So I just recently upgraded from an iPhone 7 to the 14 pro in the deep purple color and honestly I hade absolutely no issues transferring data without a SIM card. It was pretty easy and straightforward but overall great video.
Love my 14 Pro, gonna hold onto it for a few years and see what Apple comes out with by then. Thank you Nick for the 1 year review, awesome content as always.
Have the 14 pro and it's a beast of a phone. Does everything I want it to do and more. Well worth the money in my opinion! Thank you for your thoughts!
What I really appreciate is that we are able to buy full "Pro" package in smaller "box". I was using s22 Ultra and S23 Ultra and got tired of this huge "tablet". Decided to try 14 Pro and this phone really surprised me in positive way. As a whole package, it is amazing device. Of course newer android models taking in some cases better pictures, but I think in indoor photography and shutter speed, iphone is still a KING. I could not take sharp photos of my children playing with both Ultras, here no problem. What I really miss is support of better audio bluetooth codecs. But I hope with release of new airpods max and iphone 15 this will be fixed :)
@@Chadowgon5 cause it was missing many features of Ultra, macro photography for instance, and in general it felt "cheap" in the hand. My subjective opinion..
Coming from an XR, I thought getting a 15 pro would be more than enough battery improvement. After reading all the reviews for the battery life of the 14 pro, I’m scared I’ll have to get and deal with the giant 15 pro max……
@@lime-animates-2763 I went safe and got the 15 pro max and I love the battery life. Never need to worry about charging after long full days. Ive gotten used to the size too
My last phone was the Google Pixel 6 Pro, I traded it in at the Apple Store for iPhone 14 Pro Max 4 months ago. Before I got my iPhone 14 Pro Max in April, I had Android phones for almost 6 years. During that time, I had the Samsung Galaxy S8+ to the Google Pixel 6 Pro. There are some things I miss having an Android phone. On Samsung devices, you can change your font, etc. I wish that Apple would allow more customization. I don't like it that Apple doesn't let us have control/customize the App Library.
I switched from a redmi note 9 pro to an iPhone 14 (it was an emergency but old phone broke and I needed one ASAP for work) and if I could go back to my old phone I would. I hate how iPhone limit their customization and I have a whole list of things I don't like.
@@MemoryOfDeath001 totally agree. But once we get the hang of iphone, very difficult to switch back to using Android as main phone. I have iphone 13. But still I have my 7 years old motorola phone as secondary phone.
I suggest - Don't think to sell your new iphone in a hurry due to limitations that you feel right now. I did this mistake and sold for very lesser price on cashify.
Just ordered the 14 Pro max, and Im gonna swap my Galaxy S20 out for it. I was an android fanboy since 2014 when I got the Galaxy S4 but I wanted to change it up a little,
I live in Mexico and here the 14 pro came with a sim card slot and was perfect for me. I traded the 13 for the gold 14 pro and i love it so far. It's beautiful. No heat problems at all. All on point.
i recently bought an iphone 14 pro but i didnt know the 15 was coming out you think i should trade it in for the 15 pro? i feel like the build, quality and design is better on the 14 pro but idk thats just me but i also want the new chip and the small camera improvements its hard to decide!
We are all different 😊 , to this day I still prefer the notch on my 12 pro max to the pill/island on my 14 pro max , I find the pill more distracting….. that’s just me though 😅. I wouldn’t be offended by a hole punch camera and under screen finger print sensor , at the same time i quiet like Face ID , so yeah , much of a muchness in the end .
I have a 13 Max. I am looking at the 14 pro or 15 pro. The reason I want upgrade due to I choose the smallest storage and the max version is becoming too big for me. I can trade my 13 in for a 14 pro for those reason for about $470. Should I do this or wait for the 15?
Great video. With the 15 coming soon, should i wait for the 14 Pro to drop price? Or should i just get it now? I went to the Apple store today, they told me I should get the 14 Pro now, because once the 15 is released, Apple will discontinue the 14 Pro. Is this true?
My advice would be that: if you care about battery life and bigger screen go for 15 plus, if not go for 14 pro, 14 pro is better in all other aspects 14 pro has 3 cameras, 120hz, and always on display 15 plus has bigger battery, bigger screen, usb type c(although should be usb 2.0 so no difference compared to lightning)
I have the iPhone 14 pro for 6 months now. It’s still as fast as my brother’s 15 pro, excellent camera quality and very smooth. The only problem is the battery. After 6 months, the battery is now at 90% and i hate that since I’m planning to stick to this phone for 6 years but now I’m thinking of switching phones after 3 years.
@@Silent-Witness its faster, better screen, better camera and most importantly a better brand new battery.... will last much longer. Ive just upgraded from an 11 that barely lasted half a day and now my pro max lasts me 1.5 days
I'm thinking of switching from android flip 4 to iPhone 14...it'll be my FIRST TIME owning an iPhone, anything I may miss switching over from android to ios?
1. When you press "back" in Android, do you know how you can slide from a side to the inside of the screen? Iphones don't have that feature. 2. You are not entirely free to access your media through the "folder" app. In Android phones, you can access, move, and add files, even to transfer when connected to a PC. 3. You can't have music from your own download library as on Android, neither copy nor move through folders (this is for people like me who like free music). All the music services are like Apple music. 4. Settings are a little bit arranged differently. 5. The iPhone notification pannel and its apps to use in it are better. 6. Amazing thing from Iphones, its message app "iMessage" has the option to send and receive messages via Wi-Fi instead of only SMS as Android phones do (if that makes sense). There are more differences, but these are the main I can think of by now. 😅
@esaubanuelos5891 I love free music too. Lol. But I do pay for Amazon Music, and premium Pandora (ad -free, no limit on replay and fast 4ward) I actually switch between the 3 especially when driving. So basically I should stick with my android....
I ordered one now due to the ridiculous MSRP of flagship phones in europe. The original price of the 14 Pro where I live was €1466 which is absolutely insane, now it's gone down to €1000, still a lot but much better. I wanted to try iOS because android's issue with notifications randomly not arriving was annoying me every day and the 14 Pro was the cheapest way to do it with a telephoto camera. Sure the 15 Pro might be nicer when it comes, but then again, it will be €1500.
Notification not arriving in an Android? A 100€ Android? I'm using a s23 and my nephew an A53, and my aunt an A33... so all prices, and no one loses notifications... and no one have bugs 🤷♀️
Watching on a 14 Pro Max, which I prefer over the 14 Pro because of battery life and and bigger display. In my opinion all flagship smartphones are overpriced not just Apple. Great video Nick.
I have had the 14 Pro Max since launch last year and my biggest complaint is the wi fi and overall connectivity is sub par. I will update to the 15 Pro Max but if these issues continue I will try Android. From download speeds from my Pro Max to the Google 7 is night and day. This has been IPhones downfall for a few years now. Since their legal battles with Qualcomm i believe.
The upgrade from 8+ is worth the money paid. I love all me iPhones and will not change. It’s robust, quick and reliable. All my ils devices from 4s are still in perfect condition.
I love your videos. I watch them all the time, and I hope this isn’t offensive but when I know I want Togo to sleep I can watch these and enjoy the video. Like it helps they are informative and not to loud. Calm in a way, better than whale noises for sure. I am a big fan of yours so I hope you don’t take that the wrong way I love hearing the things you have to say about the different tech
Honestly the e sim has been growing on me especially with apples easier way of doing so now if it doesn’t do it the first time that’s the issue other then that i no longer have carry a sim ejection tool now transferring it to a android device 😢😢that’s a problem
@Nick Ackerman I think manufacturers, I'm talking Samsung & Apple should make a phone that puts the cameras under the glass. Takes the camera bumps away and just put the cameras under the glass and make it so where only the lense is visible.
15 series looks ok , and IOS 17 looks a bit of alright to , but some things I think apple could still give us , for example split screen and I like the side panel galaxy’s have , also a bit more freedom to change the Home Screen how we want it, also some more freedom to choose how we have animations and transitions , on android phones we can go into developer options and world is our oyster as far as customisation goes ….. so to speak😃, and I wouldn’t expect to go the whole hog android customisation, but a little more freedom would be nice.
Can someone please tell me a little bit more about 14 pro battery? That's the only thing I'm scared would disappoint me. However, 14 pro max seems too big for me even if it has better lasting battery. I just want to be able to go trough my day without the charger.
I have a 14 Pro and it’s got decent battery life, it’ll make it through a day if your not a heavy user, it’s not Pro Max level, but if you make some tweaks with the settings and turn off some features that drain battery you’ll save even more. It’s a great phone, I love and enjoy having it, can’t go wrong with it but if your absolutely worried about battery life might consider doing the Pro Max if you want it to push even further than the standard Pro.
charge it from 20-80%, dont let it get too hot, turn off apps background refresh, dont charge it overnight, also u can turn on auto brightness, and even extra tip that people arent talking about is if u can to charge it to 50% before u go to sleep because best for battery is to be at 50%
It gathers lints from my pocket, lately it loses all batter over night I wakeup to it turned off. The battery health is already at 88% I did not have these issues with my previous iphone 8

Im worried for my 14pro. Im using it for only a year and it's battery health drops down to 90% already 😖 I dont have any back up phone and I'm using it whole day.

@@nickackermanchannel yup I did, pip mode is turned on however it doesn’t work unless you have RU-vid premium (which I don’t) but nevertheless your videos are very informative.
You lament the lack of physical SIM and I lament the lack of mmWave technology. I just don't know who benefits a lot from features this iPhone model offers - as I'm not living in the United States.
I'm still deciding between pre-ordering the Samsung Flip 5 phone or the iphone 14 Pro. I want to take advantages of Samsung phone pre-order deal . However, the iphone 14 Pro is currently on a discount of 200 less. I need to upgrade my phone because I have the old iphone 6S - and the battery life and photo quality is bad.
I have the current gen flip and im trading it in for a 14 pro this week battery life is horrid screen protector peeled off 6 months in and you cant replace it now i have hella scratches and dents in my screen if u take it to the beach or anywhere with dirt or sand and it gets in ur phone youll hear crackling every time you open and close the phone for a week its just not built to last at all that being said i love how small it is in my pocket and the screen is very vibrant but i had my iphone x since release before i got the flip on release and i can tell you right now this phone will not last that long if ur constantly using ur phone i wouldnt recommend the flip
@@Mikaaaaa21 Heavy and actual pain in wrist and hands is way different. If you're experiencing pain from 200grams of weight, there's something wrong with you.
