Why you mentioned multiple things that were not related to iPhone 14 Pro at all. You can not download and install apps other than app store even on iphone7 why add extra length to the video.
If Apple would scan messages from unknown senders, I can guarantee you that people would get outrages again because of privacy and security reasons. Wo of course something like this won't happen. And I personally haven't encountered a single time where the video recorded in HDR looked bad. It always looks how it should be while non-HDR looked worse.
Im not so sure. GoogleFi screens for spam calls and texts as well as blocks unknown numbers if wanted and I think it's a great addition. Something I'm going to unfortunately have to give up when I get my iPhone.
I know this is stupid, but I think I get FOMO of things I don't have like I could care less about like new iPhones every year but like not having the dynamic island is for real giving me FOMO and I don't know why I have the 13 promax. I don't know why I need the 14 for having it for a little over a year. I'm definitely waiting until the 15 but FOMO is real and such an embarrassing thing to have about an iPhone and for just one feature that's not even that big a deal. i went from the 11 to the 13 because my 11 (which i LOVED) got stuck in a boot loop due to low storage and i wasn't a fan of having to delete photos all the time. it was the last iPhone my parents bought me but if i could go back to the 11 i would but i decided to upgrade so i wouldn't have problems with not getting updates and lags older models get over time.
just bought myself the 14 pro it seems right around the time you uploaded this video 😄 I like trying to wait a while between upgrades so that I can feel like the big price tags are worth it. upgraded from the XR so there's a significant difference.
Only reason I went from the 13 Pro to the 14 Pro within the second year of my contract, was get a cheaper line rental, I’m not interested in the 14 Pro, dynamic island was a waste of time, and pointless to me.
Still with my mighty 8+ but it’s definitely showing it’s age. still works fine but the battery health is on 70% and if freezes for a couple seconds maybe once a week. when the iPhone 15 comes out I’ll get it
For me, this is a HUGE upgrade. Cuz I’m upgrading from my 8. And going from THAT straight to the newest phone, that’s a big step forward. Anyways, I am ready for this change
I just ordered this. Coming from my first iPhone, the 11, I’m excited to see what’s different. I’ve always been an avid Samsung owner, but worked for apple so decided to switch and it’s been good this far. Can’t wait to play with it.
Hi May I know how do you feel after changing from iPhone 11 to iPhone 14 pro? As I’m currently an iPhone 11 user and would like to change to iPhone 14 pro as well
I upgraded from my 12 Mini to the 14 Pro in mid December, I’ve heard and read of numerous bugs that these new iPhones have including reduced battery life compared to the previous generation. I haven’t experienced the big bugs that are talked about and most of the smaller ones I probably wouldn’t even notice, what I do notice is the best battery life I’ve ever experienced on a phone. I’m averaging 2 and a half days between charges which I do when I reach about 20 percent, I will admit I’m a very light user. I have several devices with much larger screens that I have access to most of the time, nevertheless this is still incredible battery life in a relatively compact package
The bugs are software-based and can be found on any iPhone. It's IOS 16 that's causing it. The battery life of the 14 pro max is the same as the 13 pro max. I've had both and there's literally no difference. You can watch videos on RU-vid, but don't rely on all of them. Yes, battery life in IOS 15 was like 5 percent better but that's just the software not the phones.
@@hesamvazifedan3248 great points. It’s just that I’ve watched so many videos that refer to reduced battery life from the 13 Pro series to the 14 nobody or few talk about how battery life has also been negatively impacted on prior generations of iPhones other than 14 series due to IOS 16
iPhone 14 pro is as close as a perfect iPhone! the dynamic island is amazing and it really makes the phone feel "notch free" thanks to the ui. But also from what I have heard the only thing about iPhone 15 is that it's going to be usbc and 100 DOLLARS MORE EXPENSIVE! so I would say just get this one
The Dynamic Island is a gimmicky way to add some animations to an eye-sore. Apple is saving money, by keeping the pill, and instead adding a few animations there.
@@jaspermacnevin7957 yep, the price will drop big time. If you want for longevity and best value for the money, then I will get then the 14 pro max, but if you want the newest of the new and the best specs, get the 15, if you want the cheapest then get the 13.
I upgraded from a non iphone to an iphone 14 pro so theres no situation when I would have chosen a 13 pro over a 14 pro so that's something your video does not account for. If you have neither I wouldn't reccomend a 13 pro over a 14 pro and I feel you would too, due to longer support life, etc.
Been a Samsung user for a long time and I'm sick of the battery life. I'm open to going to the Apple route but feel like I need an apple watch, airpods, macbook, airtag, ipad, and apple headphones to get the most out of the product. And all this will cost me $6,000 XD
I feel you on that one 😂. Currently using a S21 with an exynos chip which is horrible for my battery life. Although the S23 series has got a great processor and battery life im getting a bit bored of samsung and android
I have been with Samsung for 14 years, my new iPhone coming tomorrow and the main reason is the poor battery life!! Got all the stuff you mentioned coming tomorrow too!!
Upgraded from iPhone 12 Pro to iPhone 14 pro max and there’s pretty much no difference apart from size and the camera difference which isn’t overly noticeable on a day to day basis. Even the screen isn’t much of a change. People will say it is and that’s why I upgraded but after 2 months I honestly wish I could go back and perhaps wait for the 16.
The dynamic island is a solution to a problem that shouldn't exist. Taking a giant bite out of the screen is horrible, but kudos to them for at least trying to make it less of an eyesore like the notch was. The better solution is a small pinhole in the corner and give us back the screen real estate. Its very distracting when watching a movie and having part of the screen missing.
@@antidelusionalpeeps It was a poor solution, to a problem that nobody was having. Tell you what, do the math on the largest notch, whatever year that was... Get some black masking tape, and go to your flat panel tv, and put a notch on top, to the same proportion of the phone's notch, so that it takes an equivalent bite out of your screen and whatever you are watching... Then tell me it's not pointless and annoying...
@@AngelaLee-ql6um I am! It takes much, much better pictures than the 8, has tons of storage space, and isn't overly large, so it still fits comfortably in the hand. Facial recognition is a bit of a pita, but on the whole it's a huge upgrade. I hope you enjoy yours!
dynamic island is a gimmick to cover up a massive flaw they created with the notch... Apple marketing is brilliant. They convinced people that a giant piece missing from the screen is somehow a "feature"... lol
@@Blkbeat yeah i literally barely use it too. I found out if u have something playing in the island u can swipe left or right in the island and it turns it off so lol
That was extremely well done and from a lifetime Apple user, not very savvy tech person and someone who just upgraded to a brand new iPhone 14 Pro (from the iPhone ... ah, too embarrassed to say), greatly appreciated! Thank you! Although, I'm not thrilled to hear about not being able to download apps directly! That's just bs and Apple has been losing my loyalty with this kind of proprietary service over the last few years. Not a fan of inaccessibility or being locked in on service. Apple, you need to change this!
I love my iPhone 14 pro! Much better than my iPhone 11 standard. Better display, better battery, amazing performance and so much more! If your coming from a 12 or 13 pro it probably won’t feel like that huge of an upgrade.
I upgraded from an 11 pro and this 14 pro is crap. I have to reset it twice a day to reconnect to the 5g internet. Apps don’t work properly. Battery is bad. Mind you I’ve had it 2 months brand new from Apple Store. It’s a garbage phone my 11 pro was way better I only upgraded cuz the speaker was going out and I wanted something new…. I regret it
@@redcaliforniaturtle sounds like you got a faulty one. Those things should not be happening. Also about the 5G thing that’s not a problem with the 14 pro that’s the fact that 5G is not as good as these brands made it out to be.
I just upgraded from the 12 Pro to the 14 Pro, and the dynamic island is by far my favorite change so far. The higher/faster refresh rate made me a lil nauseous at first, but I'm acclimating. EDIT: you can change the setting back down to 60fps, so I did. 120fps is just too fast for me.
Samsung is better I love my S23 ultra way better than my 14 pro max I bought the 14 pro max after a week got bored of it and put my sim back in my S23 ultra. My samsung flip 4 is way better than my 13 mini everyone loves a flipable phone and who cares if I message is used predominantly in the states I dont live in the states so I dont care I use watsapp like every other normal person and if I was living in the states I would still use watsapp and if people dont like that tough luck i dont really care. Apple especially the I phone is just boring now
Thank you for great video update. I'm going to updata my iPhone 7 to iPhone 14 Pro Max and I'm sure I will have big and enjoyable improvement from this update! Still not sure which memory size to choose? On my 7th I have smallest - 32 GB but for 14th I thinking about 512 GB because I plan to use it at least for 5 years! iPhone 7 is the longest phone I used so far - 6.5 years and I would still use it but after atest ios update it's getting so hot from one side when I play one of my games, plus sometimes the phone don't regognize charger and also memory space is not enough for all my apps!
Over the 13 pro max, I'm pretty sure there is no good reason to upgrade. That said i have a Samsung not iPhone but from what I know there isn't much of an upgrade for the money.
I just did tonight and I don’t feel like there is that much of a difference. I had the 11 pro. I’m going to try it out for the week and take it back unless I love the pics. So far just meh
It makes me furious that since launch the proximity sensor doesn’t work while listening to Whatsapp Voice messages. It’s so slow to turn off the display (5-6 seconds)
Think they crest the need for someone to have a go at Apple, if you build more roads, get more cars, the back to square one, less cars, means less roads, less features in the iPhone means a less demanding handset.
I wanna get the 13 pro max but it isnt available at my provider, have 11 pro max now so I have no other choice than to get the 14 but I hope it's going to be fine anyway!
My non-pro 12 was awesome, zero issues… Verizon had a promotion to trade it 12-13 for a 14 if eligible for upgrade. I did this for the camera. I’ve noticed basically zero difference… but the camera… this is so far beyond the 12. I upgraded for this and only this and I’m not disappointed. If you don’t care about the camera… it’s essentially the same.
But let me reiterate… these photos are on a whole different level. The 14pro is like buying a high grade Nikon. 48 mega pixels on main lens 12mp on other two. Front selfie… same who cares. But I did this for the camera and I’m not disappointed.
I wish I could show what I shot today. If I had this in Ohio when I found the bald eagle nests… don’t get me started. If you don’t care about photography 11-13 you’ll be just fine.
the dynamic island is one of the most useless features ever. The system has 4 different UI elements for the exact same thing now (such as music control). Its wasted potential that notifications dont even use it.
What does the notch on the 13 PM do other than being an obstruction? Dynamic Island does something at least. You're preferring a black spot that only houses a speaker and camera compared to a floating widget that does more than that
@Ailurophile it's more that it doesn't do enough. Other than media controls, it's useless. They need to merge the notification system with what the island currently does. The system UI is fragmented across 4 different places right now as a result.
I was unbelievably disappointed with the iPhone 14 pros camera. I went from a pixel 5 to the 14 pro thinking I’d see a difference buying a phone 2x the price. Unfortunately it’s barely better and sometimes worse. I recently found out covering the camera on the right usually fixes most issue I have with taking photos
That is phones in general. Upgrading a flagship now a days is minute. Hell the S23 Ultra has a 200 mega pixel camera the Pixel 6a takes better photos cause of software. The camera on the 14 is excellent, but your phone was not old enough to see a huge improvement.
Shows how great the Pixel 5 camera quality is. But agree with @Doomy we are at the point of diminishing returns. There’s just not much reason to upgrade anymore. I’m keeping my 13 Pro for at least 4 years.
The Pixel 5 is a great primary camera that even the latest 2023 phones are only just catching up with. I feel you are being very harsh; it is simple, Google AI/ML is so good due to their access to our data. The iPhone 14 Pros cameras are great, just consistent and not top of each camera category apart from video. The double the cost is more than just the camera, although you do get a zoom as well on the iPhone. It is about the whole phone, and that price is easily explained.
i have the 13 and i love mine but i feel like iphone 14 and up is kind of a waste of money because your not really getting a big change out of it. all of the features are basically the same if anything its just newer with bigger cameras and the dynamic island then probably small minor changes but not a huge one you could probably see, like yea if you were coming from an xr or xs or something it would feel way newer but to me i dont really think 14+ is worth it
Only good thing is durability with mid protection case. I practically threw it by mistake at a car and it landed face down on concrete after and not even a scratch.
I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max since September '22 and though I think it’s a fantastic phone I also think that the Dynamic Island is complete useless. I have zero use for it. In fact, most of the time I forget that it’s there.
I’m jumping to the 14 Pro from an 8. Yep! This is a HUGE jump for me. That’s a big upgrade. But yeah! Been having my 8 for 5-6 years now. And it’s getting really bad now. So yeah! About time for an upgrade. I’m getting the 14 Pro tomorrow. Can’t wait 😜
I mean to be fair, You are a tech youtuber, so you always have the newest of everything, which would make it obvious that you wont see much of a difference between the Iphone 13 pro and the iphone 14 pro, but for me, I have a iphone 12 and I'm upgrading to a iphone 14 pro soon, that will be a substantially bigger Upgrade for me. most people have 2-5 year old phones before they decide to upgrade
Blah blah blah blah. It is the worst phone I have ever had. Very often opens a new windows or light and it's hard to close it. And the greatest factor is the purple color? Probably it is.
I do agree. I had to buy a new phone cuz my dog cracked my screen. And it’s absolutely not worth it. In my opinion the 13 pro was as good. And I prefer the green over the purple I have now. The colours now are just boring.
had my 7 for about 5 years now,, battery lasted about 7 hours, couldnt use a lof of apps. Ordered this about 2 hours ago. Going to be a real shock to the system
My take: NOT WORTH IT. I regret “upgrading” from 13 Pro. 14 Pro’s battery is much worse, it heats up very easily, the cameras are mostly worse (oversharpened and too much contrast - up to the point of poor dynamic range and clipped highlights). The cameras only perform much better compared to 13 Pro while on ProRaw mode but that is so inefficient and impractical. Always On display still wakes up the screen fully for every notification that comes in, which is kinda stupid.
AOD is different to Android and is actually always on display rather than what Android does! I find that I only use AOD when stationary, at home, car or office and it is attached to a MagSafe charger, so battery loss is moot. In these situations I want to see every message, and if I don’t then I will silence those apps. If I want quiet I put the phone face down on the desk (turns AOD off), and use my Mac for notifications as they are mirrored. Great implication and I never got Android AOD, basically a clock widget!
Just curious about why you mention ProRaw is inefficient and impractical? Just bought the phone yesterday so trying to learn more about the camera features.
@@ytvanessa what I meant by impractical and inefficient is cameras on phones don't always need to produce RAW image files with large filesize all the time. But with iPhone 14 Pro, it seems that the results that I'm usually happy with are when I use ProRAW. Without ProRAW, contrast is too punched up, dynamic range is often poor, and the oversharpening is quite off-putting.
I had iphones and decided to switch to Samsung just for a change and have had Samsung for some time now i enjoyed it still do, but I am considering on switching back to iPhone just because I already went way deep in buying apple products such as the airpods, MacBook, iPad, and apple watch. I don't want to spend another hundreds on just buying Samsung headphones, watch, and possibly tablet.
Just upgraded my iphone 6s to 13 pro. Its great. But, i keep wondering if i took the right decision to buy 13 pro instead of 14 pro. Because actually in my country, the price of 14 pro is a bit cheaper than 13 pro. I got the 13 pro because some review tells that overall its a better phone than 14 pro. But i still keep thinking wether i should just exchange it to 14 pro or not 😅
I like the design but the purpose doesn't back up the design enough I just had a good deal from the 11 pro (1000) off for the 14 pro and it was during my birthday week so why not
