Investing in a Real Cat Tree for My Kittens | The Cat Butler

Today, I invested in a real cat tree with leaves for my kittens. The tree was harvested from forests in Georgia and then dried out to be crafted into a natural Cat Tree.
The tree truly has exceeded expectations. It has protected my furniture from damage as the bark on the tree serves as a natural scratching post and my kittens spend 80% of their time on it.

What a beautiful cat tree!!! You have inspired me to build one! Did you videotape your assembly of this tree? I would love to know the number of platforms you used, the approximate size of each one, and the overall height of the tree. It looks like you incorporated 4 platforms including the base. It appears that there are 3 natural wood supports for each platform. You can probably use the foliage off an artificial Ficus tree at a craft store. What a fun project this could be!!!

My concern is that they'd use the leaves for a chew toy and possibly break off & swollen them whether whole or in bits. I would otherwise love to get my now 6-1/2 month olds similar ;o}

@@lorenalotito5607 I thought would be way more!!!! Thank u for the link. I have a F2 & F3 savannah cats. Been looking for a Maine Coon or a RD. So torn!!! I have joined many FB groups on MCs. Some say their cats are not cuddly. My 1st choice was a RD but thought the personality of a MC would be a better fit with our SVs. Idk if u know anything about SVs. I would so appreciate ur input. Our SVs are friendly but not snuggly. Our F3 will turn 7 in Feb. I lost my dog of 15yrs and want a cuddly/snuggle buddy. My SVs are highly energetic. Esp, my 4yr old F2. She plays endlessly. She is the most cuddliest..... only with me and my hubby.

How do you keep those leaves clean? Here in Miami they would get very dusty and would be a pain to clean. You must live in a very clean air city.

I want to get a cat tree similar to the one you have but we have a lot of plants around out house and we want to train out cat not to scratch the existing plants around the house. I saw ythat you also have plants around your house. How do you deal with having a real cat tree and house plants, I feel like having a real cat tree will make the cat feel like the other plants around the house are toys as well. Also, where did you purchase that cat tree?

Hey Meitou thats a good question. So one of my cats naturally likes to bite on the plants, but I found he has lost interest over time. also having cat grass near by distracts them. They love cat grass over the other plants. So this tree was custom made and the person that helped me make is out of business unfortunately.

Sorry if this was already noted in the video but is that carpet on the individual platforms? Or is it scratching type carpet for the cat to scratch on? LOVE the cat tree!! 👍 It looks so beautiful like nature!!

Hey good question! It is stronger carpet on the individual platforms to resist the wear and tear of the cats. They can be replaced if its too worn. The carpet is super soft for the cats to sleep on. Its more for the comfort. Hope that helps!
