You should compare this with the Pro Raw which comes out next week I believe, that will be a game changer in terms of getting that natural non sharpened look that I think most photographers want!

I got the exact same 7 plus and I’ve been avoiding upgrading till now for the same reason too LMAO😂 I really enjoyed this especially because you were giving very raw photos without a bunch of editing that a lot of ppl do so I really cant see differences but I could clearly see differences in yours :))

LOVE this video. Hardly anybody talks about this, but it's so true. Hopefully with the ProRaw you can make a lightroom mobile preset you slap on top of all the 12 pro and 12 pro max photos when you edit them in order to start with a more natural basis. I saw somebody say that they think you should try the pixel line and I'd have to agree. Something tells me you'd love the pixel 4xl camera (although it is a year old and not perfect) with the wide and telephoto and highlights and shadow sliders.

Like the review, very non scripted and nice examples. How do you actually feel about the amount of megapixels in combination with those lrnses? My gf got the 12 pro and I found the detail with the wide angle quite disappointing with the iphone’s post processing. There’s so much potential with these lenses although, to me not utilised to its full potential. I think that pro raw will give morre options for the pro though. So much info and image and yet...kind of a mush when zoomed in but thats just my cup of tea.

I still use the 8 Plus phone / camera, but I also own the xls max, and bought the new 12 pro max (blue) a da6 after it came out -oh, nice video, just subbed 😎

Chris, you're killing me. Get out of my head! Your intro could have been mine. I've been rocking the 7 Plus (same matte black) since it launched, and nothing since had moved me to upgrade. Fact is (as I'm sure is true for you), to this day I get better photos from it than friends and family with 11s and 11 Pros. It's a phenomenal camera in the hands of someone who knows how to take a picture. The 12 Pro Max was the first phone that inspired me to upgrade, and I too went Pacific Blue. I've taken dozens of photos now that I could not have imagined with the 7 Plus, or my 5D Mark IV to be honest (I'd need tripod or off camera flash). Hand hand, super low light, beautiful bokeh. For video? The DolbyVision HDR in 4K 60 FPS is simply off the chain. I'll rock this one for 4 years to be sure. BTW: For sure shoot ProRAW. It's the counterbalance to computational photography's worst instincts.

Your video is actually good, and its normally on par with Peter McKinnon's reviews But yours is more comprehensive and way more easier to understand And also, you're a photographer yourself which is cool because I wanna watch some videos about the 12 pro max from a photographers perspective, and it just so happens that im thinking of buying the iphone 8+, which probably has the same cameras as the 7+. But overall it's a good camera review video, I loved it and interested to watch more of this kinds of videos of yours.

I so agree with you, everyone is excited about the cameras of the new iPhones and I have always preferred the camera of the iPhone 7, iPhone 12 with unnatural colors, yellowish white balance and oversharpening.

Good thing there are photo editor apps. It's easier to remove saturation than to add it.

Good job Chris. I shot a bunch of photos throughout the day on the cliffs facing the ocean near Daly City/Pacifica and the Pro Max blew my 8+ out of the water in every lighting situation. (The Nikon z6II and 14-24mm lens are on my shopping list but now that can wait.)

I have read that 12 PM has a problem znog minimal focus distance compared to normal 12 due to larger sensor. Have you noticed such a problem?

I just went from an 8 plus to the 12 pro max and while I love the night mode I agree the colors and smart HDR look really weird to me. I much prefer the look I get out of my Nikon's, even the point and shoot W300 all weather camera looks better imo. Somethings off with the iPhone colors. It's like they were training the algorithms on Fstoppers photo's. A bit overboard on saturation in a weird way. I could say the same for a lot of landscape stuff these days, it's starting to look alien, I think it's time to bring it back to natural looks a bit.

Not defending Apple here, but in the last few years they seem to care a bit more about the older phones. So it’s quite possible that they fix it in 14.3 or 14.4. If you don’t “have to” upgrade for other reasons than that, maybe be a little patient and hopeful 😏 All the best!

Just turn HDR off in the camera settings and then you can toggle on/off for every single photo as you please

Coming from an iPhone SE (1st gen), I'm pretty sure my 12 pro max will last me another 5 years lol. Its an insane upgrade in every single way... Also first I felt like the 12 pro max was huge, then I used it for about 2 weeks and got used to its size. When I picked up my iPhone SE again I was shocked, it felt like a fuckin toy compared lol.

My Motorola edge plus has 108 MP camera , 5000mh battery , 90hz refresh rate , 6k video recording capability and many more 😊❤️

Why in the heck would you want a 108 MP photo from a sensor that small? It's such a waste of storage, data (if you upload to cloud), and processor resources. It's the worst kind of "back-of-the box" feature, as it's an actual detriment, not a benefit.

@@ktbeatty atleast I am getting better features than shit iPhone 12 phone no edge to edge display no charger no battery no full edge to edge display no innovation nothing is there in that robber phone 😂😂.. in this age they did nothing like innovation all iPhones still looks like the same shit they've designed thousand years ago .. they are ove expensive for no good reason ..large camera sensor allows more light to pass through it providing a high quality picture spending more than a lakh money you still that low size sensor 😂 nor even the phone fast charging support no fast refresh rate screen no big size battery it's a bloody crappy phone for the illiterates !
