The Ringing Phones in Inkblot Art Academy 

Looks like someone in the dev team made the right..... call.

What if agent 8 was trying to call for help and since nobody responded she was left without her memories and captain cuttlefish found her/him

I like how the ghostly face in Inkblot was disproven only to find that there was indeed something there....

But in the octo expansion trailer theres a golden ringing phone.....

I think those are the squid beacon sounds, and if you listen closely, they're the sounds inklings make when you press "this way" or "booyah", but they are cut, pitched, distorted and mixed a little to sound like radio communication

There is also a similar sound coming from squid beakons. It was more prevalent in splatoon 1 but regardless. Also! In shifty station in recon. You know just listen anywhere. Its heavenly

Quite an interesting thing to discover

In inkblot there's a painting of a female inkling just sorta staring at you. It's barely visible through the window on the buildings by the spawn and can be seen farther away from the top of the sculpture at spawn with a scoped charger.

Really enjoyed this short lil video, i'm curious if the expansion will have some explainations of the weird sounds in Splatoon... though i wouldn't be surprised if there aren't Also fucking hell Nathan that ending was amazing

In the first Splatoon In Ancho-V games at the end of a match you could hear phones ringing. I always liked to imagine it was the boss calling and asking "What the hell did you do to my office"

During last splatfest I went to Kelp Dome in reckon and in the center you can hear a constant sound, I think it comes from one of the fans around the place, it's not creepy at all but I find it strange that you can only hear it when in the middle area.

Out of bound in urchin underpass (maybe black belly skate park it has highways I think :/) have foot prints that lead of a building, I think they might be those of the laughing statues and phone calls as in I think someone jumped off.... yeah.... it's dark but hey, its creepy

The same thing happens in splatoon if you are in the mahi mahi resort in splatoon and you get close to a squid beacon you can here the same thing. Im not sure if it happens any where but you'll have to see for yourself. I hope you see this and spread the word.

I want to make a request. I went into the Money vs. Love splatfest’s Shifty Station (the one with cannons) on recon, and was going to check the map out but noticed strange music in the background near the spawnpoint. It was kind of an ambient, ethereal theme and was able to be heard from the start of the match (right after recon began). However, I do not know if it is audible after this time because I only recorded it in a 30 second clip and did not get to participate in the Chicken vs. Egg splatfest. Could you check it out next splatfest and see how long it’s audible, where it’s audible, and and if there are any more sounds? Thanks. Also, another little easter egg. The phone Agent 8 uses in the Octo Expansion trailer is the same one that’s on the side of Marie’s cabin in the normal singleplayer. It’s on the side to the right of the cages with the little... creatures in them, near the top of the wall.

If you place beckons down, you will be able to hear the voices from the phone. Like something or someone is trying to communicate

well, i found the same sound on splatoon 2: follow my instructions, first go to a walk on any map with an octobrush nouveau , then put a squid beacon and hear the creepy sounds

Its the previous test subjects crying for help but they are so far underground that the signal is distorted and the call ends only to be blended into the raw material of the new world I believe someone in nintendo is trying to add some secret story behind the main story because this is also tied with the boss screams

I just saw another video on Inkblot academy where in a corner there was a inkling sculpture(Broken sorta) , I'm ganna check it out next time the stage is in rotation

I think these are the octolings trying to make contact with the world they live underground....so i think they try to go up there or try to make contact with another octoling to get to the real world, i think that's an octoling suffering and trying to get help.

I think this is probably some reference to commander Tartar. The ringing is very similar to the sounds he makes after you discover a thang or the first time you meet him. I have a theory that the ringing is actually him trying to make contact with the inklings and sanitise them. Just like he did with the octolings... which is why the octolings are screaming...

What if the Octoling on the phone was Agent 8 trying to contact the player in Splatoon(A.K.A. Agent 3)

It can mean agent 8 is calling the other agents like agent 3 or inklings screaming for help

Hey, great video! I'm sorry since this has probably been brought up a lot, but in Splatoon 3 the devs added another Splatfest secret similar to this where in Umami ruins, one of the encaged behind glass statues (an artifact of some sort) starts to moving, turn, and glow! It's pretty cool and even a little funny to see this little secrets added to the games, so perhaps there's a theme with Splatfest stages having these creepy secrets. I also heard there might be a statue secret in M.C. Princess Diaries in Splatoon 2. Amazing video!

Inklings also communicate with this radio sounds mid-battle of the use of beacons. They also make these Inkling-ish noises (Splatoon 1 and 2 but you can better hear it in Splatoon 1)

So that's from the squid beacons as you may know and I have a question how does a pay phone ring? Its a pay phone they don't normally ring and who's voices could they be PS only inklings and octolings and that one boss can respawn as all others just die no little squid or octopus after death meaning they DIE!! So what if inklings and octolings are just little squids and they use ink to form body's and that when they die there little squid body dies?

This is how the story is told... The octolings that tried to escape to the surface did not have the same luck as 10008. For punishment, commander tar tar would record there last seconds of there death while getting blended... And send them to surface to let there voice get to the surface before them.

I'm surprised at how this game that initially back during E3 2014 I dismissed as "Nintendo trying to cash in on the shooter genre while also keeping it safe" goes so deep. Honestly, I'd also love to see Nintendo try their hand at the horror genre, they're creative enough that I think they could pull off something genuinely amazing.

Now concerning your safety: the only real risk to you as the night watchmen here, if any, is the fact that these characters...uhh, if they happen to see you after hours probably won’t recognize you as a person. They'll p-most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without it's costume on. Now since that's against the rules here at at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, they'll probably try to...forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit. Um, Now that wouldn't be so bad if the suits themselves weren't filled with crossbeams, wires and animatronic devices especially around the facial area. So, you could imagine having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort... and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when the pop out the front of the mask, heh. Y-yeah they don't tell you these things when you sign up. But hey, first day should be a breeze. I'll chat with you tomorrow. I also found something in Octo Expansion, in the the boss room with the Samurai boss there's no more screams and it's just dead quiet. You can hear some clanking in the pipes. My theory is that some Octolings still are with DJ Octavio, and they're planning on breaking the snow globe and rescuing him, which could lead to Splatoon 3

I just realized that the octo expansion takes place around/right after a splatfest (probably pulp vs no pulp since marina says about the “resent” changes in inkopolis in the squid vs octopus splatfest announcement) so someone (probably agent 8) was trying to contact someone with the phone (aka tartar) asking for help (it could probably be another octoling test subject)

After playing Octo Expansion... this is VERY dark even for Splatoon

I found something rather interesting about the phone booth after beating the Octo Expansion! After completing the Octo Expansion, I went to said phone booth during the last splatfest and found out that it won’t starting, if you play as an Octoling. However, if you play as an Inkling, the phone does ring, but only when there’s 10 seconds left on the clock.

Since the phone in the octo expansion rings and makes calls like any other phone in real life and in the game, maybe when agent8 and cap n cuddlefish where getting blended by the phone, the phone call from the phone in this map could of been a mistake call kind of thing and called the phone on the map and the screams could of been agent 8 and cap n cuddle fish talking to Pearl and Marie My fingers hurt

I get the hunch that Splatoon has some dark secrets that will be partially explained in the Octo Update. Between the sounds from the boss rooms, the laughing sculptures, now this? We shall see...

if we are going to talk about spooky stuff in splatoon, we must remember that nintendo is well know for adding spooky easter eggs in their games, pokemon and mario games has a lot of ghost an other spooky easter eggs too.
