@Divinemakyr

@Langdon Alger It really all depends on how the people attack you. If they all attack you at once, there's a 90% chance 3 or more people will end up beating you by just striking. But even with the smallest amount of coordination, just 2 inexperienced people can take out 1 experienced fighter, but that is rare.
@Divinemakyr
@Divinemakyr 4 года назад
@Langdon Alger There definitely is a chance, but like I said, it is a low one. A pro-fighter, despite being a lot more durable, can still get sucker-punched. Let's say there are two angry dudes, one of them grabs the pro fighter from behind and the other one starts hitting, they have a chance of beating him. But I do acknowledge this as uncommon. I would reckon in a common bar room where a large fight has broken out, a pro judoka or boxer could ko or too 9 or 10 dudes over the course of a minute or two,
@Divinemakyr
@Divinemakyr 4 года назад
@Langdon Alger Well we were using different scenarios. So quite obviously, are answers would be different. I think you're really missing what I'm trying to say, and instead if going with it, you're getting all defensive and trying to fight. Read what I'm saying.
@Divinemakyr
@Divinemakyr 4 года назад
@Langdon Alger Dude, don't get angry, man. Keep it civil. Firstly, how am I being a hypocrite, and what is wrong with acknowledging a scenario where a pro fighter can be beaten? My argument is not falling apart at all, my argument was literally: "there is a chance, despite it being rare, that two inexperienced fighters could defeat a pro fighter if they used cheap tactics." That was always my argument. Stop acting like a baby. Be the better man, and be the one who stays civil.

A thing to know about Ip Man, he always fought without taking the fight completely seriously, but in this scene, he saw one of his friends get shot as well as found out another dear friend was beaten to death by the general he keeps staring at. Ip Man never went full force in fighting, until this fight when he could’ve taken on only 3 men, but requested 10, and after the fight, he refused the rice(which was his reward) and said he didn’t fight for the rice.

Fun fact that you can actually look up: Ipman wasn’t just Bruce Lee’s teacher but also a heavy opium and heroin addict to the point that his students had to hold on to his money to keep him from smoking...Ipman ended up dying of throat cancer in the end in real life. Also non of Ipman students wanted to train with Bruce lee because Bruce was a quarter German/English.

Donnie Yen is a legit black belt in Karate, Muay Thai, Judo, master in spear, katana and other weaponry, Parkour practicioner, BJJ. And he action sscene choreographer, movie director and plays piano very well. Donnie Yen is a huge fan of Bruce Lee: the serie "Ip Man" is a tribute to Bruce Lee's master, Ip Man, who created his own style, faced tirany and hunger when Japan invaded China, and influenced a whole generation in Martial Arts.

The thing with Ip Man is he fights his opponents and educates them but here, if you watch the whole film, you know that he’s not here to educate these guys. He’s here to destroy them. And he does. It is considered to be the best fight scenes of the franchise and rightfully so. It sends chills down my spine every time I watch it and the best part is, this is the only fight where he doesn’t get hit *once*

A japanese general organizes a sparring match since he want's to learn wing chun but his subordinates shoots a guy since after winning a match even though he got 3 bags of rice and he lost a match he later got 3 bags of rice. And his subordinate shoots the guy since he though he was cheating

So a little background to this history in short form. During WWII, there was the Pacific War in Asia. Basically, what Japan did to Asia was pretty much how the Germans did Europe, and what Japan did to the Chinese in particular, was pretty much what the Germans did to the Jews. However, Germany acknowledged their mistakes, taught about their atrocities in school and address them correctly, while Japan has heavily downplayed everything and basically brushed it off. That is also why the two nations still couldnt get along till this date

So yes, I rather get my ass kicked by Ip Man than getting shot to death by Japanese general. Also, if you don't attack, you are considered a traitor to the regime, get killed in disgrace, and even your family during Imperial Japan, will not be able to live peacefully. Of course, you haven't considered outside factors bcz not many know about the time setting and the regime of the Imperial Japan but I'm sure you will rethink it after realizing this situation.

This scene actually happened, This is one of the reason why ip man is remember to this day, as a legend, and this was bruce lees one true master he ever had, before bruce lee ever met ip man, bruce was a egotistical, rude, he thought he was better then anyone, he wanting ip man to be his master so bad, but IP resused to because of the person he was, but bruce kept nagging for IP to be his sifu " master" to the point Lee was begging IP, so IP finally agreed to be his Sifu, and changed Bruce Lee's life forever, and Bruce Lee became a humble loveable man, with the philosophy that Ip Thought him , Be like water my friends!

yes how much is the story in the movies is exaggerated? most of them must be fictional. they aren't biopic documentaries. I haven't watched any of them but apparently the IP man fights Mike Tyson in the 3rd movie? not literally Mike Tyson but a character portrayed by Mike Tyson. but I will watch them. I'm curious. it has been a long time since I watched an Asian fighting style movie, actually. more than a decade. and I'm not much of a movie person in general either. I have watched some Jackie Chen and Jet Li movies when I was a teenager. lol Bruce Lee is a legend but I never watched a single full movie of his. only RU-vid videos. the one he fights against Chuck Norris must be the most popular one.

it’s not spelled I P it’s pronounced Yip Man without the “y” since his family name is YIP
