Great video again, we spoke recently and I also requested a video like this so thank you. I’ve only been investing for a year and diversify across US/UK stocks, Dividend paying, Tech growth stocks and also VUSA. I always thought I was good with money but I was actually good at budgeting and surviving. Now at 50 I realised that the money should’ve been put to work many years ago for compound interest. With investments, a house to liquify, personal pension and eventually a state pension I know I’ll get there. Meanwhile I need to get through to my kids to start investing early, that’s another challenge altogether 😂👍🏻

Great content! I personally would like for you to make a blueprint. Could be multi video. How much you should put in monthly to dividends to grow to x. If you did these dividends, maybe you'll get to xyz over 10 years. Anyhow, just a suggestion. Im 7 years out and not leveraging divs as heavily yet, so the advice would be rad. Take care!

Awesome ! If i were in your shoes, I would put 50% of my time on health (working out, healthy food, massage, sports) and live as long as I can. I still have still some years ahead of me until I can live off my investment but working remotely. Freedom is truly priceless.

The problem I have with investing specifically for dividends is that it may not be what you want because it's forced income. When you're working, you don't want forced income (that you don't need), then later you'll have other forced income (Social Security and RMDs) and may not need the dividends. Forced income (that you don't need) incurs income taxes and then later it may trigger additional fees such as IRMAA premiums (for Medicare) and cause more of your Social Security to be taxed. It's a complicated mess that's nearly impossible to navigate but the advantage of low or no dividends is that you are in control - because you decide whether to sell shares. Of course, the counter point is that while dividends do go up and down, when stocks tank dividends may drop but less so. There's no right answer but anyone contemplating focusing on dividends should consider the tax and fee consequences not just for the current year but also over the arc of the rest of their life.

@@nunuvyurbiz123 good thoughts , some points here : When dividend stocks go down in share value , you called it tank, the dividend does not go down. This statement was not correct. The dividend is not based on the share value. I was paid right through the 2008 crash. And the 2020 lockdown crash too :-) Another point was you mentioned tax implications? The first $47,000 you make in qualifying dividends is federal tax free! If you move your state residence to Texas no state tax either. You can literally retire with zero tax … ask me how I know :-) I hope I have cleared up these misunderstandings

@@RetireandGo I did not characterize going down in value as necessarily tanking. If stocks do tank (which is not the same as merely going down in value) then dividends typically do get cut too, although not as much. And I pointed that out as a positive for dividends. Also, saying that the first $47K "in qualifying dividends" is federal tax free is NOT correct. Rather, the PORTION of your first $47K in taxable income (from ALL sources) that is qualified dividends is federal tax free. This is a common misunderstanding. For example, if your YT channel generates $45K in net income, only $2K of your dividends will be tax free (I'm ignoring the standard deduction for purposes of this). But the point I was trying to make was not about trying to avoid taxes on the dividends that you do need, but rather the problem of paying taxes on dividends that you don't need. If you spend all your dividends then it's not an issue but when you're working, and later when you have other forced income, you may not be spending all your dividends.

I'm keeping it simple. Invest 80% on SP500 (VOO) and 20% Individual stock picks (NVDA/TSLA) . Once you reach 2-3M in NW. if you live a simple life, it would be enough to sustain you until you die.

Excellent question I use multiple online brokers as I don’t want all my money in one institution I do have a CPA that does my taxes every year for about $100 She does it all digitally and I even sign digitally haha I pay state and federal taxes online as well super easy from anywhere

Good video and agree DRIP is the way to go and it's great you were able to ride the wave of market gains over the past 20( years. With the disruption that AI/Robotics represent will be interesting to see if you see that as a opportunity for further upside or a threat as consumer spending is threatened from higher unemployment. A new realm where higher corporate profits from improved productivity are taxed to help offset a displaced workforce? One thing is for certain a reckoning is coming.

I think you are right So many changes are coming We can’t even fathom I moved into foundational dividend stocks like industrial metals and chemicals and energy etc etc I don’t know what’s going to happen with retail if people start losing jobs to AI Look at the restaurant industry It’s collapsing

@@RetireandGo I’m 30, with a decent income, and I would want to retire early… maybe 40. I’m torn between dividend ETFs that focuses on growth like SCHD and VOO, ETFs that focuses on income like JEPI/Q, or your approach of individual dividend stocks and the holding amount is up to the individual.

I don't see the point of dividend stocks versus "normal" stocks. Even if the stocks do not pay dividends you could sell a part of the appreciation gains as an "income". It appears more to be a "psychological" illusion of having a regular income...

Just an observation why is it that US you tubers feel the need to give life lessons to viewers instead of just showing us in this case Thailand.
