I really think that there are a few options to save money this year with the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Plus and the regular iPhone 15.
In this video, I'm sharing with you all the options for all budgets and depending on what you prioritise.

The new iPhone 15 Pro Max is the latest and greatest phone on the market, but don't let the hype fool you. There are plenty of other phones (including the Apple iPhone 14 and 13 models) out there that are just as good depending on your needs. The iPhone 15 Pro Max could be overpriced at launch and might not have any features that stand out for your needs. Instead, spend your hard-earned cash on something more worth your money!
Should you upgrade to the latest Apple iPhone 15 this year? Or should you look at alternatives? Is the iPhone 13 or 14 Pro Max for example still a good alternative? Could you afford to wait for the iPhone 15?
Apple's iPhone 15 promises a few upgrades, a bigger battery, better camera specs and a new A17 chip. Are these upgrades significant? Join me in this video as we discuss where it may not make sense to upgrade to the iPhone 15. And also where it absolutely does make sense to upgrade.
Even if you decided that you are upgrading to the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, in some cases, an upgrade is inevitable right?
But even in those cases, it can be confusing on which model of the iPhone 15 should you go for. And is the iPhone 15 Pro range the best choice for you? Or could the iPhone 14 Pro Max or iPhone 14 Pro be a better option, especially given the likely drop in prices after the release date?

The iPhone 15 has a lot of new features, including an action button and a five times optical zoom, maybe the best features is external camera support and upgraded gaming capabilities. (And yes, Samsung users… unlike your cameras apples zooming capabilities aren’t AI generated ) you guys have to stop cutting to conclusions other phone brands Don’t change anything some years too. Stop lying to yourself.

I haven’t upgraded since the 12 Pro Max, but the HDR and photos and especially videos seem very noticeably better than the prior iPhones. Also, that voice isolation capability on calls seems AMAZING. The intermediate zoom just prior to full mag/zoom is really bad, as it just crops to a sub megabyte image. So, that’s the one negative that you have to be cognizant of and avoid.

I said I would wait for the 13 and 14 and get the 15 but I managed to see it wasn’t all that as the day grown closer to release but I figured I wait for 16 to see that they optimize and take more advantage of the new tech that will really show on the 16. I don’t get caught up in the marketing hype at all where my eyes are wide open for sure. I have a older phone and still love using jt. After all it’s all the same to me even with the small upgrades over the years. But I honestly think every decade you’ll actually see a significant upgrade despite the newer fresh look that tells people you have a older phone that may make you feel your feeling left out. But with the cost of phones I want to pay for something that’s worth every dollar I make.

My wife currently has 13 pro max, I have xr. I’m thinking to get 15 pro max for her and I’ll take her current 13 pro max. That way we both get upgrades while only buying one iPhone. She needs longer camera reach and I need bigger screen and better battery. Win win for everyone. 😊

Can’t speak for other markets, but here in Australia iPhones after 1 year tend to stabilise in trade in/selling value for few year if look after them and keep the packaging. Most reviews don’t factor this in to the “upgrade” thought process. My wife and I got trade in total for our 12 and 13 pros that paid for one of the 15 pro maxes we upgraded to for mostly the camera and usb c so go one cable in house.

I wanted to thank you for a great review and advise! It was helpful that you first addressed Ip 12 and older users and then proceeded with most recent models. I'm tired of hearing "there's nothing new it's just like ip 14" from other bloggers as I have an ip 12 pro and that doesn't really apply to me. Your video definitely helped me to set my mind on the correct path and make this decision easier (as this is a big investment and I was a bit anxious about it). I'm a college sophomore and bought my iPhone 8 Plus red(64GB) at the start of 9th grade and have been using it ever since. It's a very good phone. I'm looking forward to pre-ordering the iPhone 15 Pro-Max (1TB). there shouldn't be any reason for me to wait. I'm not gonna buy a new iPhone every year and plus it's more of an investment.

@@HansLandaNaranjait’s an investment because it’s a device that will last him a long time over the years without any problems, since iPhones get a long term updates and support and they age very well (like my 11 pro max still feels extremely fast and the battery is decent at 80% capacity).

Thanks so much. I have an 11ProMax with 80% battery life and a fading display issue so I was hoping to upgrade. I can still get a $300 trade in so it seems the under $700 price is good. If I wait and my screen completely dies I don't think I can get the trade-in value. grrrrr. I would love to wait for the 16 but don't think I can.

Not much changes in the iphone 15, I don't really feel like upgrading but I have had the 11 pro max since launch and it's almost unusable sometimes now with the delays and bugs I have. Going for the upgrade this month.

Another 11 pro max user here. Honestly nothing is wrong with the phone, still performing great honestly. Battery life is the only con here. I’m thinking about going for the regular 15 and not pro max, but I’m kinda afraid the phone will feel really small…

I’ve had my iPhone XS Max since launch, battery life is down to 74 and unfortunately 3 months ago I dropped it for the first time and it splintered on both sides. Luckily it still works but I’m definitely going to upgrade. Now it’s just deciding if I want the pro or the max?

I was desperate to upgrade my 12 pro max to a 14 pro max and had nothing but issues. Battery 87% after a year, camera focus bad and generally slow. All to use the exact same apps I did on the 12. I won’t be upgrading again until it’s a large change.

For me the 14 pro and the Apple Watch ultra 1 are both amazing pieces of hardware. If I was a new buyer of course I’d go for the latest models but I have not seen anything from the 15 pro or watch ultra 2 that requires an upgrade.

Someone that recently got a 14 pro, I’m not buying a new phone 2-3 years at least. iPhone yearly releases are so incremental in changes, it’s not worth upgrading them until a few years. I think this year would be a bigger update for the base model users since dynamic island is coming to the base version. That along with USB C seems like a good upgrade for someone coming from iPhone 12 or earlier. Also iOS 16 was trash! They actually removed old wallpapers and removed the automatic light and dark transitioning wallpapers. That and so many bugs!!

Absolutely the sensible move there. And yes, 100% agree with you, iOS16 was one of the reasons I gave up on my 14PM. I know it's stable now but for the first 4-5 months, it was awful.

@@AlexGTech a lot of the bugs are still there. iOS 16 bugged my calendar app. I had a few shared calendars from my colleagues and now iOS 16 calendar app would send me notification for all their calendar events, even if I unsubscribe from those notifications. Its definitely much better on 16.6 compared to launch but that is so unlike Apple to release such a broken product. I hope the situation will be different on iOS 17.

I agree with your video 101%. For iPhone and Android users sporting flagship phones within the last 5 years, there's no point in switching. In my opinion, the 14 Pro series is way more interesting than the 15 Pro series. After watching and learning about the 14 Pro Max back in 2022, I almost bought one but I just waited and got the S23 Ultra instead.

I upgraded from Note 10+, with best/lowest SAR radiation, to S23 Ultra mainly for the 8K/30fps superior camera, excellent battery & faster memory (except missing microSD up to 1TB, replaceable;) The super productive S-pen is deal-maker :)

The galaxy s22 to the s23 ultra was the identical phone on the outside with minor external changes, I think what everyone needs to realize is all of these phone manufacturers aren’t making any ground breaking innovations. It’s just not happening, the huge technological leaps have happened early in the evolution of smart phones. Now it’s become small incremental upgrades and or improvements year over year, long story short is do what makes you happy. It’s your money, just like anything else you work hard to be able to enjoy things so do what makes you happy long as it doesn’t hurt anyone 😂. I personally upgrade each year just personally because I do reviews and unboxing on my RU-vid channel, and because I love to have the most up to date hardware available for both android and Apple. I love tech in general, it’s my vice. Sorry about the ranting and rambling not sure where I meant to go with this 😅

I enjoyed Apple as i had both the Iphone 13:and Iphone 14 pro max howver last week I switched to the Samsung s23 ultra. I love it. I would have loved a new Pixel 8 pro howver i read that Googles software on the Pixel is amazing however the hardware needs improvements in certain areas. Its nice to have my freedom back

Definitely getting the iPhone, as you're right - it's kinda part of the job. But I am seeing this teh same way I saw buying a Pixel before. I certainly dn't see myself going to a full Apple setup based on what we know now. It took me ages to "decouple" myself from iPhones, and I am so happy with the mixed environment I created... The only thing that may get me to use more of the apple ecosystem is the Watch Ultra. But again, I've been so happy with my Garmin that the Ultra will have to really deliver on battery and fitness tracking.

I had a Xs and then it is in pieces eek! So I’m currently relegated to my dying a painful death 6s!! Im looking at the 15pro (or pro max we’ll see) but mostly because I knew I wouldn’t afford anything before now anyway, and I’m looking for something that lasts ages!!! Note I love casetify too!! I used a refurbished iPhone 8 Plus for 2 years as my main phone until I saved up enough money to buy myself a new iPhone. Obviously it was the 15 Pro Max was it worth it? Definitely

Upgrading to the iPhone 15 pro from the IPhone XS. Battery health is at 78%. Definitely got my moneys worth considering I like to upgrade every 4-5 years. Looking for better battery life and camera specs. Also all the new stuff that comes with internals etc.

100%! And if the 15 line up is a stretch too far, budget-wise, I;d say the 14 range is still gonna be great for a few years. I had a bad experience with my 14 Pro Max, but I think it was mostly due to iOS16

Depends on your budget really, I'd say the normal 15 this year is actually not a bad shout. It's a shame about the display, but if you want to try Apple without breaking the bank, that is a decent choice

I have had the Galaxy S21 Ultra (the camera has been incredible!) for 2 and a half years and have been thinking of switching to iPhone for a while now - thought this 15 would be the right time to switch between the brands because of USB C and camera. USB-C with restrictions! S23 Ultra is superior & you get productivity S-Pen with BT remote control & best 200MP camera with 10x optical zoom & 8K/30fps for future pleasure.

I have great Sony camcorder cam but it's only FHD & 8K camcorders are much more expensive. 8K recorded now on 200MP will be superior 5 years later when 8K monitors are mainstream & the content cannot be reproduced with more advanced cameras (too late). Can you check how your old iPhone content looks on 4K? Pathetic like VHS :) Now you sound like iBot & iLost ;)

These videos always crack me up. Especially because the iPhone 15 Pro sold out in 20 mins and is now shipping in November / December. Ive seen tech channels making videos like this about the iPhone for the last 12 years and not once were any of them right or even persuasive. Let this be a teaching lesson that Apple is God among tech, over a Billion people own iPhones. Of course people are going to buy, even if the upgrades are insufficient. Buying a new iPhone is like some sort of pop culture tradition, sorta how your mom bakes her Christmas cookies every year, its special and everyone is looking forward to it.

@@emilsecker7881I replaced the battery on my 12 a year ago after 2 years of use. Now, even less than a year I have the same battery % and the phone feels slower than ever. Glitches all the time. I have almost 40gb free so that is not the issue. I don’t even have games on the phone. I also thought that was a great cheaper solution to upgrading but now I’m going for the 15P or 15PM.

I bought both the 13 and 14 pro max last week because I currently use an 11 and didn’t want to spend over $1,000 on then 15. The display on the 14 is wayyy better than the 13. The camera quality is noticeably better in the 14. I haven’t compared those two with then 15 yet but I can say the 14 or 15 are the best options.

I'll be upgrading from my 12 Pro Max this year with it's 85% battery health. But will see what the differences are as for the first time ever, I could be buying the standard large one this time. They'll be one feature I feel I need the Pro Max for and will it be worth another few hundred quid? So annoying. Cheers Alex brother👍🏻😄

@@AlexGTech I agree Alex. It’s MagSafe charged every night regardless of what charge it has. Always use optimised battery charging as well. 👍🏻 I have noticed that using low power mode is really good for how long it lasts so clearly I have far too much going on in the background 😂

Why do you need to waste money on show-off? Galaxy Note 10+ is excellent phone with least SAR radiation, microSD up to 1TB & you can share the S-pens that is the most productive component. Currently in 5th year passed to my partner & still 85% original battery health (I limit charging 20-80% + 85% hard limit, occasionally recharge 0-100% to reset.) Samsung smart cover is very practical protection with information cutout. I chose lavender for my new S23 Ultra as king/intelectual thinking colour ;)

I currently have the ip13 pro max and I am waiting for my new ip15 pro max to be delivered. I only upgraded because t-mobile had a $1000 trade in deal so it only cost me $200+ tax to upgrade since my current phone is paid off. I wouldn’t have upgraded because my current phone is still fast but the promo plus saying goodbye to lightning cables will be worth it.

I like your perspective about your option to choose iphone 15 pro standard size about the weight experience from iphone 14 pro max but if the standard can last all day long of multimedia I also definitely choose the standard also even if is smaller batter but bcos of size display it maybe less consume a battery maybe can match tha pro max battery.

True and not true. iPhone ram mama cement and battery can be stellar even with mediocre specs. Recent years show them around on par with Samsung tbh. but glad to see they’re raising the ram this year. Also generally I just have a preference for IOS, but would gladly use android if I could use iOS on it

the 15 pro series do not have significant changes as compared to the 14 pro. The 14 pro was a big upgrade for me as it had a 48mp new camera and dynamic island which changes the game . even the 15 pros have the same camera no improvement on cameras either. so it is a no go for me . gonna go with the 16 pro next year .
