Toby is such a good boy, Tabby has been a great mother. We categorize newborns temperaments (1) easy, which is a baby who is easy to soothe, only cries for a reason, eats good, sleeps good, (2) slow to warm, the quiet baby who doesn't protest much, quiet, may appear to be in their own world (3) difficult, one who cries easy, protests alot, hard to soothe. This temperament is for life. Tizzy has been a difficult baby, she was a protester as a newborn. Of course I don't know if monkey temperaments are the same as humans, but they appear to be. I remember Aggys' kidnappings and ear biting episodes. Now that Aggy has Lily and Poppy she really has settled in to motherhood with a softer side. ;)
Omg Arroz! Ok, is that you’re voice or computer enhanced? Either way...I LOVE it!!!!! What an unexpected surprise! Would love to hear more! Especially because I think by doing a voice over, you’re able to explain what’s going on, or why the kids & parents are doing the things they are doing. I love the pop ups too, and you’re videos are SO amazing, (I certainly hope U get paid for this??) and I’m sure it must be pricey and time consuming just to entertain us! But it was really neat hearing you’re voice (or what may sound like your voice!) and hope you continue to mix it up and surprise us like that! Makes me feel like we are just one big happy Monkey Hill family!

Great video and so good to hear a voice. I was struck by how Granny wanted to snatch that baby away from Aggie. Clearly she knew that baby belonged with Tabby and did everything she could besides grabbing the baby, to get it back. Toby is a good son. I can't believe we are getting four tonight. Best part about Wednesday's.

Arroz..I've been watching your CSI videos about the abuse and cruelty to the monkeys in Cambodia. First off, I feel so stupid for having fallen for these videos and getting hooked on the supposed "accidents " these monkey families were experiencing. These VO are slime and mostly what I want to ask is what can I do to help end this whole thing and make RU-vid stop them cold? I don't have a blog...don't even know how to set one up, to bring awareness to the problem. Let me know...I want to help.

They are all related the females are forbidden to go outside the troop to mate and therefore the big males the alpha could be the females son from.2 yrs ago the inbreeding is terrible in the DNA

I remember this when you introduced us to Tabby and Toby as a special baby that doesn't forget his mom when he gets special treats and return to her with the treat. That to me is definitely exceptional since most Macaque monkeys are not always willing to share like Tina with her babies Tiny and Teeny. In fact, Tina steals "food out of the baby mouths?" That is shocking. I don't see that too often so it pleased me when Toby cared enough to return to mom with treats!

I wonder if the difference in behavior could be due to different genes; perhaps Toby and Tizzy have different fathers? Low ranking females usually hang out away from the center of the group/gatherings (else they get scolded by higher ranked monkeys or the alpha female). And if they're near the edge of the group, there's a much higher chance they encounter bachelor males looking to hook up with low ranking females. This is precisely why bachelor males hang out near the outskirts of troops and slink around.

papinbala , I am an old lady ,I been watching this kid for years and his work has as improved so much . I enjoy the monkeys been watching them grow since dopey was born .His work is landscapes phototherapy so going from things standing still to movement is not an easy task but as you can see he has master both. So if an old lady can not praise somebody work after so many years with out a Rude comment I can only hope when you improve in something some one does the same for you and not knock the person doing it.
Just curious if you have been able to decipher the body language such as when Granny stuck her arse in Aggy's face. Viewing it with human eyes it seems like a very rude thing to do but it seems to be a rather more amenable thing to do between monkeys. It seems to me that they are saying "Hi, how are you?" Or some corny pick up line.
Hi Arroz. I have not long been watching your videos and love them . Getting lots of info on the family members is awe inspiring. It is sad sometimes and I hate it when I do see them getting hurt but that is life I suppose in the monkey 🐒 world and in all of us. Loved the voice over! Loved loved loved it! Beautiful (as always).and incredibly sad. But it does answer the questions of what happened to our babies. And such sweet facts about Toby! I vividly remember the discussions we had back then wondering if the baby’s Mum was nearby (because the baby HAD to be getting fed), wondering which Monkey it was (and I kept watching Granny stroking his cheek... it seemed so “human”). Anyway.... sorry for long comment. LOL I just love your investigator videos... it usually means you have answers! LOL Thanks so much Arroz. I hope you use the voice over again. Nice that the rhesus kidnappers are at least somewhat gentle with the babies instead of dragging them around by the tail and stepping on their heads like the LTM kidnappers.

I know it’s not important to have audible cometary with each of your videos I just find it just a bit better when I can place a voice with a name. Every time I watch, I fall in love with everything, good or bad, and I find that I learn new things about tribes, and weaning, and social structure....I may dabble with other videos, but as soon as I see you name, I make a bee line back to you and your fuzzy friends 🐒

I have new found respect for Tabby and Toby, I have just NEVER seen a baby hold on to food to share with it's mother before and Tabby losing a baby before, then having Toby kidnapped by Aggy; Tabby must have been so anxious! Wow lower than gypsy that's bad! Hold on, did you say she can skip a year by choice? That's certainly a very dif fact that most animals dont have. She decides not to go into heat? Not to mention most of the alpha males won't be put off. I've seen males pretty much rape young females that are scared and try to run away. It's pretty sickening. He will hound her and the longer the madder he gets. He will sling her down and hold her with his weight esp since some males are more than twice the size of young females. It's pretty much turned me against the males. Teeny was held and patted by a male bachelor that was sweet but she isn't ready yet. He's 3x her size. Of course he isn't an alpha and probably wanted the tryst to remain secret. Idk the info I have is pretty much on long tails. These operate much dif than they do.
If only other channels were half as good as yours is ! But sadly their not so much greed, corruption, torture and willing to hurt them in any way that would get money ? At 10:46 in that thumbnail picture you had written that Toby was 4 months old but he looked to be a few weeks old, are you sure that you didnt mean to put Toby's age at 4 weeks old!? Its like if Toby was 4 months old in that pic he would be a lot bigger.
That's awful and they are vulnerable it's why in God's eyes we the people were put here on this earth and given the responsibility to take care of God's creation just as Adam was in the very beginning and we will be held accountable by God almighty for not doing so .they need shelter I don't care if it's a cave people have to do something to help these creatures survive .

It was a blessing for the cold snap to thin the population a tiny bit. It would have been better for a longer colder winter, possibly a few in a row to ease up the over population problems

I think you are a very bright individual Arroz however a lot of your comments in your videos are perceived as factual from a view point of view but are not. And yes, you are right a lot of the time but please do not use your views as facts as a lot of what you say in your videos is untrue and only a hypothesis on your part.
@imacademic That’s true, except Arroz himself said he was a British ex pat. Back when he began posting videos on a more regular basis, he had more time to answer viewers questions. He explained that he uses this as a screen name as it’s his 2nd favorite food. LOL His favorite food was already taken.
