Just a reminder that charging the phone as fast as possible is not necessarily an advantage. Battery can wear out more rapidly. Maybe that's why Apple chose 20W as a middle ground between charging time, charger efficiency and battery longevity.
Finally a channel that gives the regular iPhone 14 it's "well deserved" review, even though it's similar to the iPhone 13. The Pro versions always gets all the attention because of their "Dynamic Island' feature.
@@alexblankenship7385 exactly, every unboxing of the 14 I see the comments keep telling the creator they should’ve gotten the 13 or 14 pro. But I’m pretty sure, like yourself, they researched the specs and decided they preferred to get that over 13, however minimal. Some people want the latest. It’s also one more year of iOS support. I’m getting the 14 plus bc I’m coming from a 5 year old Samsung, I don’t like the weight of the pro maxes but I like display size, and the color options of the 14 base models. I’m also not an intense mobile gamer, I only play strategy and cozy games, so whatever chip they use means absolutely jack shit to me, I wouldn’t even notice it.
Wow, your short segment about the construction and repairability of the 14 compared to the 13 is crazy useful to consumers, and something I had not heard about prior to this video.
They’ve done it because most people get the apple care plus, and with all the iPhones prior the 14 if you crack the back glass, they just gave you a new phone, now they can just replace your back glass and save money on not giving you a whole new phone for just cracked back glass
I just got the 14 (upgrade from a 12), the biggest difference so far is the selfie auto focus, it’s really awesome a family photo or similar, quickly picks up the face of each person. In the test should have tried with two or more people, that’s where you see the benefits.

Yes, 14 is better than 13 because it has got some features from 13 Pro, so the best choice would be to simply buy 13 Pro and have all these features...
6 or 7 years of software updates… who cares, I will sell it after 3 years. I don’t care for SOS and crash detection also, but I understand that if you are frequently going to the wilderness, deserts, living in US, fear the rattlesnakes and scorpions, then these two features may be useful.
The only things you get from 13 pro is really the third lens just for zooming in and the pro-motion which is so good. Nothing else. But the 14 has better Internet, better selfie-cam, better memory I believe and weighs less is less bulky
What a great video. Thank you. Was going to buy an I phone 13 till i saw this. Got the 14, and am very happy I did. The improvement in the antenna is real and worth it alone.
Honestly, I would just get a 13 Pro over the regular 14. Same exact chips, yet you get a triple lens set up, ProMotion, a larger battery, stainless steel, and better cameras on the 13 Pro.
@@willphoenix2621 How does the 13 Pro have less ram when it has 6 just like the 14s? And, we haven’t even seen performance tests nor benchmarks for the 14 Plus yet, considering the phone isn’t out, so your claims can’t be substantiated yet.
A really good job on the comparison . The 14 does seem worth the extra $100, but getting 😢rid of the regular SIM is a definite downgrade for travelers, and those of us who are runners/ sports minded who have small a back up phone that we use and the ease of just swapping sims it’s no longer there.
To take @stephendlackey comment further....the rest of the world has 1 nano SIM with 2 eSIM combination while China/HK markets getting the 2 nano-SIM option.
@@jejunamja I understand completely. It would have been a deal breaker for me. I hope the market make it obvious that it’s not liked. That’s the only way companies like Apple learn.
Thank you guys for making this video. So many people have neglected to look in depth and just say that the 14 is not worth buying over the 13 because the processor is the same, etcetera. I don’t think in the research I’ve done has anyone else mentioned the improvement in network connectivity. Thanks for helping me choose to upgrade to the 14 plus from my 11.
@@NAIRxtc In my opinion, if you currently have an older iphone or none at all and are missing some features, the iphone 14 would be the better option unless you don't really care about the new stuff. if you decide to go for the 13, you should wait a couple months for the prices to go down. they both are great phones, so it really depends on the person.
@@NAIRxtc i’d say go for the 13 then. unless you think any of the features on the 14 are completely necessary and worth the extra $200, you won’t notice much of a difference. they are very similar devices and you wouldn’t be missing out on much besides smaller things. the 13 is an excellent phone and would be a perfect introduction to apple.
I agree with Max. Nobody is covering anything about this phone. I can't find one review covering the iphone 14. Nobody else is talking about repairability. I don't even know how people knew it was for sale.
Were you able to test a new 13 Pro’s speakers vs your new 14 Pro’s? The reason I ask is that debris in the speaker grilles massively affects audio clarity and some mids/bass, and typically needs to be gently cleaned out with an ESD-safe brush after build-up occurs. There’s often much more debris than there appears since it’s typically comprised of tiny particles from pockets and such, so I’ve seen some surprising quantities of gunk come out of what appeared to be clean phone grilles.
Got the 14 on a whim and picked it up at the store, later at night a semi truck rear ended my car the crash detection worked it’s magic and I was thoroughly impressed(this happened a couple of days ago)
I was debating between the 13 and 14 and this was a great comparison. The SOS feature seems great since I hike a lot and lose cell service often. Thanks.
Finally! A true full review of the iPhone 14 capabilities and its construction from an educated dude. The redesign of the chassis (a big deal to me), 6 Gig of ram, and the G5 antenna improvements (another big deal to me) were the reasons I got the 14. I don’t give a rip about the camera stuff. NOTE: This Iphone 14 is my first Iphone. Thanks for the thorough review.
What difference does it make that the phone body has not changed significantly? Or are you planning to use it without a case? I live in Europe and the SOS signal, 5g is not that important for me. I'm racking my brains about which phone to choose, iPhone 14 128 or iPhone 13 256, the price is the same. I know iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 are still updated the same way.

Great video, I own a regular Iphone 13 and I take a lot of photos and videos but i will wait for the 15 to see how much they increase their camera because I"m good with my 13.
thanks for all this!!! upgrading from the 6s (!!) and was agonizing between the 13 &14 and you definitely closed the sale on the 14 with this very well done very detailed post!!!
I think the iPhone 13 showed your gray hairs more accurately. I bought the IPhone 13 over the 14 because the cost difference was significant when you also add $100 for 256 GB memory. Nearly the same processor was the deal breaker. I’m upgrading from the iPhone 11. 5G on the 13 was good enough.
@@Mr.Deeds. you think Apple is crazy with the pricing in Europe…..? In India, iPhone 14 pro costs 1600 dollars whereas in US it’s just 1000 dollars……..! 600 dollars is a huge difference🥲
Still eager to see a comparison between 14 non-pro and discounted 13 pro, for those upgrading from an older model, because same RAM & CPU, but 13 pro has better features, but 14 non-pro has some enhancements. Thank you for covering details others miss. That is why yours are the only reviews I spend the time to watch
I upgrade from iPhone 8+ to 14 & it’s very nice! I’d prefer a 14 pro but since it’s work phone & they offered me out of pocket cost of $200 for 14 256GB vs $450 for 14 pro 128GB; the choice is clear for me…
I’m glad you brought all these improvements up to give the regular 14’s more credit then they’ve been getting. Especially when it comes to people being able to get a bigger screen phone for 200 dollars less. Staying under that 1000 dollar mark is a big deal for some people. Also for people who want the bigger screen and better battery life but also want a lighter phone with the color advantages in some cases with the regular 14’s. Also the autofocus came to previous generations with the IOS 16 software update. Of course it doesn’t get all the improvements of the new sensors but I did notice I got this functionality on my iPhone 12📱 🎉👍🏻
Hey Max great video! But I just wanted to point out one thing: 13:06 you mentioned the iPhone 13 shoots Cinematic mode in 1080p without HDR, but it actually does shoot Cinematic mode in HDR. I have the 13 (mini) and noticed that my Cinematic mode videos look exactly like my regular videos in terms of dynamic range, so like a true tech enthusiast/nerd I re-watched the September 2021 keynote where Apple released the 13. On the topic of Cinematic mode, the presenter said “Cinematic mode shoots in Dolby Vision HDR. This is enabled by your Apple custom sensor which creates each frame in Dolby Vision, live while you’re recording.” Just wanted to throw that out there!
Great video and nice review. So sick of hearing everyone just being lazy and saying the 14 is the same as the 13. Seems like a lot of significant differences.
Normally I don't geek out on this stuff, but I'm shopping for a new iPhone. Excellent review and presentation skills. Subscribed and now buying the 14. Thank you, great job!
I bought the iPhone 13 2 months ago. Now the iPhone 14’s price is the same as iPhone 13 before. I’m a bit disappointed now. But iPhone 13 is not that bad it just never lags and keeps opened apps good, battery is amazing. Also crash detection doesn’t work on my country.
Hi bro, just a quick message to say that was a really detailed and interesting video, it’s a completely different view to the other reviews, and the reason for me is you actually thought about what’s going on and investigated instead of just reading the specs on a sheet. For eg on paper the cameras are the same, but in reality Apple have improved the the functionality of the same hardware/software to take better photos.
Good job reviewing this. No brainer to get the Iphone 14 over 13 given all of these enhancements. (If you already have 13 then it is ok to wait for the next iteration). Lower repairability, extra Ram, Satellite add-on, all added up over $100 worth of difference.
Im curious why Apple didn't mention those "features" on the stage. Maybe the point was to make an iPhone 14 and 14 plus just boring version of 14 series
Regarding the cellular speed, at the end you compared the Iphone 13 and Iphone 14 Pro, did you know about it ? Good video as always, keep working like this 😊
Just got the iphone 14 plus upgraded from a iPhone 11 . I was good with only 2 camera lenses with the 11 I'll fine again with the 14 plus 2 cameras. Also love the battery life it's crazy I got 11hrs screen on time with my usage . If you have an iPhone 11 or older these iPhone 14 non pro versions are a great upgrade . If you have any pro / pro max version skip the vanilla 14 phones . My 11 was fine but I wanted to upgrade to a bigger screen and wanted 5g
Coming from the iPhone 13 Mini, it is a big upgrade. The battery performance alone is a massive upgrade. Let’s see what camera performance I get on this thing. I do use the Panasonic GH6 now for videos since I needed a professional look in the videos I record. It’s great for taking Instagram photos though when I don’t want to haul the GH6 around. Other than that, I use the iPhone just like any other iPhone I ever used. Same with a Samsung phone.
My 13 mini battery has taken a huge crap (phone says 88% so Apple wont replace it for free but its got almost 700 cycles smh) so I am very interested in either the regular 13 or 14. Appreciate your input!
Good points covered. But these are inconsistent comparisons - 13 to 14 Pro Max, 13 to 14, 13 Pro Max to 14 Pro Max. Maybe you tried to cover all the variants of each both generations, but you should’ve then actually done ALL the variants in ALL the comparisons, instead you’ve one category comparing 2 variants and another one comparing two other variants. Still, your points were truly on-point. 👍🏼
I agree and disagree. It seems like to justify the cost they HAD to improvve something, but is it worth it in a grand scheme of things? I think for an average user like myself, who does basic things on an iPhone, these minute perentage increases do not make up for a significant change. I held up to my iphone X up until now, because I wasn’t noticing that much of a change over the years and only now it started to lag. So getting 13 over 14 was a no brainer, as I don’t think Apple did a whole lot to it and I think it’s going to stay that way for a few years untill a new breakthrough like iPhone X. Just my 2 cents….
The regular 14 is now looking more tempting, even the 14 plus. Those little things such as the repairability, cameras, signal strength, and RAM do add up especially in the long run. Might get the 14, I’m coming from the 12.
I have a 14 and let me tell you its amazing! I upgraded from the 11 and there is a huge difference. Better camera, better display, cool new features, etc. Its honestly a great device and I say you should go for it!
@@Blinkpink_Editor yup, I think I am sold now on the 14. I’m considering the plus model but I might end up sticking with the regular model, simply because that 6.1 inch size is perfect for my hands. Edit: I wish Apple would have kept the mini iPhone. If they did a 14 mini that would have been my no-brainer choice as I am more than willing to buy and use the mini form factor.
@@elijahdelacruz3204 exactly! The mini was so good in my opinion and it was the most comfortable iPhone. I actually went into the apple store and checked out the models and the 14 plus is very big. One perk to having that phone is the big display. great for content! But the downside is since I have tiny hands it felt very uncomfortable. Thats why I went with 6.1 inches, not to big but not to small either.
The thing many want is a 14/14 Plus comparison with 13 Pro/13PM especially since Apple raised prices for the 14 line in Europe, so the 13 Pro seems a good deal.
We have only 3 reviewers on the web : 1. MKBHD for general insight 2. Mrwhosetheboss for camera and battery comparisons 3. Has bigger battery and even if u put 60 hertz on 13 pro it has smaller battery If u have seen battery tests u see 14 has like 30 minutes or more better battery than 13 pro
13 pro pros compared to 14: - 3rd lens 3X zoom -Pro-Motion 13 pro cons compared to 14: -Heavier (~30 grams) -no 5.3 Bluetooth -worse selfie camera -No crash detection, satellite SOS emergency, action mode -better 5G antenna on USA
Valuable Video, and yes, no reviewers mentioned that much information. Your videos are interesting. Planning to buy the 14 plus and your video convinced me to do so.
Are there differences with the 14 and 13? Yeah there is, and I do agree that some are noticeable in the long term. But I don’t think those differences warrant the extra $100 for the 14. The people who will notice the differences between the 13 and 14 are tech enthusiasts who would go for the Pro anyway.
So why are those people buying 13? Rather than XR for 200 refurbished? if they don't understand anything and where is lcd and where is oled and where is better camera:) maybe Samsung a13 is enough for them...why that apple for 700$? you people lack critical thinking
@@karolislatakas137 That is such a bs argument you're making. The differences between Xr and 13 are obviously more noticeable. Battery life, longer software support, a better looking, tougher design on the 13, camera quality and features like night mode, as well as Apple warranty, all give the 13 a justifiable price premium compared to older iPhones like the Xr or cheaper Androids. The features that differentiate between 13 and 14 are nowhere near as noticeable compared to Xr and 13, or even 12 and 13. Yeah sure. I'm the one who lacks critical thinking smh
@@Marngel you lacks because you make arguments why better to buy one year old phone for 700 than new for 800 😄 14 still better cameras and better internet speeds and more ram. If you want to waste 700, buy an iPhone 13 because it's not worth that much. When you buy 14, at least you get something, even though 120hz is missing. But you save that $100 and buy nike sneakers or dinner instead of a better phone a few years ahead.
@@karolislatakas137Help, I’m racking my brains about whether to buy iPhone 13 256 or iPhone 14 128, the price is the same. I live in Europe and therefore I don’t need an SOS signal, I don’t need a large 5g antenna either.
Thanks for the awesome videos 😊 Please separate the phones a litttle bit when doing thermal tests. They are practically touching and it drives me crazy. The phones need air cooling on all four sides and need enough space to not influence each other through the table 🙂
2:30 You can use the iPhone 14 cases on the iPhone 13 because it will still protect the cameras. You could still use the iPhone 13 cases on the 14 but you cameras would stick out part the protective ring.
Who tf buys a case for an iPhone 14 if they have a 13? In that case, I would just buy a 13 cover if I had a 13... If I bought an iPhone 14, I would still not buy a case for a 13... but just buy one for a 14. If I had a 13, I wouldn't even bother upgrading to a 14. Can't really see where you are going with that statement.
5:33 I'm kinda skeptical regarding this one saying the speakers got better over year on the pro. Because i think it may be affected due to dust accumulation over the year old usage. I'm no audiophile but i feel this one should be tested on brand new devices.
Apple could Improve the battery life and thus a lower impact on the environment if they one made an update to iOS 16 that enabled the 1 Herz refresh rate on the 14 pro and 10 Herz refresh rate on the 13 pro then looking at static images or pages. If they add promotion light to the iPhone 15 where it can go from say 1 to 60 Herz you will also get better battery life on the standard models. But adding promotion light may be just as costly as adding promotion to the phone without capping the refresh rate at 60 Herz.
Wow I watched several creators they was saying it’s basically the same phone but it is a difference danks for your video my dude u earned a sub and several likes on all your videos man
If you’re going to spend $800 you might as well spend the extra $200 for the Pro since it has many addition features this year compared to the basic iPhone 14.
Just upgraded from Iphone X to Iphone 14, its an amazing difference and well worth the money. I think apple upgrades are best stacked for 3-4 generations
Only you have done Speaker test.. I was eagerly waiting for Pro and Regular series Speaker Test.. And you have done that very well.. Thank you so much Sir.. Love from India..❤❤❤
so what do you think about the speakers? in my opinion..the speaker of iphone 14 sounds slightly better than the 13..But i have to test this by myself in the Apple Store

If the iPhone 14 was 909€ I would pick it … But no… it’s far too expensive so I gonna pick the 13 instead And the 13 gonna be a great overall upgrade compared to my SE 2020 even if it isn’t the new model
