦🏻♂️
Did you make the swap from Cricut? I'm looking at this video and about to make the swap. I hate cricut software. It's so not user friendly. It's really hard to get it to accept SVG and DXL files.
MAKE SURE to remove the cardboard inside the machine before turning it on, this says nothing about that. My machine made a really loud noise when i turned it on since i followed this video immediately without opening the machine.
hallieshouse13 if too sticky, just put it on your T-shirt to help with making it a little less so..I rarely use a mat..Honestly the silhouette mats need revamped, they are thin and don’t last long...There are off brands,on Amazon..you didn’t see me say to use competitors 🤪
This cutting machine is a waste of money. And also, I've been having problems with my Silhouette Connect plug-in for more than 2 months and after doing some basic troubleshooting with Silhouette representatives, they just gave up and stopped helping me and or giving me updates on wether the problem was being fixed even though I wasn't the only person having problems with the plug-in. Once your case is assigned to a representative you're stuck with that one, no one else tries to help you. I had the Cameo 2 for years and barely had any problems with that machine. The Cameo 4 does not cut well. Sometimes is cuts too much, sometimes not enough. It doesn't align to the project even when you have perfect registration marks.
I’d suggest joining a silhouette Facebook group. People in there can help you troubleshoot. These little machines are great machines. I’ve made lots of money with mine. I’ve had every single model.
me too..not functioning na adjustment 1-2, itry to adjust the measurement, the new cut result in A-B, that the reason why im not correctly print and cut
Piece of crap, i regret i bought it few months ago, Register mark dont work...one time yes 3 times no so i trow carstock plain.....i try to put only 3 elements to a page A4 to not be close to register mark printed...same crap.
just bought one of these ... lol what a piece of junk its going back have a cameo 1 had it cutting 5 minutes out of the box after 2 hours or errors and "stuck initialising " whatever that means no cutting ... lol it says update firmware ... but doing that would void the warranty . I use much more complicated software 3ds max / autocad and don't have the patience to troubleshoot new equipment ... lol or sit around watching videos it should be obvious il have a go later and update how many hours it took to get working oh and no manual and strange directions ... all in all 1 out of 5 review
wow, talk about HORRIBLE as a training video. You went from plugging it in to suddenly going to the send and being in the studio? HOW do you get the studio? GRADE F You totally left out going to the website, going into SOFTWARE, and getting what you need.
