If this is your first GDQ viewing, please watch from 1:16-48:11. It's a bit of time to ask for, but if you watch it, you'll understand why this is a thing. Not all runs are equal, but this is one of the best I've ever seen, from the run itself to the couch comments to the audience... You can feel the community in this run. It's a good time. Only wish I could have seen it live.
I can't work out what they are trying to do with the giant P switch when they all shout "Ah he got it!" at the end of the level.... can someone please enlighten me? I've seen it on loads of runs now but it's never explained what they are trying to get lol
You know, I've been wondering... does anyone playing these hacks make use of the two-player feature? I wonder how much longer that takes? x) Also, I wish death animations and pipe-traveling were that fast in the actual Mario games.

Juzcook, the creator of this hack and the person on right sitting on couch, is an Aussie. Juz stated on SMWCentral this hack has no kaizo blocks in it. On the very last level there's one kaizo and block Dode revealed it during the run.
"Vanilla" means a hack only has elements from the original game (even if they're used unconventionally), or that a game is being played without any mods. And "Chocolate" is backformed from it, to mean a hack/game has custom/modded elements.
To me many kaizo hack creators are artists creating something unique. There are many other great kaizo hacks that have inspired other creators to make these levels. Go watch other members of the SMW kaizo community and ask questions. 45:00 of the VoD pretty much answers your question.
