Heh.. I totally didn't unbox this like 6 months ago and then not make a review on it till now.. anyway, what are your thoughts on the 12 Mini? Would you prefer the small screen size, or go up to the larger 12?
Your the first person to mention the battery health in there review of the iPhone 12 mini. I have a iPhone 12 mini since release day and my battery health is at 90% and that’s after 8 months! I am a heavy user but I really enjoy the compact design and how easy it is to hold in your had. The phone charges fast and it’s not an inconvenience to me to have to charge it when it needs to be charged, my iPhone last me in a single charge about 5 hours of on screen charge but when it as new it was about 8 hours but that happens with age. I plan on replacing the battery when it hits 80% or so might be sooner but having apple care is worth it to have it replaced for free.
@@tomasztomasz2165 no I don’t I use official apple lightning cables and power bricks because I didn’t want to have my battery to degrade to fast and it did anyways. I thought about using MagSafe but I thought this is the first year that it’s been out give it sometime to see how it does with other iPhones and see if there’s any long term damage!
My 3month10days old 12 mini battery health degraded from 100% to 93% with no gaming / heavy ram loading apps.. just some RU-vid , chats and browser.. Average screen time 5-6hrs. A few overnight charge throughout this 3month, while day time charge I never stress the battery to 100% full charge, only to 80% and unplugged it.. (As most tech reviewer said) I love the mini's aesthetics, it's an well designed art! but the battery consumption freak me out everytime! It's like a mommy shook over her baby weird behavior again and again. I don't like this feeling but i love it's aesthetics, this is how the love hate relationship I have with 12 mini🙊😂 "Get 12/pro/promax if you freak out over battery like me" Big jump from iPhone 6 to iPhone 12 mini, I have big expectations for it.. it really does, except the battery!

I enjoy the phone it’s great I see a slight difference now after all this time but I know it’s because of the battery and how it’s performs day to day! I plan on getting a replacement battery for it just because it will need it soon! I feel somewhat better knowing that I’m not the only one that’s going through something like this! I’m glad I have apple care for this phone so the battery replacement will be free!
I brought the 12 Mini at launch and noticed after 6 months my battery health was declining rapidly. After 1 year it was 87%. This has never happened to me with an iPhone before. I’m actually convinced it was caused by a software issue in IOS 14 as once I upgraded to IOS 15 the battery health stopped going down.
This is the phone that I plan to buy in the next few days. The degrading of the battery over time would not be a big issue with me as I would be a light user.
@@InfoQuest221 hi. yup i bought it and the battery last fine i usually get home with 40 to 50% but i dont use it that much. The battery should last about 7h without using mobile data and only wifi. its been 5 months i did 101 battery cycles and still have 99% battery health. I really love this phone , the size of it is a trowback to when the phones werent the size of a tablet. the camera is great , its fast . I really love it and i hope they make future models this size because ill never want to switch back to a big phone 😂
Still probably going to get the 12 mini because its a cheaper option to the 13 mini. Battery isn’t an issue since I’m in my car, at home or at the office most of the day. It will always and I mean ALWAYS going to be plugged in
Hi, very interesting video! i would have a question.... I have an iphone 6s and I'm on a dilemma between 12 mini and 11, I'd REALLY prefer the size of the 12 mini but I'm so afraid of the battery (when maybe you don't have a chance to charge it during the day) compared to iphone 11. What you would suggest for a normal user? Would the iphone 12 mini have better battery life in 4g?
Hello, if you’re a heavy user definitely go with the 11! I was the same when I bought the 12 mini. The 13 mini has much better battery life though, so I’d recommend checking that out
Who needs a large screen? I don't understand people gaming or watching movies (or series) on a phone. Phone games suck, and even with a larger screen, a phone is always too small to properly watch a movie. You need at least a laptop screen. Otherwise it's a cheap experience. Or maybe some people just spend too much time on their phone.
“The iPhone 12 mini has bad battery life” everyone says. Then there’s me with my iPhone 6 with a battery lasting 4 hours max. So would battery life not be a concern for me when this is the norm for me?
Has anybody notice that their iPhone 12 mini gets warm when watching RU-vid videos. Is this normal. I just brought this phone two days ago and I’m worried that it maybe messed up
Fantastic review and oh that battery life should be fixed, it's terrible and I found it went really poor with iOS update 14.3 I think. So disappointing cos it's perfect otherwise!!!
The iPhone 12 mini and the 13 mini it’s the best phone ever and my favorite and it’s my first iPhone I was android for 7 years but apple it much better than android
If you turn off 5g and use 4glte ltr your phone will last 24 hours! I tried it yesterday! I could mot believe it😄! 4glte keeps switching to 5g since 5g is not available everywhere and connections drop constantly and that draind battery super heavy! With 5g i couldnt get even 10 hours! When i turned it off my last charge was at 4:56 pm at 100% and lasted me until 2pm the next day and still had 18%!! 5g is a killer!
I own the 12 mini and so want the 13 mini but the lack of 120 hz on the 13 mini closes the topic for me. There is no way I'm gonna go for another year without a high refresh rate display. I don't even understand who would buy phones anymore without high refresh rate displays. Once you see it and experience it, there is absolutely no going back.
@@ritvickchakranarayan9613 A bit above 4 hours. Its generally enough to last until the evening until about 9-10 pm with normal daily usage on working days. If I am on the phone a bit more than usual like on weekends it needs to be charged at around 5-6 pm. But it charges very quickly.

I switched to IOS about 3 years ago after using Android for many years. I cant go back to Android now. IOS is just too refined and smooth in comparison. Yes customization is lacking but I dont customize much. I just want a smooth and simple and powerful phone.
@@iamqwq Yes, I can go for 13, but it won't be worth it if it doesn't have 120 Hz, and I can get almost the same phone (iphone 12) but with the maximum capacity (256GB) and that too on a great discount.
Y'all keep talking about battery in the mini. What exactly did you expect? There is only so much space for a battery. Obviously, if that is what your concerns are, then don't buy the mini. Move up to the 12 or the 12 Pro...
The battery degrades faster because the smaller battery makes you recharge the phone more than the larger ones. It’s just what it is. This is why I avoided the mini. Apple should make a mini with a slower CPU, larger battery and lower price
I’m not liking the 2 bars for signal strength. I’m questioning the quality of the antenna. I sent my 12 mini back for that reason. I have another handset coming in the post. If I’m not getting the full 4 bars I’m sending that one back too and getting the 13 mini.
I have an old Verizon unlimited plan and no television…. I run the phone continually through the day and often go to sleep watching a movie… my battery health on xs max is 92 percent after about three years
Got this from Verizon free with the monthly credits. I'm not too concerned about the battery. I'm either at my work desk or my work truck and have chargers both places. I'm willing to deal with battery to get the small form factor. Like the Donald I have small hands so this size is perfect.

I just brought the iPhone mini two days ago. Have you noticed that your phone gets a little warm depending on what you doing? Especially watching RU-vid videos? Is that normal? I didn’t get a case yet. I had the iPhone XR but I always used a case on it so I never noticed if it got warm.
11 is better for heavy users. I’m using a mini, need to charge my phone during the afternoon. Not a problem with WFH setup. But might be one when I’m back to daily house-office-house routine
