@@alstonmiller212 iPads are pretty portable and it makes more sense to watch movies/videos on their larger screen anyway. The only use a big iPhone screen has is for video content. Apple won’t add split screen multitasking to make use of the larger display. The biggest iPhone functions the same as a mini like the guy said. iPad is better for productivity, entertainment, and they’re portable enough to keep around.

It’s really the same size as the iPhone 7 Plus. Just slightly longer. 160.8 vs 158.2 mm. The 12 pro Max is actually slightly more narrow than the 7 Plus.

I would love an iPhone the size of the mini but I feel I would miss the triple camera setup coming from the 11 pro max. As you mentioned, battery life is an issue with the mini and I’m not sure I can have battery anxiety about getting through a full day. Can’t wait for the full review!

My place of work has poor WiFi and poor phone reception so I have battery drain from that. I would put it on airplane mode but need my phone on in case I’m needed. Hence my need for a bigger battery. Charging on a long day isn’t an easy option as I’m likely on the move and having a battery pack on me isn’t practical.

Every large tech company out there has embargoes. It’s neutral or bad for consumers, but any game theorist will tell you that no one benefits from not using them, so the market will always use them, to drive up press coverage. Automotive manufacturers do it too, of course.

My point being that what Steve Jobs did when he got back to apple back in the days was to streamline the product line-up. Make a few things and make them good. @@dhruvkumar7802 kinda is. It's still 5.4 inch screen, unlike the 2020 SE at 4.7 inch. The only mini is the phone body, so less bezel. Not too long ago, 5.5 was the norm. I remembered my Oneplus 3T being a good sized screen, but bad sized body. The mini is the best of both worlds. Wish there were more S10e sized phones

Is there a presentation class at The Verge? Coz I noticed all of their RU-vid videos have the same presentation style, same intonations style, same style dad jokes, same style pun, same style on stressing / emphasising on certain words during narratives, its all nice but please be yourself. There's one thing I would really like to know. How will the wear and tear affect the iPhone 12 and 12 mini frame paint. If you remember the iPhone 5 was looking horrible with the paint rubbing off. Even though the next iPhones didn't have the same issue, I wonder if now getting back to matte aluminium will bring back the paint rub off issue. I'd love to see your review on the matter!

Exactly. That’s why when steve Job came back to Apple. 1997 First thing is to get rid of most of the products It added to the cost and confusing for clients It may seems like a good thing. But it’s not I love when Steve says “in order for something to exist. It has to do something better than all other products. “ something like that along the line. Tim now just follow Samsung and other companies. Yes Apple still makes money but at least with Steve Apple. They were making money but also had a vision. Not just beancounter

Great video! Just what I needed to make up my mind, and the dude was very easy to listen to. I'm glad I stumbled on this. I stopped visiting "The Verge" web site after they started turning off comments for many posts. Assumption is they are "bowing to their masters" preventing negative stuff surfacing for those that they serve. Sigh.

Not so on Android. The average display size on Android phones these days is like 6.4" and that's not even a joke...

@Iqbal Muhammad Dude that's the whole point. Android manufacturers always say it's "having options" but you literally have not a single damn option for such a small phone on Android. The smallest Android flagships are almost like twice the volume of the 12 mini.

Honestly, I don’t care how great that camera is, for me that size is just not worth the hassle of lugging it around, crowding my pocket, falling out of my hoody, not fitting in my cars cup holder, etc..... 6.1” is right in the sweet spot IMHO.
