Investigating the Squid Beacon Sounds, The Sculptures in Inkblot, and More 

Inklings without the mask is one of the most unnerving things I've ever seen.

That red inkling drawing is unsettling...

I started freaking out a little when you mentioned the smashed statue. I walk by that statue all the time.

if i hear the squid beacon i can hear the girl inkling and the boy inkling like screaming through eachother in the end you can hear the boy inkling getting splatted my guess is that the inkling boy and girl had a fight and it got waaaaay to out of hand

It does sound like a combination of sounds from both girl and boy inklings. But wow, that portrait has a very anime-esque style, yet octolings eyes are bigger. Great video once again!

Like I said, the noises of the phone might be agent 8 since the expansion uses phones. She might be trying to contact someone from the top since the test facility and subway are underground

HORSE FEATHERS, I FOUND SOMTHING. During a splatfest, i here some noises from the subway near spike, I’m not good at audio, so you should look into it. Also, anytime, you can see an Octoling poster on the floor, outside the off the hook studio. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS.

the toxic mist also makes some creepy sounds related to the two noises shown in this video

maybe the mask-less inklings are drawings of what the peopl thought people looked like between their evolution from kid/squid to inkling

I would really really enjoy a series where all of the details from the single player stages are observed and analyzed and fit into a lore of some kind. I had no idea about that portrait with the red inkling...! There's a line from Marina when Pearl mentions humans she says "I wish humans were real". The Octo expansion is going to be very good.

OCTO EXPANSION SPOILERS BELOW Regarding the talking phones , it’s probably not that deep but after fighting the final boss in the expansion (WHOS A PHONE) i think those sounds could be of the many octolings and others who got blended into dna goop. kinda similar to the screams we hear when the blender is getting put together

I've read in the wiki that Bluefin Depot in the first game has some strange sounds in its splatfest variant and also single player variant. But there doesn't seem to be any videos about that here on RU-vid. It would be interesting if you looked into it.

1:49 (paused) DUDE, I just found that exact statue in Museum d'Alfonsino! Go to the path left of the spawn point, keep following that path until the dead end, look to your left and you'll see some drawings and the statue in the backround!! I'm so excited for finding a secret, all on my own!

What if these beacon sounds and phone booth sounds were meant to be part of some sort of Octo Expansion ARG?

3:02 this guy was all quiet when he found out a bunch of other creepy stuff in the game but when it comes to a squidling with out the mask its completely different

Watch out-really long comment coming through. I think the Beakons and the phones have the same sounds because whoever's sending the message (Agent 8 or some other Octoling, I like to -hope- think) is sending it over and over, and both the phones and Beakons are picking up the signal. Also, I think I'll recon the Academy during the next Splatfest so I can see if any of the statues' eyes glow. I'll edit this comment if I find anything. Another thing, could you possibly recon Shellendorf Institute at nighttime? I swear there's something up with that place, but I couldn't find anything when I reconned it. I did find that the model of the Great Zapfish glows at night, but I couldn't even _find_ the model when I reconned during the day. Also, I recently saw a video that played a certain part of Dedf1sh's Catalog Mix backwards, and you had to make sure you had closed captions on. Maybe you could do something about that? Just a suggestion, and I also _suggest_ you check out that video. EDIT: I couldn't get the chance to recon the Academy yet, but I was looking through the quotes in different languages on Inkipedia for Inkblot and found this in Spanish: "The eyes of the busts glow in the darkness. I SAW THEM, I SWEAR!" So maybe it's just the busts that supposedly glow. Long comment over, #OctolingHype

Okay this is something I had found in Splatoon 2 near the place where the Segway is,You can see a Couple C.Q cards near also Agent 3’s C.Q controller.when I saw this I was weirded out

In the Squid Beakon samples, you can hear the sounds Inklings make when they step into enemy ink, Inkling sounds like “Woomy!” and etc. So, no wonder they sound spooky.

Not much but something I noticed on Shifty Station - there’s a neon sign with a octo tentacle knocking over some skittles which is obviously depicting bowling, but the writing on the sign is actually really close to legible English? Which I thought was weird seeing as squid kings have their own language and alphabet. Just something small :’)

These are infact *Not* the same sounds. You see, the beacon is from the Inkling Girl and Boy from Splatoon 1 and 2. The telephone is from octo expansion or the other octolings for Splatoon 1 and 2. The beakon sounds gapless sounds like someone spamming "This Way!" the beakon tells teammates to jump to it but it's all static and distorted. I feel like I'm the first person to find that out and I may very well be right.

You know the screams in the boss battles what if they were humans that lived when humans went extinct or the metal sounds could be builds braking down or what if the sounds could be related to Agent 8 some how.

Everything here needs at least a 10 minute theory on its own. Nintendo, what are you up too? who knows, maybe Nintendo has something up there sleeve. They always do, so they just might.

Hey, i know this vid is old, but i think it's the best place to mention that somone on redit posted a vid of a statues eyes glowing, before the sculpter moves. This was in Unami Ruins in S3. I think it's definetly worth looking into.

There is something I have found that might be of use to you. The *Eel Cake* headgear’s “eyes” turn red and glow in the night. This might be the answer to why Pearl was freaking out. Hoped this helped ;-;

Hearing this guys voice get loud when it was all soft REALLY caught me off gaurd He has such a soothing soft voice its really nice to hear him just ramble. Its also nice to learn about these hidden traits within the games. Its overall really captivating and it grabs my attention to watch more. Good job! Keep it up

I believe personally that the squid beakon sound are just a garbled collection of radio signals in the area, as after all it emits a certain frequency and radio waves may also be at a similar frequency

From what I hear, they’re definitely warped and mixed boy+girl inkling sounds for ‘booyah’ and ‘to me’ from splatoon 1 (I spent many hours on that game)

When I found the phone inside of octo Canyon I was actually freaking out

The normal sounds are just garbled versions of actual Inkling voice clips. You can hear the "Booyah!" or "C'mon!" voice clip at the start and the Male Inkling's death cry, the "Woooo" sort of sound at the end of the clip. Listen hard and you'll hear it. However, if you hear either Yanny OR Laurel in the audio, then you need some help.
