This is my iPhone 12 review, from my perspective as a Samsung S21 user. For the past few years, I've been using Android phones and most recently got a Samsung Galaxy S21. Recently, I bought my sister the purple iPhone 12. Since I haven't used iPhones in years, I really wanted to test out and review the iPhone 12 to see if I'm missing out as an Android/Samsung S21 user 😝 I hope you enjoyed this video!

How do you manage to do ultrawide video? I have an iPhone 11 and in that launch event in 2019, they showed ultrawide video but I could never get it to work on my phone

Ella what are you talking about punkin!? You can add multiple pages to the home screen and take them away. I have both the Samsung galaxy note 9 and the LG Wing and it can do ut to these phones. TEAM ANDROID ALL DAY EVERYDAY. (NEW VIEWER HERE BY THE WAY)

Watching these kind of videos are making me realise I only really want an iPhone due to the "hype" around them and not due to the specs and features lmao. The only real reason why I'd get an iPhone is for a better camera on tiktok, Instagram, etc. due to those apps being made for iphones and I message when I only really use Instagram to text people.

Great review! By the way, I suggest not to use the fast charging feature if you want to keep the phone for a long time, as it really does speed up the degredation of the battery. From my experience, I also saw a noticable improvement in short term battery life by turning fast charging off. Also, adaptive refresh rate uses as much as twice the power of standard. By turning these settings off, I managed to get as much as 27 hours of battery life with 11 hours of screen on time from my S21 Snapdragon.

On my note 20 I had the super fast charge on and had no issues I got a day and a half. My s22 plus has the super fast on and adaptive and get almost two days

Another that is very useful for android users that iphone lacks is google lens. It's very helpful when you wanna search a product you see in the store on a whim and if you wanna translate something right away when you travel. It's part of the camera.

Some people argue which phone brand is better.. some say iPhone is better overall, and some people says Samsung is better.. for me both of them are the same.. They copy each other features. When it come to the camera quality I'm prefer Pixel, and when it come to Hardware software i choose Samsung, and for video quality and privacy i choose iPhone. Im a Android user. I know some the different between this 2 brand. But the only apple product i love is the iPad😁mannn apple pencil so awesome.. And some people laugh when they see others use android i just don't know why. Is it to broke to use android?? Yeah i know android phone value will drop down when they release the new one. But that is how they work. Both of this brand is great.. Just use what you prefer to use and dont complaint. (This comment just for people who argue which is better) btw great review.

Just to let you know on average per product you spend usually extra $100 per product rather new or use watches and charger wise $50 more when you do comparison

@@cheetopuffs2580 while I do hear you out and in fact agree for the most part, ultimately I feel it just comes down to choice / preference. Trust me I actively know how much more expensive apple products are lol. But it’s just that at the current point of my life I do prefer using an iPhone, and am alright with paying its “tax”. In all honesty one of the main reasons is just because instagram stories looks better on iOS that’s all lol

@@ilijalikan i spent 5 years using iphone 6s after upgrading to 12 pro i was disappointed in alot of fields you need to understand that device specs aren't every thing the ios system sucks when playing music or editing or sharing files to me a person who use his laptop more than a phone when i try to send files from or to my iphone it's annoying even the file management. to me android is more versatile and i can customize almost everything and i mean everything i enjoy android more than apple 😌

@@shadwen2263 I know the part about specs.. Apple only has a good spec of the chipset. I dont really know how android can give u a better exp. U used the older iphone and i dont know if u know it but ur 12 Pro destroys s21 by bench tests, also 12 pro only has more features than the 6s so i dont know what u are talking about. I would buy an android but i will never agree that it is better in any way except customization which is childish (for me) i like using simple things which have function. For example, i like ios widgets aloot more

I'm shocked that Apple charges extra to get a sim free phone, it's free in Europe. Also Samsung has a really good trade-in program where they take in other brands compared to Apple where they only accept Apple products.

@@nekogaming8461 Samsung Europe (Ireland) accepts trade in with other brands. Apple Europe (Ireland) only accepts Apple products for trade in. It might be different in different countries, I know for sure that Apple is more lenient in the U.S so that might be your reality 🤷‍♀️

@@TylerRayPittman longevity of support is very important, I went from an iPhone 6 to an X-ray last year and the 6 was still supported. The iPhone 6s is going to get iOS 15, in the long run, iPhones are way more worth the money.

I am slowly wanting to switch to one plus or Samsung because of what apple is doing I mean everyone should have right to repair after their warranty is over btw their excuse is that they want to protect their customers from getting hurt by repairing their phones themselves Are they serious do they really think someone would repair their phones without getting informed first And if you try to repair it yourself you get an error message if you repose your battery ,display ,Face ID ,earspeaker etc I love their software and design but sometimes they are just getting on my nerves

@@jamesbaughan4273 lmao let’s not LIE my sister’s iphone broke down and we did everything to fix it apple said u repaired elsewhere so we won’t fix it and when i went to stores that have apple certification they said “trade it” and get a new one fixing it is so expensive its the equivalent of a new one. I told her fuck apple fix your phone when we go t a vacation to Egypt, and guess what they fixed it for the equivalent of 3k egyptian pounds which is 200 dollars in 3 days. It was a fixable situation but apple sets up its users for failure they wanted her yp pay 899 for a new phone when her phone is fully functioning it has not a scratch that says alot about their care for the environment caring for the environment means reuse, reduce and recycle... it’s definitely not throwing old phones to make them generate more cash

Honestly this was a great review however I would love her to give us benefits of each side by side because at the end of the day specs are not all that matters you have to talk about ecosystem and functionality to different ppl. Don't waste money on iphone seriously. I own both Samsung S20 and Iphone 12 promax, both high end the most expensive phones. And i can say samsung is the best in every way than Iphone . Honest opinion

They are the same. iPhone has FaceTime and iCloud. Apple-only stuff. If you're in America, might as well go for an iPhone since they are dirt cheap there anyways. If from anywhere else, I'd skip the iPhone. In general, both basically work the same. Just try both out and see what you like.

It's okay people, I have an S10e which I absolutely love and would not change for any phone unless it stopped working for good. I'm one of those people who likes to watch iphone and samsung comparisons for the sake of it. I'm not at all planning to change my phone, and specially not to an iphone. They're way too expensive for what they do imo. So it's okay, I'm not getting an iphone, don't worry lol

@@SuccessReveal Yeah, but the app quality on iOS is miles above what android offers, and the most used apps are free both on android and on iOS. And you pay maybe 100 dollars more at the initial buy, but in 3 to 4 years the iPhone resells for way more. For example, my old S9 sells today , in an almost new condition for about 220 euros. While the iPhone competitor from that year in the same condition is about 400 euros. And I pay 2 euros a month for an extra 200 gb of cloud storage, which solves all of my problems. Both android and iOS have cons and pros, but for me, the iOS pros weigh more than what android has to offer, and I have been an Android user since Samsung Galaxy S2. Switched to iPhone 12 mini a month ago and never looking back now.

I'm using the Galaxy S20, and the screen refresh rate is SO underrated. It just makes scrolling on the web, on Twitter, Instagram and gaming in general look so much more smoother xx loved the video~

I'm using the one plus 8 pro with 120 hz and I can't really tell the difference between the IPhone 12 as far as web surfing goes but videos... It's like night and day.

As someone who used apple products my whole life and pretty recently (about one year ago) switched form an iphone to a samsung phone, I can say that I enjoy my Samsung a lot more. My iphones after a year of use would ALWAYS develop some issues and they are the kind of phones that are pretty hard to repair (in my country we don't have an official apple store, so repairing these phones cost even more than usual. Whereas my Samsung so far has never been repaired and I've never ran into any issues with this phone.

I have the s20 FE 4G because the place where we bought it didn't have the 5G variation, the 30x lens is very useful to take photos of the slides specially when you're at the back like me

120hz is so much smoother feeling for real. Its so satisfying to use one for the first time and it makes going back to a 60hz screen feel so sluggish and outdated

@@Progan666 Ironic. Apple implemented the 120hz for the first time in their 13 pro/pro max models, while also upgrading their batteries. Now they have one of, if not, the best battery life on any flagship out there. How times change😅 PS: I have the S20 FE 5G phone (amazing phone!), just to be clear I'm not fan fanboying over them.

One main benefit of an iPhone is how long it is supported through software updates. Makes it worth the slightly higher price (compared to other "flagship" phones like the S21) if you don't upgrade as often.

@Justin Absolutely. Even Samsung match the pixel now with three years main software updates and four years security updates. Android are definitely catching up and the pixel devices really are at great prices.

It doesn't sit right with me that not only you buy a phone that costs around 1000$ or more and its value drops in half in the next year or so, but also in 3 years you no longer receive any major updates. It's just does not happen with iphones. I still own and use a phone from 2017 that is perfectly supported (not even near the end of support) and still retains at least some value, and I am only thinking of getting a new one because of cameras and 120hz panel.

And I’m able to trade in for a decent amount even though it’s 4 years old because it’s still supported. A family member has an old s8 that they can’t do anything with because it stopped getting security updates in April. It came out the same year as the iPhone X.

As a previous Samsung user and a current iPhone user although I do admit Samsung phones do feel like a better deal in terms of hardware IPhone definitely feel a lot smoother and optimized it’s hard to explain you kinda have to experience it to understand, but it really depends on what your going to use the phone for, if you need to do some heavy duty stuff on your phone I would go with Samsung but if your just using a daily driver for productivity, work, ect, I would go with iPhone but that’s just my opinion

The profit margin on an iphone 12 is 68%. Thats absolutely ridiculous, that means they're just making the iphone 12 overpriced. While s21's profit margin is around 41% still ridiculous but apple takes the crown in leeching off people. This is not business this is just companies banking on the fact that people don't know what parts and pieces need to be made in a phone and selling it like it cost a shit ton to make a phone, which in reality costs really cheap to make compared to retail price. So yes they need to make profit. But some companies are just leeches, like iphone.

I'm debating switching to iPhone in a couple months. I never really cared for the customizing on Android, as I like a minimalist and simpler look. The biggest game-changer for me is app compatibility. For example, the apps I use a lot have had dark mode versions on Apple for months but not on Android. Also, the way the camera works better in apps, etc. I'm probably going to make the switch.

I loved your video, regarding what you say at the end, I have a very good solution that I use. Samsung Dex. Now you can use it wirelessly, it allows you to copy absolutely everything between the cell phone and the Macbook, even using your cell phone in full screen on the Macbook, I think the best thing for creators is just to have those devices that you have, Macbook and iPad, and a Samsung as a cell phone. I think I will make a similar video telling my experience 🙈

You can use the screen time menu to disable those notifications- just go to screen time notifications and then click shortcuts and then disable notifications. Note that everytime the phone restarts or shuts down you need to reenable it again.

I am not a widget fan and I don't like my phone to have lots of widgets 🤯.. I prefer basic things like screen time and clock in samsung widgets .. and also the size of the app icons in iPhone are huge even in samsung its huge but after changing the icons it will look pretty but overall I will go for samsung since its more functional and nice to use😌

As an iPhone 12 user also coming from the android side , I would definitely say iPhones are more expensive , and even once you own your iPhone a lot more of the apps in the App Store are subscription based , at the same time I’d say probably Apple does have on balance slightly more professional type apps available , but IMO it’s not a huge leap. Compared to my note 9 w hich is the hamburger with the lot , even the iPhone 12 Pro max seems very Spartan off features. The iPhone does have some redeeming features though. The lack of headphone Jack , SD card and usual expected items in the box that are not supplied by both companies is a pretty poor show in my book.

There is no denying that both phones are great. Personally I would go for the S21, for lots of customization, smoothness, stability, reliability, flexibility, security and privacy, compatibility etc. Some of which I'm sure are on the Iphones too. Resale value wise, Samsung phones in recent years has higher resale value than before. However, I don't resale my electronic devices such as phones and laptop due to privacy concern.

For me I have the iPhone because I really like the OS of iPhone. iOS is so optimized for a good workflow without having to adjust things yourself. The iPhone's hardware is pretty trash compared to Android phones. But I have to say that every review is biased, because if you are a iPhone daily, you'll prefer iPhone and if you are a Android daily, you'll prefer an android phone.

Apple is weak when it comes to user experience and accessibility but its stable and performs best on apps. I would definitly go back to android if it becomes as efficient as iOS.

I'd really want the S21 but that thing is actually more expensive than the iPhone in my country. Also I really like the longevity that iPhones have with their updates, you can basically keep the phone for years and it will still be up to date, Samsung and most other Android manufacturers only guarantee maybe 3 years of updates max and that's a little low for me :/

Btw, this may sound basic or dumb but for portrait mode to work good on galaxy you gotta take your time and make sure you click on the subject, this is my favorite feature, also you can change background blur after taking the photo to make it look more natural.

I think the fact that you have to use Lightning cables to charge your iPhone is a MAJOR downside. From my experience, chances for a USB-C cable to be around, are higher than chances of there being a lightning cable around.

The iPhone 12 didn’t do good on night mode cuz it doesn’t have the LiDar sensor you’d find on the pro models. That sensor makes a huge difference

You can hide apps on Samsung phones by going to Home Screen > Hide Apps However if you'd like to hide entire screens you'll have to find a launcher that supports it.. I'm sure there's plenty out there tho. Edit: This may vary from phone to phone as different manufacturers have different modified versions of Android.

As someone who switched from an android to iPhone, I think one of the major things about iPhone is its longevity. While I don't exactly know the durability of the phone itself, iPhones tend to have a VERY long software support. My mom has an iPhone 6s plus which was released in September of 2015 and she was able to upgrade to ios 14, the latest ios software in 2021. It still works really well 6 years later and I think that's quite impressive.

That's a very valid point. Some people don't want or need to buy a new phone often and that's an awesome plus. I have never been interested in Apple phones but that is a huge plus for sure and I can see how that would make people really loyal to the brand. Kinda cool even if you have bought a new iPhone to be able to use your older phone with the updates as a backup or like a small tablet or give it to a sibling/family member.

I have Android and Apple most of the time. Agree that you can customize Android so much easier. Apple is getting there. But I have never experienced all the hype on refresh rate. I use my Note 20 on the highest screen quality because that's it's greatest asset. Nothing is close. Way better than my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Apple is only 1 line per year, not 20 different brands and models on Android. So the experience they give is relative to their entire ecosystem. So changes on the iPhone will affect how the other parts of the ecosystem will interact...which is probably why the updates and customizability are limited. Agree, both Samsung and Apple are great. Take away all the hype that all the YT gurus state and it's just about which operating system you like. To me, doesn't matter much. I like my Note and may keep it for a few years rather than getting a new iPhone this year

Have you added the the near twice the software support period attached to the iPhone? Not saying the phones are over priced but I used to be a Samsung buyer and left because of being frustrated by paying a long of money (true high cost of ownership over time) and having no updates a couple of years later. I understand some novelties like seeing your text while scrolling, but I’m also aware that you’re not properly reading while you’re scrolling, you scroll and stop in order to read. It is annoying that Apple limits the storage space, and the customisation but speaking from experience, you reach a point where you want a device that is supported for a long time so that you don’t even have to think about it. So at the end of the day, you got to buy a computer that works for your workflow and cost of ownership.
