Hey Aaron I’ve been running iOS 18 beta 3 for a few hours now on my IPhone 12 Mini, No battery updates atm but it feels much smoother then beta 2, animations feel smoother for me and the heat issue has gone away now for me Update:Battery is similar to last beta, it is still the same extra hour I’ve gotten compared to iOS 17.5.1, iOS 18 is definitely more battery efficient
@@Vinicius-hy4lr it’s not really possible to give a answer so early in the beta since it only came out a few hours ago but so far it’s been average not great but better then iOS 17.5.1 been getting like a extra hour on iOS 18
Honestly, I thought I was just a pipe dream. I don’t think we’d actually get it. I mean, compared straightforward to nova launcher, or any other android third-party launcher, not all of those icon pack support every single third-party app that developers create. If this supports all third-party asked for dark mode, that’s wonderful!
It looks like it's only applying to app icons that are a solid white icon on some other color, so any app with an icon like that will automatically have a dark version

Aaron turn on developer mode scroll down in the developer section all the way and over there you will see show audio output in settings that way when you go back into settings, Siri and Siri responses, the option from beta 2 will show!
I've noticed that the screen's brightness and resolution adjust with changes in lighting conditions. In bright light, the screen becomes clearer, eliminating the need to squint…: amazing!!
Just downloaded the ios 18 beta 3 some features got worst. 1. Heating up and battery drain is there. 2. Apple car play Google maps, waze are not working plus it couldn't connect via wireless on the mbux (mercedes Benz unit) you have to restart the phone in order to connect. 4. Some icons on apps like Facebook is missing and Gmail. Honestly ios 18 is great but the bugs are there and it is not being addressed. The beta 2 is the same but no issues connecting on apple car play. But this time you cannot connect and if you do maps are not working.
I updated my phone (15 pro) to iOS 18 Beta 3 from 17.5.1 and oh wow! It literally feels like the official release, super smooth, everything runs fine, i love the new control centre, battery is great and no heating issues. There have been only 1 or 2 bugs with only the tinted option. When selecting a light tint for apps it automatically changes it back to a dark tint, has been reported through the feedback app, overall i am very impressed with the stability of the software for only a 3rd beta.
Beta 3 is already better than Beta 2 with smoother animations & faster loading times, but I don’t experience the wallpaper dimming bug anymore. Battery Life is about the same as Beta 2 in my opinion. I am on a iPhone 12.
This version is buggy. The volume scroller is missing in the control center, the microphone is always on, and the icon colors are inconsistent. Even though it's a developer version, I'm always surprised that Apple, with all the money in the world, still has so many visible bugs.

Did anyone else lose the multi-language keyboard feature when updating to IOS Beta 2? I noticed it went away and even after updating to beta 3 I still don’t see feature. Really wish they bring it back.
It finally feels like a big change is happening at Apple from a software perspective. The software engineers at Apple are some of the best in the world. Excited to see their hard work in action, should be fun.
watchOS 11 beta 3 the photos watch face has changed the time is bigger and I found a few splash screens and there’s new apps that support dark mode now
Beta 3 on the 15 Pro Max. Emojis not showing up on keyboard for me but apart from that its running quite smooth, better than Beta 2. I have had the customise problem, changing to a different home screen solves that issue for me.
The music app is really buggy, been waiting each update for a fix but nothing yet. When adding songs to playlists its either unresponsive or loads in slowly. Haven’t used it in a month almost because of it
Idk if it’s just my phone but tinted mode won’t let me change color it will just go back to orginal Edit: it does let me change color but not how light or dark it is it just goes the darkest it can wich I hate can someone tell me how to fix it?
Change your lock screen to any iOS 18 lock screen or weather lockscreen and the customization option will definitely works (after that you can go back to your personal Lock Screen again) now customization option will always work.
Bug for me in beta 3 holding screen and hitting edit then customize does nothing, can’t change color of apps or anything. Even rebooted multiple times and still doesn’t work

Happy with the improved third party app icons and hope that at some point all apps will have the dark app icons. There still are alot of apps that do not change and only get a darker hue
I don’t know if you noticed this… the emojis on the Apple keyboard are much larger and more spaced out as of this beta. It is much easier to see them now.

They should have multiple pages/layouts for control center the same way they do for the Home Screen. So you can swipe back and forth depending on the situation…
They should also have a setting that lets you select which icons you want popping up in control center and which ones to hide depending on which open you’re using.. you should also be able to change around the layout…
The one change I would be really excited about is, if there was the ability to customize the App' appearance in a semi-transparent-clear- frosted look that simulates sandblasted glass for that 'sense of hierarchy' continuity effect.
Did You check the system fonts in settings? We got 4 new ones. I still don't know what's the use of them, but I did download all of them in the previous beta where I found the others. 😂 Never seen them before.
I have a reminder set for next week (July 15-19) for the iOS 18 Public Beta but I’d be surprised if Apple releases it some time later this week. This will be my first time using a Public Beta on my iPhone and iPad and on my M2 MacBook Air when the macOS Sequoia Public Beta is available.
@@sharmaxop Right, I understand that but I’m still going to wait for the Public Beta to release next week as the Dev Betas usually still have some major bugs that need to be resolved before the Public Beta’s release.
I gotta say that I’ve not had any problems what so ever when updating. It’s fairly normal to have few bugs here and there in the beginning but overall everything works smoothly
There's an issue with the battery percentage reporting. It seems that there is an issue with the battery icon. When trying to reboot or restart after shutting down (all done after waiting for around a minute), the battery percentage showing in the icon is totally wrong. Sometimes, if it's charging, the number can jump up to 3%, say 86% to 89%. If it's unplugged, the icon can show 1% when it's actually at 90%, though the number returns to normal after 1 second. Yet, it becomes 89% in another second. Kind of confusing as to how much battery juice is actually left.
the wallpaper dimming thing isn’t a bug, when you’re in dark mode and you customize your home screen there’s a sun ☀️ button on top of automatic. when in dark mode it’s on so the wallpaper gets dimmer just a bit. it’s the reason why when you scroll from the notification panel back to the home screen it dims… it’s not a bug
Hey Aaron, here on my 14PM performance seems sluggish since update, fairly hot on the back, massive lag when on low power mode since I use a lot for battery saving. Seem to have fix the lagging with the keyboard, but the swipe shutters still remain. Keep up the good work Aaron! 😊
Funny the maps icon is improved but not the maps app itself. It sucks, you have to keep your phone right side up otherwise the map reroutes and tells me to start driving
6:48 They added a new option in Settings > Developer > (bottom) Show Audio Output in Settings, which adds the option back. I think they are meant to be developer-facing options for testing purposes, unfortunately.
ok so idk if it’s just my device but i js updated it to this version and i went to change the color of the tint for my icons and i chose a light color and it keeps glitching and darkening it, whether i have light mode on or dark mode it just refuses to stay at a lighter color

Apple has done everything great but has simply failed to add more languages on their translator. It just ignores like it doesnt matter and yet i think such simple things that are usable everyday could be greatly appreciated.
iOS 18 Beta 3 on the iPhone SE (2nd gen.). Very stable and usable. The only thing I’m not happy with is the storage situation, even though I’ve not had to do another (third) factory reset. Love the new features and changes introduced.
I find that the new queueing system in the music app is very annoying. I like the fact that the queue is now separate from the continue playing but the fact that you can’t move songs between destroys it. It is now impossible to make a song play in, for example, 10 songs, you can only add things at the start of continue playing. I’m hoping this is a bug!!
I updated two iPhones to beta 3 (iPhone 15 pro and iPhone 13 mini) and it’s the most buggy 18 beta I experienced to date. On the home screen when I click on Edit at the upper left hand corner and click customize, nothing happens. I cannot change icon size, dark/light/tint modes. already rebooted several times, l also reset the Home Screen and the issue is persistent and no matter what I try I cannot enter the "customize" section. After resetting the Home Screen, all my hidden screens re-appeared which is expected, but now I cannot hide them to stay hidden. They keep randomly re-appearing and re-arranging themselves 🤯
When i zoom in the high resolution images, the images seem very blurry and pixelated even the zoom is not exceed the image size itself. Its happen since beta 2, i give the report to apple but still no change in beta 3.. Also in beta 3, when u using automatic dark mode, the icon still in dark even the light mode is on.
Hey Aaron, I’ve been using beta 3 for a day and I’ve noticed that in Apple Books, the look up feature seems way better by showing the different meanings of the word as a list first before diving into more details about each. I also checked to see if it worked similarly across other apps and looks like it does.
Hey Aaron, great video as always! The “Respond over media source” option has actually been moved to Developer settings. If you open them and scroll all the way to the bottom you’ll see a toggle to show it in the “Siri” -> “Siri responses” section of settings.
1:28 to be fair, auto-lock and auto-brightness to the average person should be on top in my opinion, since those are things that the user can change immediately, and so if those weren’t there it would be on top
I really wish they would fix their keyboard and voice to text feature and make it work more like Gboard does on my S23 Ultra. Sometime I miss iPhone, then I’ll use my 14 Pro Max for 10 minutes and can’t stand thr keyboard
to all those testing the beta: please tell Apple that the control center submenu with airplane mode, wi-fi, bluetooth, etc should be customizable. i do not want airdrop above bluetooth for example…
