Oh dang - some really sweet designs in this video! Paper Jam Dipper is likewise one of my favorites so I'm happy to see him getting a little representation! But I have to say, Canitrop is a must-add to the team if only for the rendering on those orbs! The coloring makes me think they're sour watermelon candy flavored.

Froopy, this is just an idea I had, but after I remembered the episode "Little Gift Shop of Horrors" along with the percepshroom, I have the "what if" idea to feed it to Taurtesto and make it both brains AND brawn! I'm sorry, but I need to talk about this when it comes to Convergent Pokemon. I wish to provide some insight to everyone with this, rather than a general vent or complaint. Before Poltchageist/Sinistcha rolled around, the rules or pattern for what a "Convergent" Pokemon is seemed to be: 1) That it has to be a completely different genus to its original counterpart. Diglett/Dugtrio are moles (mammals), while Wiglett/Wugtrio are garden eels (fishes). Likewise, Tentacool/Tentacruel are either jellyfish or cephalopods (cnidarians or molluscs, respectively), while Toedscool/Toedscruel are ear-mushroom (fungus) 2) The names have to be the exact same as their counterparts (with parallels between each stage), but removing a number of letters and replacing them with the same number of letters, and only letters shared between the two stages of the original. Replace the "D" (one letter) in Diglett/Dugtrio with a "W" (still one letter) and you get Wiglett/Wugtrio. Replace "enta" (four letters) in Tentacool/Tentacruel with "oeds" ( *still* four letters) and you get Toedscool/Toedscruel 3) Having the same number of types as the original, while also not sharing types with the original. Diglett/Dugtrio are Mono-Ground, while Wiglett/Wugtrio are Mono-Water. Tentacool/Tentacruel are Water/Poison, while Toedscool/Toedscruel are Ground/Grass But of course, that doesn't seem to hold anymore with the addition of Poltchageist/Sinistcha: 1) Sinistea/Poltegeist and Poltchageist/Sinistcha have basis that overlap too much with each other, being based on (possessed) tea and (possessed) matcha tea respectively. 2) Not only are Poltchageist/Sinistcha's names swapped (the first-stage Poltchageist is closer to second-stage Poltegeist and viceversa), but they replace the "e" (one letter) in Sinistea/Poltegeist with "ch" (two letters). 3) Poltchageist/Sinistcha are Grass/Ghost, while Sinistea/Poltegeist are Mono-Ghost, meaning they don't have the same number of types and share types.

"After giving him the missing piece, Professor Pines sent me out on another excursion. I did hear him comment on my progress compared to Maple's. But to be honest, I wasn't all that concerned. My team isn't completely wimpy, and I've been exploring regions for years! This trip up north is nothing compared to the starts I had back then! Ugh... Where was I? Oh yeah! The trip! My team and I went to a forest to catch more Pokemon for the Pokedex. I thought if I were to fight Maple again that I could use some coverage for other types. I have a small Rock weakness and I might run into a Rock type Kipsy can't handle. So I needed some extra help. As I walked, I noticed some red bobbles sticking out from the grass. The way they moved in the wind brought a very sweet scent over to me. It smelled delicious! I wish I could've savored it, but unfortunately I was interrupted by a minotaur Pokemon. It was not in a good mood... It flailed it's huge arms around and made a mess of things! My crew had trouble with it, but! A bit of sticky sap wound up on it's face, which blinded it and allowed us to subdue and catch it! I was relieved, though at the same time I wondered where that sap came from. Just again, a little plant creature with the same bobbles as before came up to me. But her bobbles were different. They were white as opposed to pinkish red like all the others. And her body was mostly red. I thanked her for helping and bringing back that lovely scent. She looked pleased with it too. The syrup seems to be her weapon of choice, and she was pretty confident for a plant her size. Between this and her unique coloration, I knew she was something special. So I decided to catch her. The Pokedex registered her as a Canitrop, but I decided to name her Rose. I had her out for a bit as I continued onward. We were cautious around a pack of Taurtesto since we think they were attracted to Rose's scent. We noticed a few ponds though. One of them looked darker than the rest, so we went over to investigate. There was a small shape in the pond, one that looked to resemble Magikarp. But when it came up to the surface, it looked more like a gelatin mold with metal bits and purple ooze... Examining it carefully, I found it to be a convergent species. And it even reminded me of similar Pokemon in Jermanzburg. It looked miserable. All alone in that tiny little pond. I couldn't help but feel bad for it. So I asked it if it wanted to join us. It jumpy gleefully, leaving splatters of Ivan Ooze all over us. Rose wasn't exactly a fan, but I cleaned it off. I brought out another Pokeball and it jumped right in. The Pokedex coined it as Tragikarp. Hmm... Tragic is oddly fitting. Though for the sake of it, I named it Ivan. It just felt right for some reason. When I picked up the ball, I noticed a trail of footprints nearby. Rose and I looked and wondered what made these tracks? So, against our judgement, we decide to follow the trail. I caught two new members for my team and got the Rock coverage I needed. The Professor's words echoed in my head. But again, I felt fine. I know that with enough time and effort, I could make all of my Pokemon strong!" I really hope there is a pseudo legendary dragon line for this region! I can't wait to find out regardless!

I would absolutely love seeing a regional variant of Sableye were it actually looks more like the Hobkinsville Goblin/Kelly Green Men it was based on!

I find it funny how Tragikarp looks incredibly similar to a regional Magikarp I made over 2 months ago. The only difference is that yours hasn't evolved yet, and the higher quality of work considering you've been doing this for a while.

Canitrop is awesome and that shiny is an awesome combination of diabolical and adorable. Taurtesto is perfect, aside from the lack of fists for nipples :P And i did not expect a paper-jam dipper pokemon. Well played good sir. That was super clever.

The Taurtesto seems like a Pokemon that could win lots of battles and I'm really interested to what Tragikarp's evolution looks like, so out of the four, they're definitely my favs.

First I would evolve one of my pokemon into Doplob (srry if I forgotten the name of it's evolution) just in case things go south during a battle. And the second pokemon I'll catch is Canitrop, so that way I could trap any members of the Cipher Squad if they try to mess w/ me or my team, also because I have a sweet-tooth (I really love sweets 😋)

If it wasn't obvious my shiny Itle is remaining a Itle by now, but i'm ceartly evolving one of the other Itles on the box, Goblob seens powerful. (Probably put it on Ughorn. Uglhorn? Uglorn? Froopy, how does it even spells?!) Other canditat for the team is Canitrop (or Canitrap), i was thinking about using Sproutama but she is just too cute to not use. Just a little sussy though. Final for the team i was thinking about adding Targikarp but then i realized i already had Oogoo, plus Tragikarp 4x weak to Ground-type attacks so... yeah, forget all i said about bringing Goblob to the team. He is ceartly evolving for pokemon variaty and pokedex filling reasons but my replacment for "Ugly Corn" there is Taurtesto for that Steel-type coverage. Anyways, here's the team update: ============================== 1°) Coybra (Water); 2°) Lilurk (Dark/Flying); 3°) Kakurusai (Electric/Normal); 4°) Canitrop (Grass); 5°) Taurtesto (Fighting/Steel); - **All remaining/catchble 'mons in "check"** ============================== (I made all that argument for why i wouldn't add Tragikarp to the team because i already has Oogoo but in the end i didn't added neither because Kakurusai is just goated 😂😎🤌)

I'd absolutely add a Canitrop to my team, not just cuz it's absolutely adorable, but I'l already really excited to see potential evolutions, that is assuming I dont fall for it's trap and die of death. Or I just tear it outta the ground and set it on fire I dunno whichever's easier.

Well to catch up on this series, I do have one comment to leave. That being that I do love the new Pokemon introduced, both the Manly Minotaur who wants to do gains for days, the Itle evo that evolves with the Red figurine, and Canitrop. However out of all of these picks, only Tragikarp is going on my team. Mainly because it's the Pokemon out of this bunch I like the most. Canitrop is also cool in its own way, but I'm unsure if I want to add it to the team yet. Maybe for a Summerween Trickster Pokemon, it could have been the one laying all the traps. The concept for this would probably be based off the Skinwalker or Mannegishi.

Idea: A reference to the paleon region with primal tyrantrum and other pokeomon from paleon encased in amber, like the gravity falls episode where they find the dinosaurs in amber!

Tragikarp.. I need it It is my favorite I would definitely catch one. Also Doplob (but I want to see all the other evolutions first before I decide)

Current Pokemon team: Jazz the female Shrubbun (Grass) Mothra the female Lilurk (Dark/Flying) Krahka the Foalil (Ground, gender unknown) Nick the Capnary (Rock/Fire, gender unknown) Drippy the male Ooogoo (Poison) Stitch the female Stitchem (Normal/Ghost) In reserve: Mimic the Fauxline (Psychic, hermaphrodite mollusk) My attempts to get Mimic to infiltrate Grunkle Will's lab haven't exactly met with much success. Even under Krahka's coaching, their illusory ability seems less than optimal, with Mimic's take on a 'human' transformation looking more like a crushed and melted clay figure than anything else. I've settled for having them impersonate a wax sculpture and just stand in place watching the Professor in hopes of determining just what sorts of shady doings he's up to. And he's certainly up to something, I can tell you that much. Even worse, I suspect that he's trying to get rid of me. The guy sent me into a 'special' area up north where I encountered a herd of loud, thuggish, and extremely large and violent Pokemon known as Taurtesto. While I initially took them as possible evolutions of Uglorn, my recently updated Pokedex indicates that while they appear to be somehow related to Uglorn, they are not the same species line. While vaguely humanoid in appearance, they are complete savages and appear to be the epitome of what some would call toxic masculinity. I came upon them in the middle of a feast on carnivorous plants and what looked like rotting Magikarp, but turned out to be a sort of slime creature with a metal exoskeleton. How could anything survive on a diet like that? These Taurtesto seem to revel in proving their 'manhood' through any means possible, regardless of any risks to physical health. I however have a very healthy self-preservation instinct, so I avoided them like the plague. ...and promptly stumbled into an absurdly large, footprint-shaped ditch. This can't end well, can it...? --- So we don't exactly get much plot in this episode, aside from Maple being better at everything than we are, but we do get four new Pokemon designs. The Grass-type Canitrop is a deceptively adorable carnivorous plant that looks good enough to eat, but is bad enough to eat you first. While I already have a Grass type on my team in my Shrubbun starter, this is good enough that I might have caught it if I'd gone with the water starter (I don't trust the fire goat not to evolve into a literal demon, although to be fair Froopy's probably saving that for the legendary). I'm kind of curious as to whether Canitrop will evolve into the traditional pretty feminine humanoid grass mon, which became its own trope ever since Bellossom in Gen 2 and continues to this day in mons like Arboliva and Meowscarada. I guess even Ogerpon qualifies as one of these. I especially like the contrast between the translucent pink goo orbs and the light green plant stems, and how the face looks both adorable and unsettling, like this thing might really eat you. While I had originally envisioned Uglorn to evolve into a Manitaur Pokemon, the Fighting/Steel Taurtesto appears to be a single-stage mon, and it surprises me to see a mon this big and beefy so early in the game when our starters haven't even evolved yet. Honestly, I think it looks a bit too much like its Gravity Falls inspiration, the contrasting color scheme feels jarring, and I have no idea how those tiny little legs can even support its weight. It feels more like a Gravity Falls monster than like an actual Pokemon, and it doesn't really have that 'spark' that Pokemon designs have that makes you want to be its friend. It just looks too angry (and at least slightly unhinged) to really make a trainer personally connect with it. Also, I don't know if it's holding anything in its hands or if it's just got metal discs permanently embedded in them. The Steel/Poison Tragikarp isn't actually a fish, but is a bunch of polluted slime with a metal exoskeleton, thus probably making it a relative of the Grimer line. I really like this concept, as I'm a big fan of the slimy when it's not vomit-inducingly gross, and having polluted pond sludge impersonating a fish that might swim in it is a really interesting idea. It's well executed, too, and only mildly gross, but a bit of grossness is to be expected from a design like this. Finally, Doplob, the Fighting type Itle evolution. This is Paper Jam Dipper and I am all for it. I don't regret evolving my Itle into Foalil in the slightest, but as far as reference mons go, this one looks different enough from its inspiration to justify it being its own thing. Much like its prevo, it looks like it's made of clay, but this time it's a sculpture that got smashed and melted a bit and it's kind of misshapen, which works quite well for a Paper Jam Dipper concept. However, I'm not quite sure I'd feel comfortable having a 3D model of this thing following me across Hoh'ax and making all those noises.

And the sounds for the paper jam dipper mon i was imagined making some Doodlebob noises like it tried to speak but all comes out is "bah bah", maybe the next pokemon maybe a yeti for the next video

Cantrop is a "maybe", as I do try to have at least one of my Pokemon know a Grass move to handle Water/Ground types, but I don't normally use pure Grass types. We'll see if it gains another type on evolving. Taurtesto is a definite possibility, as I do use Fighting and either Steel or Poison types on my teams, and Fighting/Steel is a very useful type combination. So, as of now, Taurtesto has definitely earned a spot, unless I change my mind after seeing more Pokemon later. I'm not really fond of Tragikarp, but I might change my mind when I see what it evolves into. Doplob is a possibility as I do use Fighting types, but I like the Fighting/Steel Taurtesto better. So, out of all the new Pokemon, I like Taurtesto the best. And I like the fact that I successfully predicted a Manotaur parody (though I didn't expect you'd parody Paper Jam Dipper in the same video).
