Wembley 1991. My favourite band. Michael Hutchence was the GOAT frontman...serious magic.

This was an ENCORE. You need to look earlier in the concert like Suicide Blonde.

I saw them in their Kick tour. Michael Hutchence was such a charismatic frontman. The Farris brothers and the rest of the band were fantastic musicians.

Oh that voice, smooth and rough, raw and sexy. RIP Micheal you are certainly missed. Who knows how much farther they would have gone, had he not passed. I love the flow of this song 🎶 and the fact that their music was not cookie cutter. Music that actually had depth and feeling. Please continue to go down the INXS rabbit hole!!💕 Loved the eaction Hap, you got it!!! 🔥

Oh, INXS was on my introduction list for a while and my plan is now totally messed up! Lol I was actually going for another song but this one is definitely my second favourite by INXS!! I've always loved their sound and Michael's voice (and his moves 😁). And, Hap, you probably weren't expecting such a slow song at the concert because people would usually recommend you to react to more energetic songs that fire up the audience. But these gentle interludes are normal and welcome during the show to change the pace a bit. For the audience and for the musicians probably. Because who could listen pumped up rhythym for two hours and no break!? The crowd's reaction here did show how they appreciated the song. And most artists do have different songs in their catalogue. Queen is the best example.

I’ve never heard this kind of rock ballad of them, although I know some of their songs. Very jazzy and as the sax came in - awh, fantastic. I agree, to perform such a song live, it only goes to show, that they are 💯 capable of, awesome. Great reaction HAP and fantastic find of this live version Jill🤩🙋🏻‍♀️.

Oh yes. Definately worth going down the INXS rabbit hole. One of the biggest bands in the world in the late 80's.

Music is an escape for me! Michael had such a powerful voice. I believe they opened for Queen in 1986 at Wembley if i am not mistaken. This is such an incredible song that could not be pulled off by anyone! Thanks for the reactions. Have a great weekend.

Yeah, but it will have to be another one as I planned 🙂 INXS deserves its' place on this channel, no matter who introduced it first, they did produce lots of great and diverse music!

As far as I remember from the recordings of this legendary concert, this song was played almost near the end. They had played so many powerful songs that evening throughout their show so this ballad was a good opportunity for everybody at that venue to relax a bit and calm down.

---> Yes, absolutely worth going down the INXS rabbit hole. Need You Tonight would have been a great first intro to INXS, or New Sensation, Suicide Blonde, What You Need. Sometimes it can make a huge difference what song one hears first from an artist whether one wants to hear another one or not. INXS are well worth exploring. U2 and Michael Hutchence were good friends and it broke their hearts to lose him. They wrote a song for him.

Appreciate the honesty, but this is one of the biggest songs of the 80s.. It's a ballad, all bands will have a few songs in a set to give themselves and and the crowd a break. From this same concert, Wembley stadium 1991 where the crowd of 72k adoring fans go mental: Guns in the Sky, New Sensation, Suicide Blonde, What You Need, and Devil Inside! The INXS rabbit hole is definitely worth diving into and always LIVE!

Thanks, Hap...I became aware of this group and song as they were popular when my daughter was a teenager. I have always liked it....especially that sax solo. I think any band can get away with songs like this at a concert if the song was popular on the radio first. The opening bars of any song will transport everyone to a point of time in their life when it was popular and generally they are good moments of time so it carries one through the concert without missing a beat. If you went to this live performance and no one had ever heard the song before and they played it, I would guess that it would be a bringer downer. Everyone would probably be questioning it and the flow of the concert would be disrupted. (Just my thought) INXS is a great band and worth your time if you aren't familiar with them. Take care and be well. Peace.

Actually, Michael wasn't saying he was very surprised the audience was receiving the song; he was referring to the next song they were about to perform "Who pays the price". Listen to the recorded version because the beats were not the way you heard them imo. "Never Tear us Apart" I believe made it to top 5 on the charts.

His voice is melodic 🎵 Don't get upset, when I heard the first notes on the piano, I thought of Queens, the show must go on 🫣 Great song choice Jill ❤ Hap, why this is my favorite channel, MUSIC 🎶 Who doesn't like music? I like knowing when I come here, I'm going to hear something new or something old....love the mixture. Thank you, Hap, for staying true to music ✌️ ☮️ ❤ 🥷

This Australian band was pretty new in 1983 when I first saw them live, absolutely loved them their music of all time sad ending to the lead single Michael Hutchensen, who was found hung in his hotel closet.♥️♥️♥️R.I.P. I listened to them for over 40 years….still.

if inxs or michael hutchence make you go to sleep you don't have a pulse, and the reason it was played is because it is/was one of the biggest rock hits ever.

They were a HUGE band of U2 status, Try New Sensation, Need You Tonight, Suicide Blonde, Disappear, Heaven Sent, What You Need. You made a poor choice from this DYNAMITE concert at Wembley 1991...this is the ENCORE. A rabbit hole you really need to go down.
@lauraallen55
@lauraallen55 10 месяцев назад
I wouldn't call it a poor choice. It's more like an uninformed choice as a first listen to a band. But then, how would he know what would be a good first listen for anyone? It's not always easy to know what to suggest to someone for a first listen to an artist. Normally, those suggesting suggest their favorites as opposed to what would make the most sense. In this case, Need You Tonight, New Sensation, What You Need, Suicide Blonde would all be great for a first listent to INXS.

It was one of their big hits, played over and over again on MTV, that’s why the fans loved it so much, I loved them but I also found this song a little bit boring apart from the saxophone solo at the end. Jump back to Ren instead if you ask me 😅
