This is great aside from the fact that you send your token to Firestore **every time** the app opens. Firebase's FCM Best Practices suggest we only need to do this monthly **or** when the token expires. How do we check expired tokens or schedule token updates?

I am building a video calling app using ionic and connectycube. But i am facing issues with showing a whatsapp like call notification which persists on the UI until the ring timeout. I am not able to do that. I am just able to send a notification. Can you please help me with this? Thanks, Abhiram

I recently started with Ionic 5 and couldn't find config.xml which is apparently for cordova project. For capacitor it's capacitor.config.json, appId field. I've also used Firebase X plugin cause the one in the video doesn't seem to be maintained anymore

The Admin SDK Example is old and not FCM conform. With that solution you won't be able to send costom images, etc. for Android. I know Phonegap Push Plugin & Ionic recommand that, but the official FCM-Documentation is better. Maybe I'll do a tutorial for that

Are you are using ionic 4?, because with an ionic 3 (attached to angular 5.2 thanks to the framework) it says some angular 6 modules are needed for that.

Because i couldn't set it more than about 5 minutes because app take itself standby mode after 5-6 minutes and it is not sending the local notification for a information reminder application project... You did not require to login and select app for firebase function.. Ss specified in docs. I sm confused.

Like you are querying from the FireStore in this notification part, but I have data in Real-time Database, can we do the same thing which you explained in this video, from Real-time Database and not using FireStore?
