“In this position world champion Magnus Carlsen resigned the game.” Something very rarely heard on this channel Congrats Maxime for such brilliant play
@@yashshukla3130 It's always good to see the top losing from times to times, otherwise it means there is no competition at all and this is very bad for a sport (hard to find entertainment in a game that is won from the start). It does not necessarily means that you don't like the champion because he is the champion.
"congratulations you're an excellent solver-of-positions-that-never-happened-actually-over-the-board" That pretty much sums up my entire chess existence!!!
100 % agree, and as someone who suffers from insomnia quite often, his voice is soothing like Bob Ross, really helps me when I go to sleep. Anyone else?
Anyone reading this comment please note how aris recognized that food was a compliment watching an upload by agadmator only a crazy man would wait for food if a fresh upload has arrived.
He's probably the most popular chess RU-vidr in the world by a comfortable margin. I started watching his videos back in last December when he was just under 300k subscribers. I subbed at around 310k and it's getting by another 100k in the last 6 months. He's gotten a lot better and more comfortable with his presentation in the past year or so if you compare to some of his earlier videos where he was a little more stiff. I enjoy his daily videos and he's very deserving of a sub imo.
12:09 “the knight controls both the e2 square and the queen” Controlling the king’s wife, this is the most clever war tactic i’ve ever heard of. This is better than straight out checkmating the king. Nice going you naughty knight you!
Surprised that you didn’t mention that after this game MVL was officially the highest rated blitz player in the world, and still is. In the live ratings MVL is at 2925 and carlsen is at 2910. it’s not unlikely carlsen will take the spot back within the next month or two but still very impressive that MVL was able to take the No. 1 spot from carlsen, something no one has had the pleasure of saying since Ding Liren back in 2016.
On hearing the title I thought Magnus would win in the street fight game between mvl and him in the same tournament but it is other match where the result is opposite.
Lol I’ve competed in three state championships before, and whenever I play I just try to remember the lines in all of Agadmators’ vids. And believe it or not, that strategy helped me defeat countless 1900-2400 players
I hope MVL can win a candidates soon....He might not be as good for the game as Carlsen as he is not very handsome and is shy and humble but he certainly has some amazing play at times where I think he could Take Carlsen in a Title Match.
After white knight captures rook on c3 and bishop challenges the white rook from c4.. best move was knight to d5 instead of d1. Now the rook cannot be captured as its the royal fork by capturing bishop on e7. And if the knight at d5 is taken by the dark Knight. Simply pawn captures to put a tempo on black queen! And thats how it'll be a double rook vs double bishop.. and that'll be completely winning for while... #agadmator please reply to this comment...
Sorry guys,in the previous comment I had mentioned wrongly, actually that street fight was the game between carlsen and karjakin(not sure ,but not mvl) not with mvl
Okay im just a casual Chess player so can someone explain at like 5:46 why you wouldn't save the rook over the knight? Because the boards still closed off or something?
2 minor pieces are worth more than a rook, which is the same as saying that an exchange (the difference between a rook and a minor piece) is worth less than a piece. White is losing only an exchange (after losing the rook, he captures the bishop back), it's better than losing a whole knight. (Arguably, in the alternative, white gets a pawn for the knight he lost, which evens things out, but there are probably additional positional considerations).
@@bitcoinisrael1000 okay that makes sense I wasn't paying attention that the bishop was lost first and the alternative you lose an extra knight. Thanks.
Who are those people that give "👎" to the video? They maybe think the game is "not good" or upset on magnus losing the game. - It can not be otherwise...
“That’s how you do it”. Thanks, I’ll keep it in mind for next time I face the champ.... :) Seriously, I always do my best to exchange sacrifice my queenside rook in the Najdorf. It’s a matter of style, if the opportunity presents itself, take it.
MVL Play style Step 1 : Play passive. Step 2 : make a useless sacrifice in order to afraid ur opponent. Step 3 : Wait for blunder Step 4 : Destroy ur opponent in 1 move. Step 5 : Enjoy 😉
I'm an excellent solver of positions that never happened actually over the board! I've never been excellent at anything in my life :-| ... (On agad's channel anyway) (14:00)
