Thank you so much for what you do. So nice to have a steady, nonfrantic voice. Many elderly have hearing problems so you might consider skipping the background music.
Here’s one for you. My husband and I both have an iPad and both have our own separate Apple ID. My iPad is asking me to update Facebook and Messenger. No problem. I am logged into my Apple account BUT when I go to update, the pop up box is using my husband’s Apple ID email instead of mine?? and is asking for HIS password even though I am logged into MY account?? How does this even happen. I therefore am unable to update at all. Any solutions?
I know this seems oblivious but especially for seniors, make sure your spouse, loved one or trusted friend know your Apple ID and pin code to unlock your devices. I have a friend who’s not at all tech savvy, his wife handled all the banking, bill paying, paperless bills online, etc. She never bothered to give him the pin codes or Apple ID so when she died suddenly, he couldn’t access any of their information she had on her devices. It was a mess that took months to sort things out.
You know, I never know what to do about this given the severity of sensitive information and such. But honestly, if one spouse is tech savvy and the other is not, there has to be a way to make sure the problem you describe doesn't happen. It's hard enough dealing with the passing of a loved one, but then to be locked out of everything when you're just trying to gather information and wind up an estate is a real gut-punch. I've been thinking about making a video on this topic. Thanks for your wisdom.
The *** HOW *** is missing. The video is just a ad. for apple. If you lose your Apple ID. GOD HELP YOU! I have waited up to 1 month for Apple to ALOW ME to change my ID. It depends on the mood they are in.
Thank you so much, Mr B - your voice is so easy to listen to. (I *like* the music and I'm hard of hearing.) Maybe at some point you could do a short video explaining the different Apple passwords, I always seem to put in the wrong one! Thank you.
Nice and easy explained. Thanks Now I have a question 4U if I may: Can you please explain how to change the AppleID from an existing Apple e-mail to other iCloud email addresses such as an Alias email address. Thanks
You can save recipes in Apple Notes. You can either type them in yourself, or use the camera to take a picture of the recipe card and add that to a note. A lot of people do this with recipes. Thanks so much for watching!
I'm sure I'm not the first, and won't be the last. I have lost/forgotten my apple ID, and cannot open my i-pad. I am totally lost, and would like to retrieve the use of my unit. Any suggestions Sir??
Our household shares one Apple ID for App Store purchases and downloads; for the rest, each of us has our own. It seems to work and allows us to share Apps and, presumably, music.
I’m so excited to find you. I’ve learned so much in the last few day’s re: IPad and IPhone. 👏☺️ Question. Hubby is notorious in misplacing his phone and pad. How do I add him to Find My and mine to his.
Thank this is my first time using and I don’t understand what is apple Id and I asked my kid 14 but not good enough understand because they are didn’t have time to explain now I understand thanks
How to control "pages" on the iPad shown as a series of dots - how to add/remove "pages" & how to move icons to specific "pages". Thanks for your easy to understand tutorials.
I never miss any of your videos, you explain very well I have one question? Me and my husband have different iPhone and iPad My pic and videos stored in 1 TB of one drive which I subscribed for How can my husband take advantage of this who is having different ID
I'm not sure how that would work if you're using One Drive by Microsoft. I do know that you can share photo libraries so that what you have on your iPhone will show up on his iPhone. I made a video on how to do this. Check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QAfHSPggGoc.html&ab_channel=RichBowlin
I have just watched this video twice and I guess I'm waiting for you to explain how to set up an Apple ID. You explain what it is used for but not how to get it started, or am I just dumb?
Dumb? Absolutely not. Observant? Yes! I only mention that Apple ID can be setup in the Settings app on the iPad. I should have explained that this setup process occurs when you turn on your iPad for the first time. The iPad walks you through the process without you really knowing what's going on. I'll try to do better in my next video. Thanks for watching!
Rich, Thank You so much for your Videos. I just happened to stumble upon you videos, and I love them. You're simple to the point direction is what we Seniors need. Thank you again, So much.
Could you comment in the future about setting up husband & wife Apple ID? I know you said to keep separate but how about sharing messages, emails, etc.? Thanks.
You can certainly give it a try. Just use one Apple ID for all your devices. If you're going to share email, then there's only a need for one email address. Same with messages. I think the rub comes when you want to do something separate and you find yourself hemmed in by one Apple ID. Let me know how it goes. It may be perfect for the way you and your husband use the iPad. Good luck and thanks so much for watching!
Hi. You should be able to go to Settings>Tap on your name at the very top left>then tap Password and Security>Change Password. From there, you'll enter you iPad security code and can change your password. Hope this helps!
Thanks i understand what you are saying and now i have learnt something new my son talked to me about this but nas since passed and i didnt quite understand him
My wife and I have our sep Apple IDs and each pay the monthly fee to Apple for extra storage for each IDs. Sounds like we could share, yet be separate for APPS & photos. Along the lines of what Hal S commented below have you or would you do a video on this subject. Just found you wealth of information & enjoying it. Thx.
I’ve. Lost. My password. I can still. Use. Passcode. For. Email. Etc. Ie Apple. Email. But if I want. Purchase. Anything. From. Apple. I can’t. And I live. In. Regional. Victoria and. Reset. Everything. The nearest. Apple. Shop is in. Melbourne. I have proof of who I am. Birth certificate etc. how. Do. I fix this. Yours. Sincerely Stephen RIMINGTON
As far as I know, this is not possible. The closest you can come to this is by setting up family sharing. But this only shares app purchases. You can share documents and folders with another person so I guess you could share everything from the old ID to the new ID. Not ideal. Wish I could help more.
Thank you for your simple and easy to understand tutorials. I have recently bought a new ipad, and l made the mistake of using same Apple id and I cloud . The two are synced. Now l wish to give the old ipad to my grandson, and have no idea how to separate them , as every time l do something on one , it is automatically synced. Would appreciate it very much if you could make a tutorial on how to have two separate I pads with new Apple I D. Thank you very much.
No problem. You can go into setting and reset the iPad and then hand it off. Then you can hand it off to your grandson and he can set it up with his Apple ID. Hope this helps!
