It took an artist n talent to make black n white pics successful. Goofy sometimes but that was the times. Today all high tech n the acting was lost “ in my opinion “. Love that phrase 😂😂😂😂😂
This is one of it's best movie. Every time that I see or hear that, Legacy is playing on the movie I have to watch it or see it.i truly enjoy watching his roll,as a killer, or a vampire, or white zombie, etc. His character is always different. I grow weary of African-Americans portrayed as servants, but to my delight, Evans was an integral part of the plot, and his character was multi-layered and multi-dimensional. The actor, Clarence Muse, presented the character with dignity, restraint, and in a non-stereotype fashion. Not bad for 1941. Kudos to the studio and producers. Oh, and incidentally, Bela Lugosi creeped the hell outta me, while making me feel empathy for him as well. The other characters were likable...good acting all around. Thanks for posting.
They were called the Dead End Kids at first. Then the East Side Kids. Then they were the Bowery Boys and made a lot of movies. One was Bowery Boys Meet the Monsters. I just saw a clip of it where they are at their hangout Louie's Sweet Shop.
