I upgraded from a normal iPhone 11 to the 13 Pro. It’s an absolute must. I could never go back to the standard cameras, 60hz display, or the old 11 speakers. Definitely worth the upgrade imo.
For me, the most significant benefit is actually the battery life. All the other features are nice, but for me a better battery has a very practical benefit.
I upgraded from X to 13 Pro Max and it's huge difference. Mainly the battery. 2 days no problem. Absolutely love it. Other differences like better display, camera etc is just sweet bonus.
I normally agree about trading in to Apple. This year seemed “fair” for trade in. They gave me $790 for my 12 Pro Max 128gb. Seemed better than years past.
@@chrish4801 it was a convenience thing. I checked swappa beforehand. At this point I wouldn’t be able to get more than that. The current cheapest is 875. Between the 3% Fee, swappa fee, and shipping. It would work out close to the same. I could have gone the Facebook route, but that’s also an added layer of inconvenience. I may not have maximized the value, but I wasn’t too far off. Good to hear you made out well though.
I’m upping from an XR. What’s most important to me are the camera lenses. I was a professional photographer and due to neurological issues have lost the ability to carry a gadget bag full of lenses etc. So, the 13 Pro Max looks like a great substitute for my gear, especially when I factor in the trade-in from Apple and the price I can get for my present photographic equipment. Am I going to miss my gear? Absolutely. But given the fact that I no longer can use it, I don’t have much choice.
I agree, the screen is more clear and brighter and also yes, I noticed the speakers are definitely clearer and louder. The smaller notch isn’t very noticeable but still welcome.
I upgraded from a 7 plus to a 13 pro, and I’m in absolute love. The battery life alone is insane. The screen is beautiful and the camera lets an idiot like me take pictures of the night sky easily. It’s awesome
My step dad switched to iPhone for the first time and he went for the 13 pro max. I got to try out the 120hz display I could immediately tell a difference
I have the iPhone 11 Pro, I’m waiting for the iPhone 15 Pro, the longer l wait, the better iPhone will become, the better one l can afford. So I’m definitely not in a hurry. I’m sitting in the background while other people go out waste their money.
I have upgraded to the iPhone 13 pro from the 12 pro, yes the upgrades are great but I still think the 12 pro is pretty powerful device and I don’t think an upgrade will be the right decision for everyone.
I doubt the new phones are gonna be that big off an upgrade. At the end of the day its just an iphone. What else can you change? Better battery and better screen and thats about it really. Think we might have to wait like 10 years for something big for the iphone to change and have a huge upgrade
Honestly the best youtuber i have ever seen when it comes to a smooth transition into the sponsor. This is the first video where i didn’t skip the sponsor clip cuz you didn’t say “and today’s sponsor is” you just began talking about it which gives interest in it
I have an 11 pro and I still don’t think any of the newer phones are worth the upgrade. I’m not a photographer or videographer so I think I’m good lol.
iPhone 11 Pro here also. Unless the 14 has some crazy upgrades next year I can see me keeping it for a couple more years. Just don’t seem to be many improvements anymore.
I also have the 11 Pro. It is still a fantastic phone at this point. Battery life is better than the 12 Pro, and speed doesn't seem to ever be an issue. I'm also sticking with my 11 Pro because I prefer the rounded edges.
I actually agree with you on this. I got the 13 pro coming from a 10. I can barely feel the difference other then the camera and the battery life tbh. I will say the cameras are fantastic and you will definitely notice a big difference there and I am not even that big of a camera person. I don’t notice the 120hz much but it’s there. I will say the wifi range is actually worse on 13 pro. Not sure if I just got a lemon but it’s definitely 10-15% lower useable range and I my internet cellular signal seems slightly worse as far as usable range when I am at low cellular signal area( 1bar Verizon) I would definitely hold out for 14 if you don’t care about cameras.
I know. I just hope for it or rather try to suggest that they should make such a phone. I have the SE for 5 years now, I never upgraded because I just love that size. But I want the 120Hz display, and a touch id as well,->> iPhone 14 pro mini :D
Still happy with your choice? I’m in the same boat,12 pro looking at the 13 pro max. Been on the fence about the size and weight of the device but the screen and battery gains make it really tempting.
Yeah I'm encountering some of those. Had tap to wake randomly stop working, and native apps that seem to take for ever to pull new data for some reason. Hardware seems solid, but software is a bit janky at the moment.
I upgraded from 12 pro max to 13 pro max, primarily due to the high retail price. And boy am I loving the 13 pro max. The battery life and ProMotion are just awesome.
Thanks for this video! So helpful. I’ve got an iPhone 7 - was thinking of saving some $ and getting the 12 pro but I’m gonna splurge and get the 13. Life is too short…..
i acutally just bought a 12 pro renewed for 650 in pacific blue barely any scratches or anything. it was a steal honestly. whoever used it kept it in great condition and the battery health is at 100%
Man the 13, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max all look pretty great. Mini is too tiny for me. I’d be happy with any of them though I’m sure. Still rocking the 11 and it finally starting to show some age.
The battery being way better is underrated Someone tested it along with iPhones from 11 . And he’s been testing a lot of phones . He said iPhone 13 pro max had the best battery BY A MILE. Including Samsung s21 . No more Apple battery jokes
Lol so now you’re gonna say it should be on 120hz . He didn’t put it on low power mode . And why would he try to up Apple . He tested the S21 and 13 pro max lasted 1.5 hours longer . The 13 pro max lasted 2.5 hours longer than the 12 from last year . Even if it was at 60hz that’s still damn impressive . Im jumping from the XS max and I can definitely tell the battery is waaaaay better .
I’m not saying it was on 60hz btw . As far as I know it’s at 120hz . I’m just saying even if it was on 60, that’s damn impressive . The pro motion adaptive technology is already better than Samsungs . It can go as low as 10hz while Samsung stays around 40 at lowest as far as I’ve seen people say . And it stays at high HZ even when you’re just reading . The test was done on nonstop movement with games and videos btw so that’s without pro motion helping it in that situation . Imagine if it did either every day use . iPhone is clearly ahead right now .
There's another benefit to the larger camera bump on the 13 pro over the 12 pro, which is that it's easier to keep your finger out of the photos because there is a bigger bump in the back that your finger can rest against. I took so many pictures on the 12 pro max with a blurry finger visible in the bottom right corner :(.
Coming from the XR to a 13 pro max because Verizon is surprisingly offering me $800 to trade in. I’d be stupid not to right? I mean, the XR retailed for 750 at launch 😂
It’s personal preference of course but the new screen is a HUGE difference and the cameras are just wow. The screen differences are so hard to capture on camera but in person it is really a huge difference
I went from a XR to a 13 Pro and I’m really liking it. The camera is amazing although I do own several high end cameras it’s nice ti have one in my pocket.
Went from a 12 Pro Max to 13 Pro. Love the smaller size and the camera's are insane. Buttery smooth screen and insane battery life. Totally worth it for me
@Sarath S Nair got 11 hours of screen on time yesterday. i dont game, but the battery is amazing and is definitely an all day battery. for example; 10 hours ago i charged my phone to 82% and im at 65% rn. havent used it a ton obviously but seriously its so good. I have 0 regrets about downsizing this year. So comfortable and easy to use
@@artfartzy i personally have not experienced that; but if your focus is photography, get a camera. a smart phone isnt close to an actual DSLR. Lens flares this year are virtually gone compared to the 12
whats your trade in value? cuz i thought about it too but the 13 isnt convincing enough. It barely looks different and the only advantage id really want is the 120hz
Was scouring the comment section for a comment like yours Aiman! I too have my XS Max and it too has everything one wants...AND I'm filmmaking with it.
My first 120Hz experience was when I got the Razer Blade 3070 Laptop… I honestly thought it’s only meant for gaming, but now I can’t work on 60FPS anymore. The cursor, scrolling etc is like butter
😎 I upgraded from the iPhone 12 Pro to the 13 Pro and my wife upgraded from the 11 Pro. We LOVE these phones and they are well worth the upgrade for sure. The 13 Pro is THE BEST iPhone Apple has ever made IMO. If the 13 Mini would have ProMotion and an even better battery life, I’d say that about it, but since it doesn’t, the 13 Pro is THE ONE. 📲
For someone who has an iPhone 12 Pro Max, I’m considering upgrading(or maybe even downgrading in this case, size wise) to an iPhone 13 Pro, mainly for the weight alone and also better screen. Has anyone here been in this situation? I don’t leave the house a lot, since I’m working remote, but when I do go out and I’m wearing gym shorts or something similar, sometimes I feel like there’s so much weight it’s weighing down my shorts and makes them slip down. Obviously that isn’t a problem when I wear regular shorts, etc, but when I’m at home it’s definitely noticeable and I find myself even putting my phone in the top part of a buggy when at Target, etc. I do love the huge screen and battery life, and battery life is important to me, but I’m also getting an iPad Pro in about a month so I don’t know if that will help with browsing when I want to. Currently, I use my phone for everything from web browsing to social media, photos, and looking stuff up and media consumption. I do use it a lot on the go and don’t know if I’d miss the battery life in the long term, but If anyone has any tips or has been in this situation, I’d definitely appreciate it!
Well I upgraded from an iPhone 11 to the 13 pro max and I can say I did feel a lot more comfortable handling the 11, but the battery life and beautiful screen more than make up for it. I watch a lot of content on my phone since I don’t have a computer. I’d recommend the pro max if you are going to be watching videos, if not then get the pro and stay comfy.
Actually I have the 12 pro max and I want to get the 13 pro because of the same thing , I have small hands and it’s just really uncomfortable to hold the 12 max can u tell me how u like the 13 pro ??
@@cameronwhite9742 the 13 pro is very good in size isn’t heavy at all upgrades features on the camera is good as well but to me not that much difference have you considered getting a belt clip my husband brought two for his iPhone 13pro max cause he complained about the same thing too heavy
Have you consider getting a belt clip my husband has the same issue with his 13pro max says it too heavy he brought two belts clips and wears it on his side
My mom is rocking a 7+ since it’s release with 32 gb of storage. I ordered a new 13 PM with the baseline 128 GB of storage. It’ll be her Christmas present and I can’t wait to see her reaction
I love my 13pm! I upgraded from the 12 pm and it’s so much better! The battery life is phenomenal on my 13 pm, it was awful on my 12 pm. The 120hz is a breath of fresh air man it’s so smooth! Then the camera is definitely an upgrade, i got some crazy shots with macro that blew my mind. Even down to the color and the storage capacity, i got graphite which i love because it’ll go with any case and outfit and the 256 I’ll never have to worry about running out of storage! I love this phone so much!
Honestly, Apple did such a good job with the 12 Pro that I just don’t see a reason to upgrade… when I’m working, I murder my phone with usage and my 12 Pro generally gets me into the evening before needing a charge which is very respectable. The camera is amazing and the A14 is seriously a beast. The phone just does not stutter. I’ll be hanging onto my 12 Pro til the 14 drops. Which is weird for me to say because I’m a tech guy. But I just don’t see it… It’s also interesting that it seems like people are really trying to hype the 13’s this year… kind of makes me curious if Apple is reaching out to people for hype videos… Honestly, I’m good with my 12 Pro. It’s a really good phone! And now I’m VERY interested to see what they do with the 14!
I have been thinking the same thing about the amount of hype of the 13 over the 12. Coming from a 10 or less, sure, but cmon, the average person isn’t going to notice the difference that much between the last two models. But if tech folks don’t come up with content, they don’t make money, so suddenly the differences are “definitely worth upgrading from last year. I’ve upgraded Pro Max the past several years, but this year I managed to resist Apple’s crack marketing. I’ll be ready next year.
Hey Shawn G, do you experience the battery drain problem with your 12 Pro? I'm currently looking to save some $$ by getting the 12 Pro, but I'm a bit worried this might affect me.
@@tonylancer7367 I don’t have abnormal battery drain at all. Which is good, because I work in transportation and my phone gets torturously used M-F at work lol. Honestly, the battery life is great for me. I use trucking nav all day at work. I usually throw it on the charger between 20-30% if I have like a 30 minutes drive and I’m easily good to go for the rest of the day/night if needed
@@shawng4886 That's impressive. All these YT videos made me believe that the 12 Pro is a bad phone and I should get the 13. It's so easy to get chewed up and yet in reality, the 12 Pro is a spectacular phone as you mention. 😅 I don't think you have any regrets having the 12 Pro, no?
Havent had an iPhone since the 3G, but after my Galaxy S10 started glitching after less than 2 years I'm getting a 13 Pro and I'm super excited. Have been watching reviews on a daily basis. Hope it'll last me a good while!
Thanks, Great Review! It’s gonna be a HUGE Change for me with a 6Plus lol My 13Pro should be in next week and I’m stoked! Hoping it’s not too fancy to figure out 😂
Coming from the 6S to 12 Pro cause I’m cheap and actually dislike the 120hz display. Use Swappa rather than eBay. Trust me, the return policies are fantastic. Edit: I also dislike the new notch shape
I told myself that I was t going to upgrade my iPhone 12 Pro to the 13 pro and just wait for the 14 but I was too tempted by the battery life and 120hz display😅😅 I was more excited getting the 13 pro than when I got the 12 pro😂
@@jenniferstewart1330 it’s not a gimmick if it genuinely makes a difference. 5g makes a difference too. It helps sell the phone sure but I’d say it’s worth it. I have used both 120hz and 60hz and I genuinely notice a huge difference
@@connorswartz1862 a lot of the world doesn’t have 5g- so it’s not something that’s needed on a smart device- and I don’t need the 120hz screen- when I used Samsung I didn’t even use it, I shut that function off.
The only reason I upgraded from 12 pro to 13 pro was battery. 12 Pro battery life was really bad compared to the 13 so far. Otherwise I would have just kept the 12 pro.
People keep talking about gaming, but what about a 10 minute video edited in LumaFusion with 2:1, color grading, 2 clips of background music, and multiple B-roll clips… and maybe some “lock and load” stabilization? Will it lock or shutdown? Will writing and downloading to the iPhone’s photo take forever. And how long to upload to private in RU-vid?
Just received my iPhone 13 Pro a few days ago. I've come from a S21 Ultra, to be honest the reason I decided to make the change was due to the size of the phone. Before owning the S21 Ultra I always owned smaller phones so I am glad to have gone back to something that fits nicely in my pocket. I know some will disagree but I was not very keen on the camera/photo qualities of the S21 Ultra. Although the zoom is amazing, I felt most photos had way too much sharpening. Try setting up your TV up to 100% sharpness and you will see a lot of noise in edges, this is exactly the same with the S21 Ultra. The 108mp mode fixes this but each image just takes up too much room. I am happy to report that photos actually look more natural and balanced on the iPhone. That over the top sharpness is gone and I do not miss it. I am not sure if its just an exynos thing as I live in the UK. Battery life and the 120hz have been nice although I already experienced those before thanks to the S21 Ultra. All in all, I think the iPhone 13 Pro is the sweetspot for me. I am not going back to phablets!
Beauty of iPhone is it’s just small changes year on year so I bought a 12 pro when it came out and am still enjoying it. Will keep if for a few years before changing to what ever is latest at the time.
XR to 12 pro here. HUGE upgrade. Forgot the XR basically has an iPhone 7/8 screen😂 OLED is nice! I’ll probably go for the 14 this year, I got the 12 pro for 699 w Verizon so I can quickly pay it off, get a 14 pro & sell my 12 pro or trade it in
I am going to wait for the 14 Pro Max. I hope to see AOD, no notch, a better modem, a bit more zoom in the camera and slightly more ‘iPhone 4s’ style and build.
I upgraded from an 11pro max. Phone still hasn’t even shipped, but I’m excited to receive it when it does finally arrive. I got the 13 pro max with 256 in Sierra blue, I got the same for my wife only with 1tb.
I went from XS to 13 pro Max and i am so happy i upgraded. I love this phone, especially the battery life. I end the day at 70%! My XS was always dead in the afternoon
120hz alone is worth upgrading. It is such a big deal in phones. People don't even realize how big a deal it is. 60hz looks like a fucking slide show in comparison. Okay, okay, I have a bone to pick. Apple is two years late to the 120hz. It had nothing to do with perfecting it. The S20 perfected it, I promise you. Apple just has a layout of plans for their phones. Saying they "waited" to perfect it is absolutely BS. This is coming from me, who just bought a 13 pro max BECAUSE of the 120hz.
i think it’s a bigger deal than most people think, but i’ve also been gaming on a high refresh rate monitor so maybe i’ve gotten used to noticing the distance. i had actually planned on getting a standard iphone 13 but apple FINALLY adding 120 hz refresh rate + a bigger battery is what swayed me to upgrade to the pro models. the great camera is ofc always nice
@@spicy4559 I think when people who don't know what it is, see it back to back with 60hz, will agree it's a massive deal..especially on something you interact with.
I have the 11 pro Max but im upgrading to the 13 pro Max in fact i should be getting it Next week i got the half of terabyte model 512GB .. can't wait brandon
Someone should put the 12 pro and the 13 pro and others in an oven at full brightness and slowly crank up the heat to test thermals… would love to see this as I’m in Texas and it’s 🥵
Hey Brandon what are you thinking about the lense flares in the camera that are still here on the iphone 13, just like it was on the 12 and 11? I don't think I ever heard you talk about it. A shame they didnt find a way to fix it for the 13. Now hoping it will be better on next years 14 with a new design.
The battery life is incredible on the 13 pro max. I don’t recommend upgrading from a 12 pro at all Most users don’t really need 120hz, battery life If you have an 11 pro maybe. XS or older probably
I have the iPhone 12 pro in Pacific blue the 256 GB and I am upgrading to the 13 promax 256 GB in Silver I haven’t had a silver phone in like seven years. I’m excited. Never had a promax before this will be my first one.
This is probably the biggest jump in battery life, graphics performance and camera quality that we have seen in any new generation of iPhones. At the same time it’s probably the biggest physical changes of all updates that didn’t change the entire design language. Yet people keep calling this a “minor update”. Seriously, what were they expecting?
how is the minimal brightness compared between the 12, 13, and say 8? I use my phone a lot in almost total darkness and need the brightness to be the lowest possible. thanks!
I just bought a used iphone 12 pro, 256gb, with applecare+ for $700. That would easily cost $1,300 for the newest model. I rather save the $600 personally...
@@Mnassify Yes I’m going to wait for apple to improve their technology before parting with my Nokia 3310, I want to really feel like I’m getting an upgrade and not just like for like.
