he only learn wing chun just for Ip Man movie...the fight happen way before then...but that time already All China Wushu Champion, black belt in karate and taek kwando....for these film he learn wing chun from the direct descendent of Ip man Lagecy...and the grandmaster acknowledged him as one of the top student in Wing Chun

darkknight Not the Wing Chun part though. I think he probably used mma or some other form of fighting style because he hadn't quite learned Wing Chun yet in the 90s. He started picking up Wing Chun and kept practicing it when he did the Ip Man films.

I think during the filming of Lethal Weapon 4, Jet Li said he need to slow down his kick and punch because it was so fast, the camera failed to catch it.

The movie is NOT based on a true story. It was not meant to be a biography, and virtually everything about it is fictional. "Ip Man existed" and "he taught Wing Chun" are pretty much the only two parts of the movie that are real. Everything else is complete fiction.

Ip Man just teach Bruce Lee few moves... So, not recently master for Bruce Lee...

Ip man taught Bruce Lee from the age of 13-18 between that time Bruce would train with other Kung fu masters,when Ip Man was not available he left the training to Wong Shun Leung Ip Man’s top student! When Bruce went to Hong Kong to make movies he would visit both men and train with them.

based on an actual person, not a true story. it's actually an amalgamation of various stories about other people some are true, albeit exaggerated and some are fiction. IP Man had an amazing life, these movies weren't it though

While i wouldn't doubt that Ip Man was an exceptional and inspirational individual, i would advice everyone not to buy into the legends. Ip Man and especially Bruce Lee are easily the most overhyped martial artists in history and that despite the fact that their career as fighters (professional or otherwise) is basically non existent or at least not provable. They are both rather small (both in height and mass) as well, which is never a good thing in fighting. Most of the experienced modern fighters will tell you that both Ip Man and Bruce Lee most likely wouldn't have much success in the modern world of fighting, especially not above their weight class and not in mma. And a real fight without rules against a heavyweight mma, boxer, muay thai fighter, etc. on the streets would turn out real bad.
