THere is also a game with Vassily Ivanchuk that traps the 2nd queen in a corner but doesnt capture it and in the end he wins . Unfortunately i dont remember who he was playing but i am sure someone can help us on this one since it's a pretty amazing game .
Let’s see what we have. I’m playing against the world champion and he has two queens. Should I resign? No I’m good I think I can hold it. I give him full credit for courage and resolve.
He did have a rook and a bishop for a queen which is generally more or less ok and in these time controls blundering can happen and tricks can be put to use. I saw the game live Carlsen at one point had 1 minute to Nepo's 6.
I will give you a problem, if I remember correctly was like this, feel free to solve it. Black pawns on a7, b7, b6, c6, e7, f7 and king on a6 White pawns on b4, e5, e3 and the king on a4. White moves and wins, the problem is “zugzwang” theme.
I saw another comment on a previous one of your videos asking for the fide ratings to be displayed. Just wanted to reiterate the idea as I think it is a good one
I really like not adding it. It paints more of a picture of just 2 players fighting each other, rather than 2 numbers of strength used for a calculation
You are the best thing to happen to chess education, at least for me. I have learned so much from you, and I eagerly await your videos daily. It's part of my routine to watch and learn from your transcriptions. Thank you, and keep it up, man!
Queen B, not Queen Bee. There are two Queens that can make that move so you have to specify which one, in this case there is the Queen on the B file and the Queen on the E file.
Agadmator. thank you for the awesome videos and the awesome hypothetical lines. it really is nice to hear those other lines in addition to the game itself
- Padrino, some white pawn is taking control over the center of the zone. - Let's welcome him the Sicilian way... - What was the fav setting of the ancient Chinese grandmasters? Stonewall. - When Tesla played chess he was preparing all sorts of discoveries. - The recent substitution of Popes was like moving back a bischop to regain control over the left wing.
I think I'll put this position which Carlsen has two queens and play against Stockfish, there are too many opportunities to blunder the game, and I'm certain Stockfish will teach me them.
Can you imagine? We're revisiting Capablanca's streak... and maybe we're watching Carlsen in the middle of a great spell... and all at the same time. Thank you Agad.
Agreed! Don't know about you but I find it rude by Ian to keep playing, just resign the god damn game, you are plaing a 2900 and he has 2 fucking Queens, jesus... Talking about being a douche...
@@-_Nuke_- Crap! There were a thousand ways how to blunder and Nepo had 5 times more on the clock. And it's not the type of position where you are sure your oponent knows what he does.
If you really want to be strong...push 100 passed pawns...do 100 nice rook lifts...find 100 nasty discoveries...study 10 end games...and watch Agadmator's videos every day. 😁
14:42 Nepo has a force exchange for queen with Rf8 with check trading rook and Bishop for queen is a fair deal leaving White with a knight and a queen vs rook and queen which isn’t bad
They say "the two bishops" is really good, sometimes worth 7 pawns (versus one bishop at 3). Two queens tend to block each other too much and might be worth only 16 pawns, versus the traditional 9 for one. But obviously position matters hugely when one side has two queens.
Well, I couldn't find the first move. I had the right idea as far as the possible mating pattern is concerned, but didn't see a way to start. I got stuck on trying to find a way to check mate and when I couldn't, I just gave up. I should have looked further, after all, PASSED PAWNS MUST BE PUSHED! As soon as I saw it, I realized that it was the only logical move. I recently studied GM Boris Alterman's video course "Power Pawns" which is full of sacrifices to get two connected passed pawns to the sixth and seventh ranks where they can't be stopped. Now that I had the right idea, I easily solved the second move quiz.
#Suggestion Plz do a book review on the book Alfazero Game Changer. Also you can do a book review series where you will show great books for different level of players. Like who agrees
"Qbxd5" ... Let me give you an advice. If you ever write "Qxd5" on your score sheet and it happened to be your opponents move, just resign the game. Your opponent has 2 Queens and he has to specify with which one it took whatever you had on d5 or any other square. Unless you have 2 Queens yourself that can deliver mate or capture on the same square please resign the game, you are embarrassing yourself. Or don't resign the game if you are playing me or any of the people in the comments, as we would love to checkmate you with any number of Queens :D What an amazing game by the WC! Really deserved the Morphy tittle, this should grow to be one of rapid chess immortals!
god damn magnus is playing some sublime chess lately, its like since he defended his world championship he has been unleashed to a whole new level, wouldnt be surprised to see him overtake his highest ever rating soon
My sense also. It's likeCarlson of years ago combined with Carlson the grinder, and Carlson the great endgame player. Stunningly good chess, even for slow time controls.
With the position at 14:44, why is Rook f3 to f8 check not considered for a potentially forced relatively even end game? I'm probably missing something but it seems to me you trade a rook and a bishop for a queen and a pawn with tempo on the king. I'm definitely missing something, because both these guys would crush me in less than 12 moves. But to me, its still an interesting idea?
