I'm looking forward to the extended dark mode in iOS18. I already have an all-black wallpaper and look forward to seeing what the dark icons look against an all-black wallpaper.
I can't believe the satellite messages could be free. Must be a catch somewhere. If not awesome, my daughter drove our truck into an area without reception on a back road and got stuck 30 miles away from home turning around. Luckily a ranger helped her out but I was on my way based on her last iPhone contact.
Sorry, the custom stuff is just not for the older generation. We just like our iPhones to work. If Apple makes it easy to "RESET TO DEFAULT" might no want to let us old folks use your iPhone.
I am quite sure I'm in a minority when I say this, but I actually don't want my iPhone to do more things. Will it be easy to turn all this AI stuff off? As much as I'd like to refuse updates, I know that will only work for so long when certain apps will require an updated OS. But for now I have actually turned off auto update... Thanks for the great service y'all provide!
The photos app is useless because you are not going to have an extensive photo collection with only 5gb of icloud. I pay for the 200gb but share with family and I can only have less than a year's worth of photos on my phone before I fill my share of 50GB. How do people have multiple years of photos on their iphone?
I have photos and videos starting from 2012 in my 50GB plan🤣. Although I lost alot of photos on my Google backup when I was team Android. How many photos you take per year??
@@GamingPIPI Currently I have 320 something photos/video = 27.5 gb in photos app stored in Icloud. Problem is I am saving the photos in raw format and my videos are 4k so a 2 min video is 1.4GB and my photos range from 20 to 60mb each. I'd fit more if I saved to less dense settings. The thought process is more dense settings allow for further editing in lightroom but I do not need to do that for every photo - I wonder if there is a way to pick some of these and convert to a more low res format.
@@tomsop ah yes that adds up quickly. For that reason I shoot in 48mp HEIF and videos in 4k30, to have a bit of a middle ground in terms of quality. My old photos were shot with old smartphones so not very much dataload 🤣
For iOS 17, the first developer beta released on June 5, 2023. The full release arrived September 22, 2023. So it was over 3 months for iOS 17. The first iOS 18 beta arrived today, so we’ll see the full release sometime in September if it follows a similar timeline Edit: if you want it early, you can install the beta but you’re accepting risk by doing it on a personal device, and there’s some nuance to it. Make sure your device is backed up beforehand (ideally to your computer and to iCloud). I would at least skip the Developer Beta and wait for the Public Beta, to be safe. For iOS 17, the first public beta dropped mid-July 2023.
Why does files automatically open a preview (and it can’t even preview most video files) rather than let you set what app to “always open with”. But the worst is not knowing where files are saved and how many copies are being made. Open in an app means copying it so good luck working with large batches of files or large files.
That’s his hotel room. He actually went to WWDC, and they don’t provide studio facilities there except for a selected few (Brian Tong, iJustine, MKBHD).
Android still reigns supreme. Still has more useful and helpful features and customisations is still far better. Still no on the fly ability to change ringtones using an MP3 file, still no way to change height of the keyboard, still no way to completely hide apps using gestures or keypad codes and no way to do full page screenshot on a third-party browser or from an a third-party app. I'll be sticking with Android forever.
